Former sprite artist, getting back into the game!

Yeah, pretty much the title.

So I kind of forgot I made this account. Must have been around the time I started university. I haven't even set foot in a Pokemon forum since I was an edgy teen. Full of angst. If you can somehow identify me from way back when on Serebii or god knows where, let's just keep it to ourselves. Ugh.

So...hi.

I'm a graphic and web designer and I've recently been playing a few Pokemon ROM hacks, which made me want to get back into sprite art. I used to be really good at it, but I've lost my touch. So until I make new content that I feel is worth posting, I'll mostly just be quietly lurking around the art boards. I have some really old stuff that I may post if there's interest, but mostly I'm wondering how in the hell I managed to do it at 15 in MSPaint when I can barely do it now with professional tools. God.

I'm also interested in learning to make my own ROM hacks, after playing several (Liquid Crystal and Snakewood are my favorites so far). I have a decent bit of programming experience on the side so that's one less hurdle.

Haha welcome to PC Cloudberry! It's great that you've returned to PC after like a pretty long amount of time! I'm actually really surprised you've managed to remember your username and password. I would have forgotten it like after the first month so definite props to you! :P

I'm happy that our rom hacks have revitalized your love of spriting and I'd love to see the sprites you've made so you should definitely make a thread in our Art and Design Section! And you shouldn't beat yourself up over not being able to make a sprite like before. Anyone would have a hard time after quitting it for a while.

Anyways I hope you stay longer than before :P and I hope you have a great time here!

Bahaha tell me about it. At this point I have no idea how I managed to make pretty decent-looking sprite artwork when I was.. 13 years old in MS Paint? Those were the good old days. Big welcome back, Cloudberry!

Don't quite recognize you since I don't use SPPf but now that will all change now that you're back on PC. :3 Good luck getting spriting down again and I'll be looking forward to seeing your work when you feel comfortable posting!

welcome to pc cloudberry! that's good you remember your old username so you can log back in on here. that's really cool you're a graphic and web designer. i was going towards that degree, but i currently switched degrees again. i've played a couple of rom hacks, and they're a lot of fun. if you check out the pokemon rom hack section, you'll meet a lot of people who share the same hobby as you! let me know if you need any help or a friend, just drop a vm.
