Name: Annette Reash
Race: Branded
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Class: Pupil
Appearance: The first thing one would notice about Annette is that she is fairly short, standing at 4'11. She doesn't seem to care about this, not even bothering to hide it with large shoes, and she walks somewhat reservedly, carefully, as if she seems a bit skittish about something, though despite this, her strides do tend to be large. Likely to do with her having to compensate for her height in following people.
Beyond the height, one would notice light grey hair that reaches down to her mid-back. While it seems impractical, she doesn't necessarily get much of a chance to get a trim, letting it grow out more than even she might want. Despite that, she does attempt to take as good of care of it as she can, even if most of the time it tends to be hidden away. Under her hair, are two dull blue eyes, almost grey themselves, even. The skin of her body is actually surprisingly tanned for someone like her, thanks to her having been outside quite a bit as a child.
Over top of her fleshy frame, not fat or thin, is a brown, traditional yet loosely fitting brown tunic, a hand me down from her adopted mother, and light tan pants. The pants fit ever so slightly better than the shirt, helped out by the belt she managed to get. She also wears a brown scarf instead of a cape, even when it's hot. She tends to be very protective of this scarf for some reason... and that reason is under the scarf.
Beneath the scarf and the tunic, there is a sign of the rabbit clan, from the nape of her neck to her shoulderblades. While her hair covers it well, she does have the scarf as backup. Also it might come in handy in another way eventually anyway.
Inventory: Fire Tome
Allegiance: Belial
Personality: While her body language suggests timidness, that is not entirely accurate. Annette is not exactly the nicest person overall to most people, not bothering to make contact for longer than is necessary. She's not exactly the most fulfilled in social situations, brand or not, as she tends to get tired easily with that. However, if one were to talk to her, one might find out she's a bit more radical than one might think.
Annette is fiercely loyal to the Belial Empire, her parents having taught her to be. Seeing with her eyes the success of the empire, and how it's new rule brought an untold level of prosperity to many, although not all, of its citizens, in addition to her teachings, she views it as her true home, and will not stop fighting to defend it. In this regard, she is very passionate, and if it comes down to it, she would defend those who live there to the death, even if she knows many of them would hate her, and wish nothing but death on her.
She maintains great ties with her parents, both non-combatant. Sending mail as often as she could, hoping they don't get caught in bandit raids or in just actual military skirmishes. She would visit more, but her teachings prevent her from being able to travel the distance to make it to them for any meaningful amount of time. While she does put up with her training, she does also mildly resent it for how little contact with them she gets.
No matter what, though, even through her loyalty, she is still always worried about people finding her mark, hence her hair and scarf. While she's annoyed with how long her hair is, she does keep it that long to help hide the mark. She has no great love for her teacher, but she does have respect for them having become so strong as to be able to teach future pupils to defend the empire when the time comes.
History: Annette's history isn't entirely the most eventful. She doesn't exactly know, or care, where in Fyrsang she came from, holding no particular like for the nation. The most she knows of this is that her parents managed to find a badly injured woman who begged them to take her daughter in. Her parents, bare and infertile and desperate for a child, accepted; even knowing that this child was a branded.
Her parents, both fairly low on the grand scheme of things within the empire, raised her in a small town near the border of the Belial Empire, raising her as the child they were trying so hard to make on their own. They taught her what they knew, raised her from a child into the girl she is today, proud of their child for being so bold as to try to make a better place for their family, even despite her brand. They tried their hardest to help her hide the mark as well, not wanting her to be strung up by some racist child looking for an excuse to let loose some steam.
She, herself, never really had many friends in the village, and despite the precautions her parents and herself eventually took, word did get out that she was a branded. While they didn't go as far as the parents had thought, they did refuse business to her, and even some of them refused the parents. People spat out curses to her, but through all of this, some of them still allowed them to continue their lives. Whenever Annette's will would falter of her people, those that weren't so cruel seemed to find her, reaffirming her faith in them, and giving her more drive to continue on. Eventually, she decided to get out of there, to allow her parents some peace and to be able to raise her and their standing in the empire.
In the capital of the empire, no one paid attention to her in particular, allowing her to hide her mark easier. She eventually signed up for the army, being unable to procure a job otherwise, and almost immediately her magical potential was seen. As mage happy as the Belilians were, they allowed her to study under a sage. She took this chance and is training as much as she can to bring herself to be useful to her home.
