Happy (late) New Years and welcome to PC! Like Kamijou said, the best place to find battling tips is at our competitive section. I haven't battled competitively since the 4th gen but I can certainly recommend it for any and all information. And don't forget to check out the Trade Corner if you want to do more with the PC battling / trading community!

The battle server is a good place to battle yeah, I'm into breeding competitive mons myself but enjoy having more people to battle through Showdown, since you don't need to breed your teams in a game to battle there. Good luck learning and welcome Nick! =)
