FINAL CHALLENGE PART 1 - WHY DO YOU THINK YOU DESERVE TO WIN SURVIVOR PC?

Never Say Die

Coming into this event, I did not expect to make it past even the first round of Tribal Council. I was terribly nervous, as this is my very first event, and knew absolutely zero individuals. I joined this event with no expectations at all just hoping to meet new people and to make some new friends on PC. I most certainly did not in my wildest dreams imagine that I would make it to the Top Five. But somehow being here now feels right and it's something that I didn't know I wanted all along. I am truly privileged and very fortunate to make it this far and to call so many people here my closest friends.

I wasn't sure how far I would go in the beginning, but once I decided that I wanted to win, I gave this event my all and did the best I possibly could.

I may not be the strongest contender, I may not be the smartest contender but there is one thing I can say for sure: I am the one who has worked the hardest.

I have stayed up past 3 am waiting for challenges to be put up and have spent sleepless nights anticipating, trying to take hold the opportunity of winning a challenge. I have put this competition above my basic needs of sleep and food countless times.

I am a dark horse in this event and I deserve to win because my victory will go to not only me but to all of you who know what it's like to grind, to stay awake and fight sleep when you've had a long day and you're so tired and hungry but you still give it your best shot & never quit.

I think about winning this event every day and I believe that this trophy deserves to go to someone who never gives up and works hard and perseveres against all odds despite any distractions or limitations.

I hope that person is me.

Why I should be crowned PC's First Sole Survivor

I deserve to win because I have played this game from the start. I chose the Pokemon type strategically (Steel-type is good competitively), I chose my team name, and I knew that if I could fill the leader role I wouldn't be voted out anytime soon. I became one of the three most valuable members and strategically made sure the strongest members stayed on my side. I knew that people would target me while we remained in teams so I tried to appear as if there were cracks in our team. People wouldn't vote out the bad guy. I knew there was a chance that the other teams could potentially eliminate one member of our team - I didn't want it to be me

I stayed up late and made sure I got the first immunity idol. I kept it right up until the last round it could be used. I was the only one. I knew I could be seen as a threat so just before the merge I strategically told all current members to vote out any former Pikachu's to make sure that my position was safe. I was right, everyone targeted the Pikachu's and that got me through a few rounds safely. When the pre-merge (Shiny Sparkling Stunfisk Rockets etc) happened I discovered that one of those members was really strong and knew I had to keep him around as long as I could. I formed an alliance with him and one of my original team members.

Then when it came to the Delphox challenge I figured there was only roughly four more voting rounds left so I was prepared to use my immunity if needed but I kept my friendships in the back of my head and played down the activity so people wouldn't have seen me as a threat. That worked. The creative challenge came and I knew I had to go all out... so I spent three hours at least on getting the best answer to help me be safe. I also knew people would vote me to "save" so I figured I'd be safe for the next round. I then formed an alliance with another member and kept my original alliance - both alliances meant I would make it to the final five at least. I planned to get rid of the strongest member of my alliance when the last tribal council vote happened as I knew he was going quiet and potentially a threat. When I realised that we were only going to have one more vote (due to using immunity idols) I convinced a member to back me up and one half of my alliance to vote out the other member. I also made sure I messaged a member I knew wouldn't get eliminated, and said why they should eliminate the threat. They're still in, but it doesn't matter. From the start I've mapped out and planned out the entire way I would play the game... and that's why I deserve to win.

Fancy essay as to why I think I would win

I think I deserve to win the Survivor PC because... I've been the luckiest contestant so far despite being the worst since I only did good in one Challenge, if I recall right. I've also always tried my best to complete them on time, and tried completing one even when my team mates weren't around to help. I'm also one of those contestants that didn't complain and just focused on the Challenges instead; what else can I add...

Oh look, I ran out of inspiration, time to get fancy with this. I should totally win this challenge because I'm actually a fabulous turtle behind that screen of yours, that likes torturing people for my own entertainment. My running a charity Pokéshop is just a cover and a trap ! I'm a funny turtle however and I know you all like funny turtles, don't you? Oh yes, you do, don't deny it.
I know you can't help yourselves but wonder if I'm truly a funny turtle since I've been the most silent contestant, or have I? At least one of the most silent contestants. Well, this was my second chance to prove it to you all. I'm sure anyone that will be reading this is already dying of laughter... and this, my friends, is why I should be the winner ! Yeah, no I don't take anything seriously, well, I do sometimes, but not when the situation doesn't call for it.

Well, I guess this is the end of my essay. Wait, what? You didn't find it funny at all? That's impossibru ! I thought I was the best funny turtle ever. :(

The reason I deserve to win PC's Survivor is...

Stunfisk is underrated. IT. IS UNDERRATED. AS. HELL.

THIS THING NEEDS MORE LOVE. PEOPLE MUST APPRECIATE HOW GOOD A POKÉMON IT IS.

While I was also here to compete, have fun, and be enlightened, I am also here to represent Stunfisk. ALL Stunfisk. Be they with terrible IV's, Serious, Sassy, Shiny, ugly, or normal, Stunfisk deserves recognition. And I am here to give hope to the Stunfisk nation. To give a...spark of hope.

Yes, there is also another Stunfisk in this competition, but HERE. I. AM. THE MOST SPONTANEOUS STUNFISK TO EVER EXIST. I. AM. THE. EMBODIMENT OF A SPONTANEOUS STUNFISK. I CAN. BE. SPONTANEOUS. I. AM. ALSO. THIN. STUNFISK ARE THIN!

So let this be a lesson to all ye Pikachu, Rocket Grunts, and Flare Grunts...

STUNFISK SHALL PREVAIL.

STUNFISK WILL BE GLORIOUS!

STUNFISK WILL BE SUPERIOR!

STUNFISK SHALL TRIUMPH OVER EVEN PIKACHU! IN FACT, IT SHOULD BE THE MASCOT!

Stunfisk are the most glorious things in the entire franchise, second only to Charjabug, but IT'S STILL. DAMN. GLORIOUS. IT'S SO GLORIOUS, IT SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN RELIGION. And I should be the Pope. Because I preach it so hard. So hard, that my faith in Stunfisk breaks through even a Registeel's skin.

You want a guy with a spontaneous attitude¿ Ya got one. Want a comedian standing strong¿ You want a guy from your Pokémon Go team to win¿ You want an avid Survivor game fan to show how much he's worth¿

I'm also here to represent all Survivor fans out there! Even if the show in question is a parody of Survivor! Dedenne1! You (AND I MEAN YOU, CHU)! Maybe some other guys I'm too busy to mention! And to all young people out there who have always wanted to win a Survivor-like show (start small, like Big Brother, OK¿), THIS IS FOR YOU! LET ME HEAR YOU ROAR! And also to all Filipinos! And Asians! I'm probably the only Asian left competing, and I shall show my worth and represent the whole continent!

Do you want a whimsical guy who can crack jokes but still stay serious¿ DO YOU WANT A GUY WHO CAN REPRESENT STUNFISK REALLY WELL¿! YOU WANT A GUY WHO LIKES HAWAIIAN PIZZA¿! (OK, maybe not the last one) THEN SHOUT, "AAH!"

FINAL CHALLENGE

Out of all of the players in the Event, I put the most time into it. I've also tried to be active in the Group Chats (except for the last one) and have tried to get to know the other players more (not so that I would know how to beat them or anything >_>). For (almost) all of the Challenges, I was usually one of the first people there, participating. Although, all along, I've been playing to try to guarantee myself a spot here, in the top 5, instead of really being a team player (at least in my opinion). Even if I don't win, I think I'll be satisfied anyway, since this Event gave me something to look forward to during the summer, and it introduced me to a lot of people. And... I tried really hard to think of reasons for this?

Unless I can just use this, since you didn't specify whether or not the 250-500 had to happen in the entry part of the PM. In that case, [I was going to retype this little message backwards and put it right here, but that might not count towards the word total]. With this sentence included, I am now at 214 words altogether. So here are 42 words that are insignificant, so insignificant, in fact, that you didn't take the time out of your day to read them (except this: I count numbers as words.). Here we are! 265 words, fifteen higher than the minimum!)

First of all, I'd like to say these were really hard to judge. All really different styles, but each of them was a good read. No exceptions.
For those of you who are curious, I based my scores on three aspects: fun/humor (max 10 points), determination to win (and argumentation, max 10 points), and the title (which I was assured was super important by our host) and misc (together max 5 points).

Now let's take a look!

#1: Never say die
An entry a bit too serious for my taste, but I can smell the determination to win and that really counts as something as well.

It seems a lot of thought went in the this player's play style, I like that. Plot your victory and strike when they're not looking and then take over the world! The title is a bit lazy, but I give you bonus points for exactly 500 words! ;D

Oh man, these seriously were difficult to decide on! I must say I had a blast reading these, so it was a pretty close call! My scoring method was a little bit different from Lycan's, though. While Lycan used a weighted scale based on set categories, my scale was based on overarching impact — where everything is accounted for in the sum of its parts. Something like that, at least! :D
