Hello everyone, i'm Filippe999(spoken Phillip nine hundred and ninety nine :P)

I'm a pokémon movie fan for the most part, but I also enjoy the games, even though the only one I thoroughly played was Yellow version for the GB Color in my GBA SP.
Recently, I've acquired a Lucario touque, and with it, my will to try out the new games, specifically X/Y and Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby.
So, as an old pokémon player, from Yellow, are there any tips to playing the new games?

    Thanks, Filippe999

I adore the movies too. My favourites are Pokemon 2000, and Pokemon Heroes in fact! Pokemon the First movie was also pretty cool! Mmm, and yeah, I remember playing Pokemon Yellow as my first pokemon game. Great times, playing with loads of friends! At any rate, thanks for joining us; welcome to the forums! I'm Dragon; nice to make your acquaintance today~

Mmm, well, if you have a 3DS, then yeah, I'd recommend playing Pokemon X&Y, as well as Pokemon ORAS maybe, but X&Y has great features like customizing your trainer! Pokemon ORAS is great for nostalgic purposes, so, it's all a matter of preference really. Personally I like all of the new games, but yeah! Anywho, if you have any more questions about pokemon, or if you have any questions about PC, you can VM or PM me anytime! Have a lovely weekend~ <33

Hello to you as well Filippe! Awesome to have you around.

I never watched the movies that much, although I still watch the main anime from time to time, and of course playing the games a lot. So, apparently you have not played anything past 3rd Gen? So much has changed since then, but good to hear 6th Gen is getting you back into the series. The tips had already been covered by he who posted above this, so not much else I can expand on here for now.

Good luck with everything and do enjoy your time at PC!

Hey Filippe, welcome to PC! There are a bunch of forums you can look in to answer any questions you may have about the newer Pokemon games, but most of the things you need to know can be found out by just playing the games. Good luck on your adventures, and enjoy you stay here~

I'm not good at broad questions like requesting tips in general but I'm totally down to answer more specific things if you'd like someone to message. :3 All I can say is to not get rid of your Destiny Knot when you get it since it's very valuable in breeding nowadays due to it passing down the IVs to offspring Pokemon. In OR/AS especially it's pretty tedious to get your first one much less another.

But yeah.. things've changed a lot with Pokemon since Yellow haha. The game's very easy to adjust to though so I'm sure you won't have problems, especially if you plan to stick around PC and ask if you have questions. Welcome, Filippe! Enjoy your time here. :D

thanks for the answers guys. Unfortunately, all i managed to play in the entire pokémon series thoroughly is Yellow, never managed to get my hands on the precious Emerald :(.
I did try Platinum on the emulator when it came out, but I gave up quickly, playing on an emulator at 2/3 speed and not having the satisfaction of mashing B to grind levels :P, my best moment of that playthrough was capturing a female Riolu.

    WELCOME TO PC!

Movies... I remember the first movie I watched - Pokemon First Movie... I cried like a baby but that was years ago... and then I watched again after another set of years and still cried like one, haha.

So, have you since played the other games or still in process of doing so? As many other said, there's a lot of things changed and everything gets advance... it's fun playing the old games for old times sake, ahh the nostalgia!

Lucario is an awesome pokemon, huh. It's one of my fav too!
