The online...god, please fix the online. How it can go from the near perfection it was in Gen VI to the absolutely disaster we had in the following two gens - with SnS being somehow WORSE than Gen 7 - is beyond me. It's really not that hard to make an intuitive and simple UI for online features. They managed it brilliantly with the sixth generation, locating everything to the bottom screen and having you tap very clearly marked and easy to identify icons to initiate trade, battle, and everything else. There was a lot of it, but it was clearly marked and didn't require excessive button presses or work arounds or bloody hindering awkward passwords that anybody could guess. For all its flaws, Gen VI's online was easily the best Pokemon has ever seen.
The Switch has a touch screen. It's only a single screen, but it wouldn't be difficult to create a swipe menu you could have half or fully open by tapping a small icon in the corner of the screen. There is so much they could do to make the online functional that DOESN'T involve locking it behind a ridiculous paywall. They need to do it, because online connectivity has been a thing since Gen IV and we're in the bloody eighth generation of video game consoles now and not the early 90s. For crying out loud. FIX THE DAMNED ONLINE.
...oh, and uh, skipping text and cutscenes, or at least adding a fast forward button. Because again, not the early 90s. If you're going to add the trashy paywalls, get with the times and add the quality of life improvements that come as standard for practically every other game on the market, Game Freak. Thank you.
