From noob to novice to never been better

I think the only real change for me was added confidence. I was 20 years old when I joined PC, so puberty was done and I was all growed up already... so I don't think I've had any 'immature' moments to speak of; I've never typed lyk dis and I think the only things I've ever done wrong was post a thread in Other Chat that was supposed to go in OVP. Ironic considering I am now a mod here :P

But as I said earlier, the thing that has changed is my level of confidence and comfort here. I used to be scared of the staff - well, not scared of them as such, but I used to be very wary about not wanting to bother them because I was sure they were far too busy to deal with the likes of me :P and I was too timid to go in the DCC because I was pretty sure I would post and people would have just been like "no1curr".

I'm glad I've shed those things now, because they're really a hindrance to having a good time here. Once you stop caring quite so much what everybody thinks of you, it becomes a much easier place to enjoy :)

I really try not to think about my early days at PC.

I joined in July 2004, three days before my eleventh birthday. PC was like the first site I got involved with. I was screwed up, had no social skills, had no idea what I was doing and though I was the greatest person in the world or something idk. My username even oh god. A traditional mid-2000s name with six 'x's and four numbers in would have been better than that.

I left for a few years at one point and came back a much better person in July 2010. Still fairly immature but plus some social skills and forum/internet knowledge. But even in the two years since that I've changed quite a bit and for the better, I think. I hope. I just try my best really. I hope that's enough.

But yeah, I've changed. It's hard not to. I'm just glad PC helped me learn good habits.

idk, what people think If I improve or not, but yeah for me I have surely IMPROVE! :)

PC wasn't my first exprience with the internet. I joined a animal crossing forum on 2008 and it was a disaster. I was turned off the whole idea of forums, but then again I was only 9 years old.

I joined PC about 2 years ago, and I haven't really changed at all.

I'm still they guy who doesn't really socialise on here and just views the opinions and discussions of other people.

Oh my gosh I was such a noob back when I joined like a week ago!

But yeah, it's too early to tell in my case. I hope that I change for the better, but honestly, I'm grown, there's not much in terms of maturation, I think, that I can change at this point.
No trust me you're pretty good for a new member. If you hadn't made an introduction thread ai wouldn't have known that you were new.

God help me. My first encouter with another user on PC (ohmahgod) left me with scars in my psyche. Ofc it was my fault but that's why it's so bad. Lol

I think I've matured seeing as I haven't revived any threads or gotten an infraction yet. But I have gotten warnings so I see I still needs lots of work before I am mature.

I signed up here after visiting forums for 8-ish years, so I did a lot of maturing before I got here.

That said, I actually was looking at some posts I made at the oldest, still-in-existence forum I post at. Man, it's kinda embarrassing. I was also like 15-ish years old at the time, so that was probably part of it.

Let's all take a look at my welcome thread and cringe at the horror of it all!

Hello..... I'm new here, but not to vB Pokemon boards since this is the 5th I've joined (SPP, BMG, TPM and PWC are the others). Well, just came to say Hi........ OK you can stop looking now.... STOP IT!!!
(Full disclosure: I have no idea what TPM or PWC are in the context of Pokemon forums. PwC just reminds me of the accountancy firm.)

I'd like to think I've improved since those nooby days of 2004. Indeed, I must have improved considerably to become staff back in the good ol' days. Since then, however, I don't really know how much I've 'changed'. When I came back to PC after my absence, apart from being slightly shy around some of the new people, my writing style has remained constant, I've always tried to follow the rules and... yeah. I think I've been relatively consistent ever since I came back. All of my 'improving' happened between stints on PC, as I grew and improved as a person, in my own way. :D

I haven't changed much (if at all) since I joined since when I signed up I was 24 almost 25 so... not much to change in a little less than a year's time at my age. I've learned a lot though :D

I'd say I've changed quite a bit since my early days here. It's a bit hard to explain, but I feel like I acted quite differently as a person back then, not to mention that I in the beginning kept reviving dead threads around everywhere. Since I was only in the Emulation section all the time between summer 2010 to summer 2011, where I wasn't really active and never posted, it was quite different for me venturing out into the rest of the forum, which lead to a few screw-ups, though nothing major. After that I left PC, came back around January this year, and I feel like I had matured a bit since before I left PC, I made friends, and I felt like the return was a new start for me at PC, where I made it further than I expected at the time.

So in short, I was inexperienced with the whole forum stuff and screwed up here and there on a few rules and whatnot in my early days, though I left for a while and returned to try again with the forum, in which I don't feel like I've showed any signs of being a noob :p
