    Right...
    UPDATE:

It's been a while since I played and since I updated too. I can't post everything in the exact order I did it, but you know how the game goes so nvm XD

I went through Mt. Moon and got to Cerulean, beat Rival and now I'm training my party to the north of Cerulean, going to Bill, before going to take on Misty. They're pretty low-leveled compared to many of the teams posted in this challenge at this point... maybe I'm lazy? ._. No advanced movesets yet either, of course.

    TEAM: (green sprites, lol)

Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge

    Charmeleon
    Lv. 17, Male

Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge

    Butterfree
    Lv. 19, Female

Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge

    Pidgeotto
    Lv. 19, Male

Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge

    Zubat
    Lv. 17, Male

I'm still toiling over whether or not to do Poison or Bug. Currently training Weedle and Bulbasaur, so the option remains open.

Poison it is then. I was trying to get through Viridian Forest, using Bulbasaur to help train up my bugs. Weedle vs. Metapod battles take too long.

    Mkay again...

    UPDATOE~

I got past all the trainers to the north of Cerulean, beating everyone of them of course, trying to train Pidgeotto and Butterfree as much as possible since Charmeleon would be lame against Misty. And Zubat wasn't really enjoyable to fight with at this point... Bite, huh. No good on Zubie.

I met Bill and got the SS Anne ticket. Then Misty got beaten by the awesomeness of Butterfree... though I think Butterfree fainted when Starmies HP was very red, and Charmeleon came out and finished it all XD Talk about stealing the show.

Went down towards Vermilion, catching a male Meowth along the road. Beat all the trainers, trying to make Charmeleon grow further, seeing as he was the only of my pokémon not yet weak to Lt. Surge's pokémon :x I also caught a male Magikarp...

Got on SS Anne and beat everyone there, including Rival without much trouble at all. I didn't know there was a bed functioning as a PokéCenter onboard in the Advanced version of Kanto games XDD Got the CUT HM.

Got out, beat Lt. Surge's Magnemite (I think?) and Pikachu with Butterfree actually (sleep powder is your friend) and the Charmeleon got to finish the Double-Teaming annoyance that was Raichu. Then I went through Diglett's Cave and got the FLASH HM.

Currently I'm beating all the trainers around Vermilion, trying to train Magikarp to Lv. 20 when I thiiiink it will evolve into Gyarados (Water/Flying, HAH) I'll probably go towards Rock Tunnel before that though. Since Magikarp is... pretty... slow on the grow...

Lol man, it's easy as ABC.

You don't try to level bug pokemon in a bug-populated area (i.e. Viridian Forest) - Bug is weak against bug remember?

Just do it in Route 22, or Route 2 if you're scared of an occasional Peck from the Spearows in 22.

That's pointless anyway as neither of the bugs in Viridian Forest learn a bug move until they evolve into their final forms.

Anyway, I re-started on a bug run. I chose Squirtle to start with so my rival would choose Bulbasaur (weak to Butterfree/Venomoth). So far I've just exited the SS Anne. Here is my current squad:

    Butterfree Lv.25
    Bold; Compoundeyes
    Confusion
    Poisonpowder
    Sleep Powder
    Supersonic

    Paras Lv.23
    Hasty; Effect Spore
    Bullet Seed
    Scratch
    Poisonpowder
    Dig

    Beedrill Lv.19
    Docile; Swarm
    Fury Attack
    Focus Energy
    Harden
    Poison Sting

I plan to get a Scyther as soon as I reach Celadon. Brock was a real problem for me at the start, he took ages to beat. Misty was a piece of cake thanks to Paras. Beedrill is really rubbish.

    Here's my fourth update:

    - played a lot of games for Clefairy and Porygon.
    - obtained a Clefairy.
    - played some more games and I finally obtained a Porygon.
    - trained Porygon and Clefairy.
    - challenged the Celadon City Gym and defeated Erika with Porygon. :)
    - went back to the Game Corner and battled the Rocket Grunt and invaded their Hideout.
    - battled all the Rocket Grunts and obtained the Lift Key.
    - defeated Giovanni and obtained the Silph Scope.
    - went back to Lavender Town and battled all the Channelers while going up.
    - calmed Marowak's spirit and defeated the Rocket Grunts and saved Mr. Fuji.
    - obtained the PokeFlute.
    - went to Route 12 and caught Snorlax.

    Party Pokemon:

    Pidgeot
    Porygon
    Clefairy
    Snorlax
    Bulbasaur (HM Slave)
    Rattata

    That's all for now. :)

    First water update!

Right now, my team kinda... sucks. All it consists of is Wartortle and Magikarp. In my defence; the next water Pokemon isn't avaliable for a while! But, I'm getting by. My Wartortle is like... insanely highly leveled for the beginning of the game, though. Anyway, here's the update:

    +Restarted the game.
    +Picked the starter Pokemon, Squirtle.
    +Delivered Oak's parcel.
+Caught a few Pokemon to fill the Pokedex and dropped them in the PC.
    +Trained Squirtle to Lv 12.
    +Headed toward Viridian forest.
+Got through it with ease training Squirtle to Lv 14.
+Went to Pewter and beat Brock with no problem; training Squirtle to Lv 16 and evolving him.
+Headed toward Mt. Moon, battling the trainers along the way and training Wartortle to Lv 20.
+Went through Mt. Moon, training Wartortle to Lv 24 and catching Pokemon to fill my PokeDex.
+Got to Cerulean and took on Misty; beating her with ease and training Wartortle to Lv 25.
+Beat rival (who I named Grass) and trained Wartortle to Lv 27.
+Went to Bill's; battling the trainers along the way.
+Went to Vermilion and collected my Old Rod.
    +Caught a Magikarp.
+Battled all the trainers along Vermilion; training Wartortle to Lv 32 and Magikarp to Lv 15. I am now about to enter the SS Anne.

    Team:
Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge

    LV 32

    Dig
    Bite

Fire Red & Leaf Green Monotype Challenge
