Bricked is the term for taking a device, DS, PSP, IPhone, ETC, and through some means, making it totally inoperable, and and useful as a brick........Hence the term "Bricked"

"Bricked" the worst thing that can happen to ANYTHING, whether it be a computer, or a hand-held device, the simple question is have you ever bricked anything you own Yes or no and if yes.......how did you brick it?

I admit i bricked my Action Replay one night by jostling the connector cables while files were downloading to it.

    Lol.
Well, I'm sure I've done something that before... let me think.

    I have...
    Smashed a watch.
Set fire to an alarm clock.
Dropped a computer moniter from the top of a tree.
Whacked a GBA and a GBA SP against my forehead.
And accidentally dropped two different Digimon in two seperate puddles.

    Yeah...
Oh! I also threw a Tamgotchi out of a second story window. =)

I wouldn't call that "bricked" i'd call that abuse, and what did the Tamogotchi ever do to you?

Well, it may be more abuse than bricking.
But, either way, they're useless to me now... just like a brick.

And the Tamogotchi got boring, so I introduced him to the pavement. Via my window.

I made my NES and PS2 worse trying to fix them, but since they were virtually unplayable anyway, I don't count them.

I bricked my iPod nano by accedendley dropping it. Lucky that I bought an iPod Touch

Nope, never bricked anything. I'm too careful. I have come close to it though. I was softmodding my iPod Nano when I effed up the installation rendering the software useless. Fortunately, Apple made the iPod so that it was detectable by a computer in most any state or condition, and it was recovered.

I hardly ever mess with the firmware of any of my devices, so I have never bricked anything. The only messing with firmware I've ever done is putting DD-WRT on a Linksys router I bought (DD-WRT is awesome), and that went without a hitch.
I do tend to panic whenever I update the firmware on a device, though (due to all of the bricking horror stories I've seen).

Oddly, I've never bricked anything new like a PSP, DS, etc...
But I did brick a Game Boy Color when I was like nine (well, actually more like fried the insides).

I did it by attaching wires to six batteries, and then connecting them to the metal parts inside of the battey compartment... My nine year old understanding of electricity made me think that I would get three times as much battery life out of it... Instead, when I turned it on, it made a small *beep* sound, then a crack sound and refused to turn on anymore... :<

This was like... Ten years ago, I think? I remember it like it was yesterday though.

I had such an interesting childhood...

I've bricked 4 hard drives in my lifetime. Luckily they had nothing of interest or value on them and the largest capacity one was 20GB. XD All of them with my old self built computer made from computer parts salvaged from dumpster diving.

    That doesn't count as bricked.

The only things that have had chances of being bricked for me are my DS and my Wii. Both of them are fine. My DS has virtually no risk of being bricked since flashcarts don't tend to brick them. Only FlashMe or the sorts do it.

I bricked my W760 after it falling in the toilet. How? 2 days later mister smart over here thought it a good idea to take my phone and shock it with a car battery. Luckily all the water dried out through so much electricity but 5 minuts later it just went kaput from oversurge. Fun as hell though to see the screen just go black.

I put my mobile through the washing machine in my jeans pocket. Oh, and I once accidentally let our rabbit take my GBC. I don't know exactly what she did to it, but next time I found it, she was sitting on top of it, the screen was cracked and it fizzled when I tried to turn it on :P

I bricked my cell phone by putting it in my swimshort pocket and going for a swim. @~@

Luckilie, the SIM was stil alive, so I got a replacement. :D

    But my DS suffered a faith not so good. My mom got me grounded. ;_;

Nope, I'm much too protective of my stuff to let anything happen to them XD

Nah, I never got my stuff "bricked". For one I am careful. Well maybe I did drop my DS Lite on the ground, but it wasn't too bad. Just a a few scratches on the cover. As long anything didn't get inside, it is fine. But I won't count that as being "bricked". I don't mess with the configuration of some items I have. I leave them alone. I don't want to end up breaking them. And make them unplayable. I am illiterate when it comes to hardware and stuff for electronics. XD

I haven't bricked anything. But . . . I know that my bro has done once.
But that was the first time ever.
