4th Gen Hardest Gym Leader?

I haven't gotten too far on the actual DS game yet, but on the ROM the only Gym Leader I had issues with was Whitney. Actually, she's really the hardest out of the bunch to me every time I play a gen 2 game. I remember destroying Morty with my Togepi.. and the ones after him I didn't have too big of an issue with either.
 
The hardest for me was probably steel because steelix's defense stats were annoying!!

..or maybe I was just under level haha
 
For me, it was that witch Sabrina.

She only has three Pokemon, but they're high-levelled, fast, and the first gazillion times I fought her I got absolutely swept by Espeon, her very first Pokemon

Fighting types are generally so /meh/ that I never carry them around. :x
 
Whitney in both gen. II and IV. Rollout was the most broken move during that battle, and though I was sad to see it go, Stomp and Milk Drink gave me just as much of a headache.

I haven't finished the game yet so I don't know. but...

you say you're broke? why? you don't save the game before you go into a gym battle? 'cause if you do you can just reset and try again if you lose and not lose any money.......
 
Clair and Blue for me I HATE THAT KINGDRA!!!
Whitney for me was a piece of cake Heracross, Brick Break PWNAGE
 
haha im guessing you started with chikorita. Id have to to put my money on the Wendy (thats her name right?) and Clair. Miltank is such a beast and you cant really get a fighting poke that early so forget overpowering it. the way i see it their is only 3 ways to beat her
Just over power her with a full party thats 20+
Get lucky with critical hits

As for clair she is just strong especially with that kingdra. their is really an easy way to beat her and a hard way.
easy way- catch a swinub and maybe a seel, train, evolve ice! ice! ice!
hard way- starters arent much help and dragons are pretty much resistant to most elemental attacks so unless you trained a geodude or onix its gonna be a tough fight.

Should I explain why I hate the pokemon miltank now? Falkner was my second, though. Because all I had at the time was a chikorita, xD
 
i only have one word: Whitney
even in the original gold, silver and crystal she was hard to fight.
 
Whitney is obviously the hardest gym leader in my opinion, her Miltank is so hard to fight. I was lucky enough to fought her with a female starter, which made things easier. =)

The easiest was Jasmine, the fight was like :

Jasmine sent Megnemite ! Typhlosion used Flammerthrower ! Magnemite is KO !
Jasmine sent Megnemite ! Typhlosion used Flammerthrower ! Magnemite is KO !
Jasmine sent Steelix ! Typhlosion used Flammerthrower ! Steelix is KO !

Which made me laugh. %)

I really don't remember. I know Whitney didn't give me much trouble for some odd reason. I think that I probably had the most trouble with Falkner (sand attack) or Pryce.

My Magmortar gave her the same treatment!! :D But I hope he didn't burn her hair or her dress... :(

I hadn't lost, I planned how to battle the Leaders and Elites... I used my 10-year-knowledge to "revenge"... It was like PAYBACK!! TAKE THAT!! THAT AND THAT!! I whited out lotta times from all of these bullies back in the day when I was still 8!! After 10 years.. I won Purr-fectly!!!! 8D
 
(In no particular order...)

1. Falkner. His Pidgeotto kept using Roost and it got on my nerves.

2. Jasmine. Hated it when she used Sonic Boom with her Magnemite.

3. Clair. Was just a pain. Thunder Wave, Dragon Rage and Dragon Pulse. I did make short work of her Gyarados, though. Then to add insult to injury, she used 2 Hyper Potions in my match and continuing with the fact that most types aren't that effective except for Dragon and Ice-type moves.
 
In HGSS it was probably Clair because I didn't have a Dragon or Ice type at that point. I haven't had much trouble with Whitney yet but that may be because on my first runthrough I had a Machop (Low Kick kills Miltank) and on my second runthrough I had an overleveled, female Quilava with Fire Blast.
 
Whitney and Chuck, they were both horrible! Suprisingly though, milkank didn't even use rollout much on my team but it still was as hard as nails, plus attract was annoying too! Chuck.... That stupid poliwirl was mega tough... it took me like 7 trys till I beat him! All the other gyms were easy to be quite frank :\ Although I had a little trouble with jasmin and her pokemon the first few trys but that was just because my team was a bit low on levels! :D
 
Whitney always gives me problems...

on a side note, Falkner is sexy. It took me a while to realize that.
 
tate and liza the lunatone kept raising defenses solrock kept ko'ing me with flamethrower their levels were too high for thatpoint inthegame and double battles screw with me easiest is wallace/juan he couldnt even touch shedinja
