4th Gen Giovanni's fate..?

I'm saying he is not dead. Since the Hideout he was at is in Tojho Falls. The splash sound is probably just him jumping in the water and swimming out of the cave.

Yeah, I could see him deciding the Rockets aren't worth it and starting a new group instead. After all, Team Rocket is pretty incompetent... stealing Dig TMs and cutting tails off Slowpoke? And the teams the admins use aren't that great... a bunch of Koffing, Petrel? Okay then.

See, the way I look at it is, Giovanni is an incredibly popular character. He may well be the most popular villain in Pokemon, so why would they kill him off so unceremoniously? The player's friend doesn't even make that big a deal of it, I'd think they would have more of a reaction if he was drowning down there.

Also, he and Cyrus need to meet. Giovanni wants to take over the world. Cyrus wants to destroy the world. Yeah, that's gonna lead to some villain conflict. Bring 'em both back, set 'em against each other. Grab popcorn and enjoy.

i think its more of a motor of either a car or a helicopter. i dont think giovanni is the type of person who would commit suicide.

Yeah, I agree with this. Giovanni wouldn't commit suicide. I usually see him get around in helicopters, so he probably got in a helicopter.

hmmm, its kinda cool that pokemon has little stories that may have went the course of time withot ever being discovered. I honestly dont believe he killed himself,because as said before its Pokemon,not Gears of War!

I think he could have went surfing away or got a helicopter ride home,all I know is that noise scared the crap out of me.

P.S You should see the Arceus event in HG/SS that stuff is crazy, no seriously guys lets just say the producers probally got influances by an "outside source" if you know what I mean.

I just came here to say that there aren't suicides in Pokémon, so put that idea apart. (Not even the selfdesctruct and explosion attacks are real suicide)

he said Team Rocket was just an illusion, then runs out of the cave with an ominous noise. I think he was foreshadowing about a new team in the Isshu region, and he kept it secret until now because the he didn't want to be held responsible for the crimes of the other team, which will hopefully be a lot worse than stealing TMs and cutting off slowpoke tails. the noise is him jumping from the top of the falls into his boat, which is anchored at the bottom, then riding off to Isshu.

The splash is most likely just him leaving using Surf or something. There is no suicide in games aimed at 11 year olds.

It would be interesting if somehow he returned in Pokemon Black & White. Something intriguing about his dialogue is that he says "Team Rocket was just an illusion." Remember that Zoroark's ability is illusion. And it seems as though "illusions" are the main focus for the 5th Gen at the moment (mostly because of the upcoming movie). Just a thought...

HG/SS did Giovanni commit Suicide?

I Don't know if this in in the right section or not but I recently watched the English version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pExn-S7WduQ&feature=related) of the Giovanni event battle in HG/SS and noticed a few extremely noticeable quotes and a mysterious noise.

After Giovanni trembles from defeat and makes his leave, the normal *walking out cave* sound effect isn't heard, and instead there is this *SPLASH* sound followed by dead silence. As Giovanni's secret hideout was in Tohjo Falls, the entrance was directly next to the rapid waters and he could have committed (or attempted) suicide.

After the *SPLASH* sound, the radio signals in from the Goldenrod Radio Tower Team Rocket members "Where has Giovanni gone? I wonder if he's coming..." As if to give you the assumption that he is gone for good.

Ethan: "They keep calling their boss. I feel sorry that they don't know he's not coming".
Giovanni never told Ethan or the protaganist that he won't go to Goldenrod, how did Ethan know?
Does anyone agree with me that Giovanni might've committed suicide?


Other Alternate Theories Thought Up

1. Giovanni used Waterfall to get out of Tohjo Falls, thats why there was a splash noise.

Reason to disagree: None of Giovanni's Pokemon are capable of using Waterfall, and to get to his hideout, you go through the Kanto entrance. Which has no need for the Waterfall HM.

2. Giovanni dived and swam out.

Reason to disagree: Sharp rocks! High cliffs! Deadly!

3. Gone to a secret island to enjoy his life with John Lennon, Jimmy Hendrix, 2Pac, and Michael Jackson.

Reason to AGREE: OHHH YAAA

No, I'm pretty sure that's a splash. I don't know how to explain it, but it has the right... effect, I guess? I can't think of any reason why the radio would suddenly have a burst of static anyway, it seems a bit of a random thing to do just that one time in the game for no reason.

Either way, I seriously doubt Giovanni is dead. I've said it before and I'll say it again: they're not going to kill him off so unceremoniously in an event. He's pretty much the most popular villain, if he goes out he's going to get a big sendoff.

Oh, one more thing... the original post asks how Ethan/Lyra knew Giovanni didn't go to Goldenrod. Well, he never showed up at all, right? The kids are from the future, remember, and already know Giovanni never went there. They figured history didn't change, and of course they're right.

I listened to it and it sounds much more like static to me. Burst of static, then the radio starts talking again. Basically, I'd say the static was there to make you understand that it was the radio that was talking, not Ethan/Lyra or Giovanni outside.

^ I don't think that this implies Giovanni committed suicide; this could have just been said because Giovanni was talking about how his dreams had been crushed again, implying he's just giving up on that :P
