TV Fuller House

So 3 days ago Netflix released a sequel to the popular 90s TV series, Full House. It featured most of the same cast, in the same house, in a similar situation, but it was DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy as the adults this time around trying to raise 4 children. Have you guys finished season one yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

I was going to watch this, as a huge fan of the original, but based on reviews, it sounds like this is a massive cringe fest.

Which is a shame, because this had so much potential. Funny how "Stephanie" became the tallest by a mile though, haha.

I didn't find it cringeworthy at all! I laughed throughout the entire season haha. The entire returning cast is great and Max is absolutely hilarious.

I've only watched the first episode so far, but I plan to watch more! It had a charming premise (most likely because I liked the original series) and I absolutely loved the mary-kate/ashley olsen reference in the beginning. The one thing I didn't like about the series was the little boy, though. He just reminds me of a more high-strung Michelle from the original series. From what I've seen, it's a great show, I'll be sure to finish it =)

Decided to give it a shot since it was announced that a season 2 is coming. Lasted, oh, 3 minutes. Ugh.

I've watched two episodes thus far. It was really out of curiosity more than anything. I'm not really a huge fan of the original, but I wanted to see if they could improve upon it and maybe remove some of that 90's cheesiness.

From what I've seen... it's pretty much just like the original but with 2000's cheesiness instead. Kind of disappointing, but it's great for fans of the old show. My expectations weren't too massive, just a small hope. Like EvilChameleon, I found it massively cringe-worthy. But I'll still probably finish the rest of the season because I need something to play in the background whilst I do my art. Also I'm curious and have a pretty big tolerance for cringe. At the very least, it was still mildly entertaining.

There's only one thing I can't really tolerate as well, and that's the child characters. Particularly Ramona who I find to be a big stereotype thus far. My tolerance to children on TV is pretty low, but I'll try to ignore them and focus on the more entertaining older cast.

I binged it when it came out on Netflix, haha. I enjoyed it! But I also enjoy the original show and don't mind the cheese factor. 90's sitcoms are one of the few things I enjoy watching on TV anyway, so it didn't bother me. I'm glad that the show kind of grew up to match today's humor a bit, though. It's not playing entirely innocent (that Dairy Queen joke in the first episode omg) which I appreciate. I did find some of the pandering to the old audience to be annoying if anything, like mentioning old catchphrases and such.

The shade thrown at Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in the first episode was...pretty funny, ngl. lol

I saw the first couple episodes. It's even cheesier than the original.

I watched some of it myself. I have to admit, it seems a lot better than what people are making it. It's a bit hard to explain, but I feel like it draws me in. Sure, the jokes and such are probably cheesy as fuck. At first, I was a little negative about it. If you haven't noticed, it takes place with the same concept as the original does. However, once you get to watching it, the whole plot differs somewhat from how Danny first got Joey and Jesse to help him. DJ didn't want Stephanie and Kimmy to help her, but she eventually admitted to needing it.

So, in my opinion... it's cute. I'll give it that. XD Also, keep in mind that the possible reason for Michelle not returning is because the twins are older. They don't like as alike as they did when they were really young. I read somewhere that they had a hard time using both of them because they were starting to look more different from each other. Imagine having them include the two girls TODAY. It would be too obvious to viewers how different Michelle looks compared to her younger years if Mary Kate and Ashley shared the role.

Well, the obvious answer is they would use only one of the Olsen twins.

Unless they did in fact use both, on purpose, and make it obvious they know they don't look alike now.

Someone please give me a reason to watch this, because I'm sick of Hollywood reboots.
    Don't.

I'm trying to watch it now. And just...the acting? What's with kid actors these days, they overact so much.

I loved Full House, but I think I'll leave this one alone.

Actually watched a couple episodes since my post. Horrid.

Considering I've watched Full House every afternoon up until... well I never stopped. Maybe it's because the series kept my morals in tact or something BUT as a nostalgia freak, I'm not going to lie, I am biased with this reboot.

I get why it has gained a lot of hate, simply because that is to expected with any Hollywood reboot. Though honestly I'm really not even mad about it. Where was my life before this sequel?? How did I continue living prior? Now I can learn how to ADULT with the people that taught me how to survive my childhood.

Seriously though, I'm enjoying it. It gives a modern twist to the generation it held before and I think it was a really neat idea. Full House was always a cheesy sitcom, so it is really no surprise that Fuller House is a bit extra. It works. Everyone is still beautiful, and I am enjoying the shade being thrown at the Olsen twins. Especially loving the Spanish twist with Kimmy's ex-husband Fernando and her daughter too. Ugh. Yes. Mi vida es completa.

I loved the Olsen twin shade B) I hope it encourages them to come back for season 2 :(
