Friday the 13th (The day, not the movie)

    Well, it's currently Friday the 13th here in Australia and I was wondering what people think of the day itself.

    I personally like the concept of freaky stuff happening on this day but I know nothing happe- oh crap, what was that shadow?
     
    I seriously thought that there was similiar topic to this one....

    Hmm.... I think it's a load of bogus.

    However, on a particular Fri. 13, I found fungi growing out of my tiolet. I was more pissed than annoyed that day...

    Still, I think it's bogus.
     
    My aunts house burned down a while ago on F13 but I guess it was just random. Freaked me out though.
     
    It's an amusing concept, but one that people take far too seriously at times. I don't really believe in luck in general, so I just tend to chuckle whenever I see people becoming overly superstitious because of the date.
     
    Paraskavedekatria-phobia is the fear of Friday the 13th. The name is creepy enough as it stands. xD

    I don't believe in any of the superstition and pretty much treat it like a normal day. It's a bit of a fun idea though, continuing on the old fears of Fridays and the number 13.

    But what's more important is that tomorrow is pi day! ;D

    February and March share the same days of the month when it's not a leap year.

    I got my first suspension from school on Friday the 13th, I also got inschool suspension the next year cornering close to Friday the 13th. Tomorrow? I wonder what kind of trouble I'm going to be thrown into. :D
     
    I tend to have a slew of bad luck on Friday the 13th. Really. But I dont let my superstitions cause me undue fear. I'm just careful on that day.

    I was proud to know that Paraskevi was the Greek saint "Friday" and dekatria means 13.

    Any month that starts on a Sunday will have a "Friday the 13th".
    If you've noticed, March fell on a Sunday; so did Feburary and November.

    Foxtel/Austar (Cable to you Yanks and... I don't know what for everyone else) usually does a Friday the 13th marathon on Friday the 13th, I don't know if they did one last month, if they did it's kind of pointless to put it on today. The next Friday the 13th is in November so they might do another marathon, seeing as it's 7 months apart.
     
    I actually have more luck on these days then any day! Last month we missed 3 hours of school and im hoping the same today.
     
    Our family's first dog actually choked on a bone and started to bleed internally, and we had to put him down on a Friday the 13th once.
     
    I don't believe in Friday the 13th, it's not a different day whatsoever.
     
    In my country we fear Tuesday the 13th, so today is like a completely normal day here XD

    Proves how much sense superstitions make.
     
    Personally, I don't pay it much mind. I give much more weight to National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, anyway. Nothing bad happens to me, at least not any worse than on any other day of the year.

    But I do like pointing out when (as it did last month) Valentine's Day directly follows Friday the 13th. Mostly for lulz.

    Besides, Bernie Madoff's unlucky day was Thursday the 12th, when he got hauled off to prison ;)
