Suggestion: Game Development Requests

I may have missed it as I'm not a terribly observant person but it appears to me that game development should have a specialised requests sub-forum for requesting help and/or team members for what ever they are working on.

For example if someone is in need of an artist or mapper they can use this area to ask for help. I don't mean like the other request forum where you can ask for tile sets or specific sprites, rather I mean somewhere to ask for either long-term or short-term contributors to your project.

that's actually a great idea. i think that would give people a chance to see if anyone needs their help without searching the showcase

I'm no expert, but that seems like it would get very messy really fast. In addition, it wouldn't be hard using the thread Abnegation linked to if you state what you want. However, being as you may want something else, a personal PM could work?

Considering there's less than 20 posts in that thread, meaning less than a page of thread replies, a sub-forum would be useless. It would, also get very messy as WHISBII stated. It would be a pointless addition when we have an already functional thread for such motives.

I think that many people will be left ignored if using comments where the case. They could make a thread for the name of their game list of people they need etc.... Posting comments will lead to confusion and it just wont work. I do not see how it will get messy. I like the idea.

I mean I know there's already a thread, but I think having your own thread for a team gets more recognition, and people can reply easier than having to look at a thread, and then VM/PM the requester.

But in the end it's up to the Game Dev moderators.

Comments won't be messy as what the thread is suggesting. If you think about it there a lot of comments, but remember that you can always point it out if it isn't recognized.

Besides, keep a look out on it and you won't be flooded with post to scan through.

I never noticed that thread before. I do however feel that a sub-forum would be easier to keep organised and attract more attention (not to mention be easier for idiots like me to find). But as has already been stated it's up to administrators.
