I'm doing alright, thanks for asking. What's on day 2's line up?

Setsuna again?

The exciting thing is that I don't really know. The whole theme of the live is that everyone has different solo songs and they shuffle who sings who's songs. So maybe they'd have different combinations or do the 2nd set of solos instead of the 1st set. I stayed off Twitter yesterday to avoid spoilers, but now that I'm back on I haven't been seeing people post about day 2 of the live, in comparison to how day 1 blew up people's feeds and apparently was trending in the US. So I'm really curious about it all.

There is, but I've heard from people it didn't happen. It's the context behind my user title actually. Setsuna's first solo song is named CHASE, and I wanted to see another girl (Miyutan) to perform it instead of Tomoriru (who plays Setsuna) because I thought it'd be a great fit for her and it'd just be super cool. There's this part of CHASE where Tomoriru just shouts super loud, and I'd love to see Miyutan do it. On day 1 CHASE was performed by someone else, and I heard from a friend that Miyutan didn't perform CHASE in day 2, that's all I know about it.
The performances of some of the songs that are underrated like Evergreen were really good though, and I wanna see those songs that don't get enough love end up getting more because of this live.

Uhhhh... a lot. Big ramble here.

If we're talking just Nijigasaki, there are three albums. The first two contain 10 songs each and the third has 12 for a total of 32.
Then there are 3 singles with 2 songs each, that makes 38.
11 insert songs in the anime make 49.
Then there are sub-units, which are smaller groups who sing together inside the main group. Nijigasaki (currently) has 3 of them. They've all done three sets of one song each bringing up the total up to 58. Then each of them are in the process of releasing short versions of their 4th songs which are all themed around a specific concept. DiverDiva's is a summer shrine visit, AZUNA's is for Cat Day, and QU4RTZ has one for Christmas that hasn't been released yet. So that's 60 with QU4RTZ's song on the way to make 61.

As for the other groups, μ's is known for having a lot of songs, totaling at least 120 for the 4 years they were active for, which includes their albums, singles, insert songs, duo and trio songs, sub-units, all that. But there are different solo mixes too. For example, Snow Halation is a μ's song sung by all the members, but there are different solo versions for each member specifically. This means that technically these group songs have 10 versions each: One for the group and nine for solo mixes for all the members.

Aqours has a lot as well, probably at least 100 if I had to guess? Aqours just didn't get as many solo mixes as μ's did until now, where they're releasing solo albums for each member on their birthday. Aqours will probably hit the same amount as μ's has and likely go even further.

There's a fourth main group, Liella, but they're pretty new and only started making songs this year, so they've only got about four.

Then there's several smaller groups or songs that just don't fit in anywhere. Songs for characters in the rival groups, fit in here for example, so there'd be about 15 of those.

So yeah. Short answer, there's a lot.

There's a ton of variety actually! I figure people are pretty quick to guess that Love Live is just all J-Pop and while it mostly is, there's a lot of different stuff. The quickest way is to probably send you some links and just have you listen to the differences. I think it's super easy for people to find their favourites because of the amount of variety. These are all from different sub-units in the same group, but vary pretty heavily. It's pretty noticeable without even listening to the full songs.

What do you think, Nator?

It's good that there is some variety. Their music can appeal to a wider fan base. Not everyone is a fan of Pop, J-Pop, or K-Pop. The last one is rock-esque.

So, CHASE is your favorite song. What genre does it fall into? What's your favorite genre?

Setsuna?

It's definitely great to be able to show people the variety in the music and see people who wouldn't normally be a fan of that kind of thing still enjoy it. A friend of mine made fun of me a while ago for enjoying "anime" music but apologized to me a while ago after she started enjoying the music in another anime she watched and I was able to kinda clear up her assumptions about it. It was a nice conversation to have with her.

Surprisingly, CHASE isn't even my favourite Setsuna song or my favourite solo. It came up in the live because they were doing the first set of solos. I don't really know how to define music genres but I'd definitely say all of Setsuna's solos are J-Rock. I'd probably have to say J-Pop is my favourite genre followed by J-Rock, because they were the genres that actually got me wanting to listen to more music. Before all this idol stuff I never really cared to listen to anything, and wouldn't pay attention when people talked about music around me.
Now I kinda just have a taste in music that's just as "weeb" as I am...

I previously mentioned a part of CHASE where Tomoriru just shouts super loud, here's a link to a video for context, from all the different performances.

She's got a set of pipes on her. She holds that note for a while. It's good to see the singers are really into it. It makes for a much better experience.

It's nice that idol got you more interested into music. It's the universal language. Even if you don't understand the lyrics, the music in and of itself can be shared and appreciated by everyone. I can't imagine a world void of sound.

Setsuna?

Absolutely! I love that smile she has right at the very end of the video after the last shout.

I think sometimes with songs you can enjoy the music but dislike the lyrics and that's not something you have to worry about if you listen to any music from a different language if you don't wanna look up lyrics or find translations. Usually I'll do it just so I can appreciate the songs more if I listen to them again, and the songs in the anime fit really well into the story with the songs representing that. There's one character who has an episode about being unable to express her feelings because she has difficulty smiling and can't approach people easily, and has a song about how she learns to express her feelings through her songs and connect with people. It's really neat that they still have some meaning behind them whether you know the language or not.

Nator?~

Yeah, a real world example similar to the character that has trouble expressing her feeling is there's artists that have a stutter or other speech impediment but, when they are singing you wouldn't know. The words come out sharp and clear.

Music has the ability to heal and there's even studies done that show it has a positive response on growing plants.

Setsuna?

That's super neat actually, I love that! I'm definitely not really someone who's that interested in music at all, I don't really know much about it, but it's nice to just enjoy the music I do enjoy.

Nator?

Oh, for sure! You could be having a bad day and you turn on some music and it transports you somewhere else. I like to close my eyes and just listen and hear the notes. Just enjoy the experience.

Setsuna

For some reason, music has always made me comfortable on crowded public transport. It's my favorite place to use Spotify.

My family likes country music...even though I dislike 90% of it, I associate it with "happy family times". So sometimes I just turn it on anyways.

Roni

This might sound surprising, but I'm into gangster rap. My highschool friends turned me onto it, because they would blast it on speaker when we walked home together from the bus stop. Other than that, almost everything. Classical Music (even stuff like beathoven), 50's rock, 80's rock, early heavy metal.
