The place known as the 'Forest of Fear' is an extensive area, covered by trees of all shapes and sizes, with two villages on its outskirts. One, the village to the South, in fun-loving, happy and all around pure. The other, the village to the North, radiates evil and darkness even at the most happy times of year. The two villages have competed with each other since their foundings, and it all stems back to the first leaders of the villages; brothers who took different paths.

Now, with two thousand years of history behind them, it doesn't look as if the two villages will let up their fighting, and so, no one is spared from learning. Some are taught in weapons, and hand-to-hand combat, while some are educated in magics and curses. There are also those who know the art of healing, valuable assests to any side.

The fighting goes on, day and night, and there are always new bodies needed to continue the attack. At the current time, it seems that the south has taught their mages to fly, something that the north has yet to catch up on, and that the north has taught their warriors to use different lengths of weapons - something useful for defending against anyone.

    But who are you?

    My character~

    Name: Saiavia Dieagi
    Age: 22
    Gender: Female
    Alignment/Home Village: North

Appearance: Has olive green eyes with hints of greys and a ring of blue around the pupil, soft black hair with hints of deep, blood red highlights, which is worn long, and always has a bit pulled up into a messy bun shape at the back of her head, with the rest in three braids hanging down the back. She also has a very pale complexion. She is very slender and lithe, and stands at about 5' 4".
She wears a black shirt made out of a sort of silken material, with a bell sleeve over her left arm, and a simple, inch wide strap in place to hold the other side of the shirt. To accompany this, she wears a simple black skirt that is about ankle length, and slitted up both sides to just higher than the knee. Tied around her right knee is a dark red, blotched cloth, almost as if bloodstained. Around her neck she wears a strange amulet that has been carved into the shape of an eagle's head. On her feet, she wears simple, soft leather boots that have been dyed black to match the rest of her outfit.

Personality:--General: Very reserved, making her seem cold, though that could also be because she can be extremely vicious and sarcastic when around people who she does not know, or whom she simply dislikes. She enjoys being alone to collect her thoughts and literature in almost any form. She dislikes people who are obnoxious or nosey, including people who try to delve into her thoughts and feelings and try to get 'close' to her.

    Educated In: Magic
Weaponry: Her weapon is a long staff, used to cast her magic. It is made a dark, carved wood - cherry - and has gold and silver, curved inlays. Around the top end of the staff there are many small pieces of diamond and onyx inlayed. Her eagle's head amulet also holds small reserves of power, though she only uses it in desperate situations.

She has a black helmet; it covers the top and back of her head, as well as the sides. The metal at the sides of the helmet comes forward on both sides, meeting at a sharp point at her chin. The top of the helmet has a ridge and forms a point just between her eyebrows. The helmet ends with a sharp point at the back of her neck. All of her armour has sharp points in certain spots. Even though she wears her armour, Annika is strong enough to still run at full speed. The metal of her armour is tough; it takes a heck of alot of force to even crack it.

(|ooc - I think we can begin, though I'm hoping that others come and join on the South side. Everyone wants to be dark, it seems...|)

Saiavia's olive eyes danced in their sockets as her gaze flickered between the branches of the tree she was sitting in. She hadn't yet been dispatched to add her own force to the attack, and so, was simply sitting and waiting, on the edge of the village. Idly, she twirled one of her braids around her finger, and turned her eyes on a few children who were running around near the tree she was resting in, obviously taking a break from their lessons. An elder would come by soon enough, to tell them to practice instead of wasting valuable time - it had happened to her often when she was young.

She turned her eyes from the children and sighed as she stared ahead into the thick tops of the forest's trees. The Forest of Fear, it was called by outlanders. Not that she didn't agree. There was always fighting going on in among the trees, and it was never safe to stray too deep, because there were always scouts lurking in among the trees. The forest belonged to no one, and both sides ensured that the opposing side knew it.

But the Southern village had been oddly quiet today. There hadn't been any close approaches - wards would have detected them - and there hadn't been any scouts back calling for reinforcments. What was going on exactly?

She jumped from the tree, landing catlike on the soft ground below it, and headed in towards the center of her home village, known only as the village of the North. Perhaps someone had come in and she just hadn't seen them.

I'm bored; bored, bored, bored, bored, bored. Saphira was bored. She lay on the roof of her house, staring at the sky. Dark clouds tumbled and rolled over one and other, signaling rain. She sighed, knowing someone would find her eventually.

"Oh great." I mumbled as the rain fell down. "I'm the only one here and it's raining! How unlucky can I get?" I felt like making peace with the North since nobody is here. I'm the only person. What else can you do better? I took a deep breath, and started running in the rain. By the time I had reached the outskirts of my village my clothes were soaking wet. Can't get any worse that this, I thought..

"Saphira! Get down here at this moment! I know your up there!!" Shouted an angry man. It was Anto. She sighed again, knowing it was time for endless training. She didn't mind the training, and Anto was pretty nice, but he was pushing her too hard. Saphira was sore every morning now, and didn't like to move much. A battle was supposed to take place soon and she would be in it. Many kids her age would.

The forest was somehow dry, since all those leaves blocked the rainwater from coming down. There was a wet mossy smell though, that almost made me sick. This was taking too long. I didn't feel like turning back either, since it's always so boring. Everybody either died or retired from the last battle. I wasen't there, not a good thing....

Annika stood still. Still enough to be mistaken for a stone carving of a warrior. She stood, her drawn katana in hand, her dark eyes narrowed. On the edge of her village, on the egde of the forest, she watched the leaves blow in the wind as rain fell, making soft noises as it hit, and slid off of her armour. She stood when the others slept; she was a one man army. Unless...the odds were greater than one to four. Then was when she needed back-up.

Her gaze cold enough to freeze anyone unprepared in their tracks, Annika's hard gloves were slick with water, though her grip on her beloved sword stayed the same. Unbreakable.

"Come on, Saphira, block! How do you expect to save yourself if they attack?!" Anto teased, hitting her leg with a wooden sword. Saphira gritted her teeth and closed in on his, blocking some attacks, jumping, and hitting him. She was agile, but her defense was weak.

    Name: Itoko

    Age: 16

    Gender: Female

    Alignment/Home Village: South

    Appearance:

Itoko has long, brown hair that cascades down to the middle of her back. She is matched with a pair of delicate crystal blue eyes. She is fairly tall, and slender as well. For clothing, Itoko wears brown leather pants, and no shoes. A matching brown leather vest is thrown over top a dark purple tank top. She wears brown fingerless gloves, and a few rope bracelets. She usually wears her hair down, and some colourful beads hang from her side bangs. A purple bandana can also be found on her head. Around her neck Itoko wears a necklace with a tooth of a wold on it. She never takes it off for she is convinced that it holds eternal luck and happiness. It is also something her father had left behind before he died along with the rest of her family. On her arms, Itoko also has armour.

    Personality:

Overjoyed, and overly confident. These are the things to be expected from a villager from the South; and that is what you would get. Itoko is a kind and gentle person, always willing to help out. She started out depressed and discouraged when her family died, but she eventually learned to accept that there was nothing you could do about change. Itoko is outgoing and very athletic, and is never willing to give up the fight. For her enemies she wont hesitate to kill, but she will make it very fast so her enemy would feel no pain.

    Educated In:

Magic, although Itoko is very nifty with a sword. Itoko has control over the element wind, but in order to do so, she may often need a sword. itoko is also super speedy, which is in credit to her wind powers.

    Weaponry:

Although magic is her main priority, Itoko is covered with weapons. In her words, "You can never be too cautious~!"
Toko has one sword tucked gently in a shieth to her left, and a Kusarigama to her right. Tucked deep in her pocket she holds a chain, and a pocket knife which was also left behind by her father.

    I hope thats okay. ^^;;

Saiavia's eyes passed slowly over the dueling forms of Saphira and Anto as she walked, and she slowed down, before coming to a stop and leaning against a building near to where they were practicing, simply standing and watching. She ignored the rain that ran off of the overhang and fell on her head and shoulders, it was something that she was far too used to, to care about anymore. It was rather cold though, perhaps colder than usual?

Winter was coming, perhaps just around the corner, if the feel of this rain was anything to go by. Winter... It made it far more difficult to orchestrate any sneak attacks, and tracking was easier, as was spotting your enemy. This being so, it was the time of year when casualty counts began to rise - same amount of attacks, more of a chance of being killed because of less manuverability. It was quite stupid actually.

Her eyes regained their focus as she went back to watching Saphira and Anto, idly sliding her staff from it's carrying strap on her back and twirling it around in her hands as she watched.

This is too boring. I don't want to walk over there they'll probably kill me, I thought. I'll stay where I am, back in my south village. The rain seemed to stop while it was still pouring in the north. I walked to the center, where the team of leaders and specialists would always meet. There was nobody there. Wait a minuter, something told me. There might be a newcomer here soon...

The sun seemed to shine brightly in the South, but it was otherwise in the North. Itoko could tell, for the air was moist, and a few white clouds were quickly floating by. She was sitting thoughtfully against a barrel, gazing up at the clouds. The wind blew and played a game of tag with her hair. A smile spread across her face, as some villagers waved hello to her. Everyone was so kind here, just the way she liked it.

Muttering to herself, Annika sheathed her katana and took a step into the forest. "I cannot wait forever," she murmurs, barely above a whisper. For carrying her armour, she stepped silently. After a few moments of walking through the dense trees, she glanced back. No one was foolish enough to come into the forest alone, except her. Born into war, death in war.

Annika began walking again. It took a while, but she realized she must be near the heart of the forest. She knew where she could go to easily get to the southern village from here. Easily...It would not be easy. Surely they had people, guards, out here.

With strange agility, she climbed. Annika easily climbed up a tree and crouched on the branch, ready to attack any who come near.

I walked around. All those usual blank faces. How boring. I scanned the area with my eyes, as they spotted a person sitting on a barrel. Everyoen was waving to her. Is it her special day? Or could it be...a newcomer? I got excited, and ran over to meet her. "Hi, welcome to our village. Are you here to join our team? We need more soldiers before the next war comes, that I'm sure you know, right..?"

Scowling, Annika moved on. There was no movement here, so she could easily move on. Surely the others from her village would not approve of her foolishness...

She leapt to another tree. She stopped, though. She would not be able to leap silently, and perhaps infiltrate the southern village with her black armour...It would give her away. She sighed, and reluctantly began untying her armour. First, from her lags and arms, then her body and her beautiful helmet. The tree had a hollow in it. Annika gently rested her armour inside the hollow, which was large. Her katana and knife stayed where they were, just incase...

Annika easily threw on a coat. It was folded beneath her armour. It was long, almost down to her ankles. It concealed her katana. Sighing once more, she leapt to a new tree, and another one, until she was about three-fourths of the way there. That was where she dropped to the ground, and scooped a little mud into her hands.

For a cover. And only that.

She smeared mud onto her face, in believable proportions. She rolled up her sleeves and did the same, as well as on her legs. For her clothing...it was too clean. She repluctantly fell to her knees and onto her front, and rolled onto her back, dirtying up her clothes.

'Enough of that, now, it's nasty...'

Standing, she messed up her hair. Annika shook ehr head fiercly and messed up her dark hair. They would be sure to believe her now. She stepped forward, with a fake limp. Perfect...But no wounds? She drew her knife and, for the sakes of her villagers, made a small cut on her cheek. Another cut was made on her elbow, and a couple on her knee. Her clothing was dirty but not torn? She made cuts on her pants where her cuts on her knees were, and the same for her cloak. She made sure her blood was absent from her blade as she sheathed it, and stepped forward again, this time with a more believable limp.

Annika limped forward until she came upon the edge of the forest. She could see people out there. She gently pushed her thumbs into her eyes, making herself cry. Well, making her eyes well up terribly. She threw herself from the cover of the forest. She fell upon her knees and hands, before standing, looking for the attention she yearned for from these people. She would lie; she was wonderful at that.

Making her sobs audible, Annika easily limped into the village, her dirtied up self pitiful looking.

(EDIT: I feel REALLY nerdy...I just realized the length of this post ^^; )

Swing, jump back, lean back, step fowrad, parry, jump, attack... Saphira thought to herself, coming up with strategies off the top of her head. It worked. Anto would be feeling that tomorrow. He stepped back, leaning on his sword.

"Good... You're obviously praticing..." He commented, panting. Saphira practiced, but most people didn't think so. She only did at night, in the cover of darkness. "Care to try again?"

Without waiting for his young student to answer, he charged foward. Saphira jumped again, over Anto, pushing off his head with her hand and flipping in the air. Anto twirled around, and hit Saphira in the stomach, throwing her to the ground.

"Yes, you've definatly been practicing. But, you still haven't defeated me!" He said cheerfully, with a look of amusement on his face. Anto turned on his heel, walking away and whistling. Saphira sat up, clutching her stomach. She couldn't understand how he had such a cheerful attitude like the South, and yet have the weapon skills of the North.

Itoko looked over at the girl who had walked over to her, and smiled brightly.

"Hi, welcome to our village. Are you here to join our team? We need more soldiers before the next war comes, that I'm sure you know, right..?" the girl said, her tone full of pure excitement. The girl was about her age.

"Welcome?" Itoko asked. She wasnt exactly new to the village; she knew her way around, but she still wasnt a complete citizen.
"Thank you~!" Itoko contined, smiling brightly. "Yes, I knew about that. I have been pondering for a while about actually joining. I finally did~ The next war is in fact drawing nearer, the wind has told me".

Just as soon as Itoko finished her words, a gust of wind entered the village. It brought news to her. A stranger had entered the village.

Itoko turned her head just in time to see the stranger limp into the village. She narrowed her eyes at the sight of her. Clearly she was one of those which came from the Northern Village. Whispers filled the village, and the wind continued to blow, telling Itoko everything it possibly coul about this girl. With the sun glimmering of the armour on her arms, Itoko walked over to the pitiful girl, keeping her distance.

Itoko drew her sword from its shieth, and stepped forward.
"Who are you? And what is your business here?" she asked.
