So it seems everyone is running around, trying all the new pokemon and seeing what works best. I've done a few battles starting with a basic team, and after much tweaking, here's where I'm at.

    Avalugg @ Leftovers
    Ability: Own Tempo
    EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
    Relaxed Nature
    IVs: 0 Spd
    - Earthquake
    - Avalanche
    - Gyro Ball
    - Rapid Spin

I am loving this guy's defense. It can take just about ANY physical attack. Right now, Avalugg is functioning as my rapid spinner and (obviously) physical wall. It can strike back hard with either Avalanche or Gyro Ball, or heal itself back up with Recover. I put Own Tempo as its ability because I'm not using a hail team and weather doesn't seem to be very popular at this point in time.

    Scizor @ Scizorite
    Ability: Technician
    EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
    Adamant Nature
    - Swords Dance
    - Bug Bite
    - Bullet Punch
    - Baton Pass

Scizor is my fairy counter and baton passer. I can get rid of that fairy, then trade off the attack boost to either Avalugg or Hawlucha. Scizor is very popular so far this gen and it's easy to understand why. I prefer Mega-Scizor over Life-Orb Scizor because of the added defenses and speed.

    Rotom-Wash @ Choice Specs
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
    Timid Nature
    - Volt Switch
    - Hydro Pump
    - Hidden Power Ice
    - Trick

This is my first time using Rotom-Wash ever, and I'm loving it so far. Aegislash seems to be popular and I can Trick it into a choice specs while its boosting up that swords dance, forcing the switch and crippling that pokemon forever. I prefer Choice Specs over Choice Scarf because I can cripple physical walls instead of giving them that speed boost.

    Hawlucha @ Flying Gem
    Ability: Unburden
    EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
    Adamant Nature
    - Swords Dance
    - Acrobatics
    - High Jump Kick
    - Encore

I was skeptical at first, but this guy can, and will, kick some serious butt. I realized this when I had it set up and my opponent switched into a Ditto. It killed off nearly my entire team (hooray for Avalugg and that defense) before being taken down. I try to encore the opponent into a useless move, power up, then sweep. Hawlucha is also a priority to baton pass into from Scizor, automatically getting that boost. Unburden is amazing as nothing short of priority will touch it after I use Acrobatics.

    Volcarona @ Leftovers
    Ability: Flame Body
    EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
    Modest Nature
    - Quiver Dance
    - Bug Buzz
    - Fiery Dance
    - Giga Drain

Volcarona is here to add some special attacking pressure and act as a wall for enemy Scizor. It is the newest member of my team and does its job very well. Aegislash was a big problem before Volcarona came along, and now forces a lot of switches, allowing that quiver dance boost, and we all know what Volcarona is capable of after that boost.

    Haxorus @ Leftovers
    Ability: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 220 Spd / 252 Atk / 36 HP
    Adamant Nature
    - Dragon Dance
    - Dragon Claw
    - Earthquake
    - Iron Tail

If you looked at my team earlier, you would have seen Klefki in this spot. However, Klefki turned out to be the weak link and so I replaced it. In my thought process, I needed a counter for opposing Rotom-Wash as well as water attacks in general. I thought a dragon type would go well and Haxorus filled the spot. It's great because the Mold Breaker + Earthquake combo hits Rotom as well as Gengar and it has a pretty good steel move for fairies. In the very first battle I put Haxorus into, I was losing badly. Until I switched into a water move, used one Dragon Dance, and continue to sweep his entire team. I won, and it was all because of Haxorus.

I've had pretty good success with this team so far, but I feel like I'm missing something to really get this team to take flight. I still have a lot to learn about gen 6 (as does everyone else, probably), so I don't know if there are pokemon out there that are doing the same job as one of mine, but better. This is a slower and more defensive based team than I'm used to playing with, but I seem to be doing alright and I even snapped one guy's undefeated record out of twelve battles. My main concern is my lack of entry hazards, but I don't know where to fit them onto my team. Thanks for reading and (hopefully) reviewing!

Choice items + defensive set = big no-no. It's not guaranteed that you'll take a Leftovers from the opponent, and defensive sets really appreciate the passive recovery of Leftovers. You're better off using an offensive spread on a Choice set. They're meant to get in, hit hard, get out:
    -Volt Switch
    -Hydro Pump
    -Hidden Power (Ice)/Thunderbolt
    -Trick
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Specs

While it's true that Scizor can Baton Pass Attack boosts, it needs to be dedicated to that purpose. Remember that Blaziken and Scolipede can BP Attack boosts AND Speed boosts as well:

    Blaziken:
    -Swords Dance
    -Flare Blitz
    -High Jump Kick
    -Baton Pass
    Nature: Adamant/Jolly
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
    Item: Leftovers/Life Orb
    Ability: Speed Boost

    Scolipede:
    -Swords Dance
    -Megahorn
    -Poison Jab
    -Baton Pass
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
    Item: Black Sludge
    Ability: Speed Boost

If you are gonna use Volc i feel a Defog user is more useful than a Rapid Spinner tbh as it removes all hazards and cant be blocked which is an obvious bonus as volc is massacred by rocks. Something so consider.

You also lack Stealth Rock yourself which puts you at a disadvantage, id put in something to drop them.

Okay, I switched the Rotom-W set and I found it working really well, so I'll change that. However, when I tried out the replacement pokemon for Scizor, I found that I missed it. Scolipede's STABs don't have a wide coverage range and I found myself dreading to send it out because it can be so easily walled. Blaziken is an almost guarantee to be sent ti Ubers and unless I know otherwise, I don't want myself to be relying on a pokemon I can't have.

There's also another reason to keep Scizor, I don't need the speed boosts. They would be nice, but Hawlucha has unburden, so it already has tons of speed and Avalugg relies on that Gyro Ball, so the speed would actually hinder it there. Really, the only pokemon I would be passing to would be Haxorus, but I find plenty of time to set him up anyway, so that's not entirely necessary. Basically, I'm keeping Scizor for now. I'll change the original post to include any changes I have made.

    @Dark Azelf
I really want hazards, but I pondered for a while and I have no clue who I would switch out. If I did switch out somebody, then about half of my team would need to be replaced to cover up the hole that appeared. Avalugg is doing its job very well and doesn't have much trouble getting that rapid spin in, so I'm not sure if a defogger is necessary.
