I'm not sure I like this "same team throughout the whole tourney" rule, but whatever. We can change movesets between matches, right?

I oppose the banning of legendaries on the grounds that they do not offer a competitive advantage based solely on the fact that you can only obtain one per game. Because that does seem to be the major argument against legends-otherwise why would pokemon such as Phione get banned from these tournaments?
Some legends (not the really awful legendaries like Rotom, Moltres, Articuno, etc.) are good pokemon (Azelf, Cresselia, etc.). Some non legendaries are better. Who here honestly believes Entei to be superior to Blissey? Using Blissey makes the match easier to win, but not to the point where you may as well quit because of it. Should we all use the Luvdiscs, Pachirisus, and Chatots of the pokemon world just because it makes it harder to win games? Clearly, no. Why doesn't the reverse hold true? Why should we not use the best pokemon we can so long as they don't completely obsolete all others, leaving you with a handful of valid options? Don't argue that we're there allready with pokemon's current metagame; that would be getting into semantics and missing the point entirely.
I understand that some pokemon are ubers, and are too broken for standard play...but clearly this is not the major concern over banning legendaries. What I think most fail to realize is that most of the pokemon they dismiss as cheap have huge weaknesses. Articuno has a crushing 4x stealth rock weakness and overall poor stats. Azelf is very frail, and therefore hard to switch in and liable to take punishment with a dash of good prediction. Cresselia has awful defensive typing, and no offensive capabilities. Jirachi is helpless if it gets stranded. Of course I could go on, but it's not necessary because listing the weaknesses of some 'broken' pokemon is going to waste both our time...if you're flatout disagreeing, then a few more examples isn't going to convince you. Pokemon like Mewtwo are broken because they are not crippled in the areas their stats and moves support...who cares that Mewtwo has 3 weaknesses to common attacking types when it outspeeds almost everything, can ohko a respectable portion of usable pokemon, and won't die in a hit? Use your head.
But whatever, if you guys don't want to use legendaries it's not a dealbreaker. I just want to hear some valid reasoning as to why they should be omitted from standard play.
Edit: I just remembered that next Saturday, and most of Sunday, I will not be able to battle. So basically don't hound me if I'm not here.
