4th Gen HeartGold/SoulSilver Speculation

They used them to make pokéballs, special ones like Fast/Lure/Heavy/Moon Balls. I forgot the name of that forest too. I never even knew it was called Ilex, I thought that was some special forest that you had to unlock. Shows how well I know Johto.

Yes, his name was Kurt. I'm sure he'll be back, but the apricorns are hard to tell if they'll come back or if berries will take their place.

Maybe the apricorns and berries will both make an appearance. I would prefer the berries over the apricorns though.

Apricorns might not return because we have more useful Pokéballs now. Also I think some of the Pokéballs Apricorns use to have, is similar to some of the ones we have now. I wouldn't mind if berries replace the apricorns, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

The only reason why I would think that the apricorns might not return is because DPPt had nothing to do with it, and seeing as how it can be a traded item it can screw with the compatibility. The only way I see them going around this, is if any Pokémon holding an apricorn will cancel a trade automatically because DPPt cannot recognize the item. Still, there;s a chance for return and then there is a chance for having it gone.

The berries on the other hand, who knows they just might come up with the idea that it can now be turned into Pokéballs, (doubt it) but you can never tell. For berries, it'll also keep balance with WiFi Competitive battling, Contests, and other helpful status and EV training uses, seeing as the new ones help with it.

Or they change it so that you can use apricorns to make the new pokeballs. Most likely only the old balls (Poke, Great, Ultra) would be buy-able.

I ope they keep the apricorns, they could just make it GSDS compatiable, please? And not repalce the original Pokéballs with the stupid new ones, I never even got why they didn't keep the others ones, and decided to make a new Pokéball since you already had the same one already! Berries, since I don't use them, screw 'em.

Honestly I want to see Nintendo make a Celebi event. >_>;

Anyway, I think that they will give Lugia and Ho-oh larger roles and such, as well as making them versio exclusive (-_-). And the bottom screen is more than likely the PokeGear.

And in my other opinions I think it will just win. :3

If Apricorns return (which I hope they do), I could see them being held in a pouch like the Pokéblocks and just not being able to be used as held items. That would solve the compatibility issue right there without even having to restrict trade.

Maybe apricorns could be the new thing you make for contests. If they do happen to make contest then maybe apricorns, instead of making them pokeballs, they could be food for the pokemon. I don't know how it would work, but if the apricorns are left out then I wouldn't mind that much. I do hope they put in berries though.

That isn't a bad idea at all, and I think I would like for them to do that. It'll be like a win/win situation.

This idea is pretty cool, I wouldn't mind it actually happening. Then we would have both apricorns and maybe berries and that'll be awesome.

I agree, they aren't needed. If any Islands really had to be put in, then the Sevii Islands would be my first choice.

well, sevii islands, as well as orange islands, were just filler SI is filler to the game, OI is filler for the anime- i think both would be pretty useless- OI has a bit more of something resembling a plot though- it would be a better way to get lugia- tell me if i'm wrong, but uhh..... seaform or seafoam, something like that- the island where lugia was was pretty much irrelevant- the only thing i remember is that bad kids were taken there to be punished- sorry for ranting again

Orange Islands were just anime filler, and as such aren't going to be in the GS remakes - nothing to do with the games and not game Freak's stuff (and when they did use islands in FR/LG? Made Sevii instead of take the Orange Islands, due to the above and so forth). There could be the (small-ish) chance that the Seviii Isalands return, as they were actually made by Game Freak, but we shall have to wait and see.

BTW in GSC, Lugia was on the Whirl Islands - and that would repeat itself in these remakes, I would think - heck, they are remakes after all, and how Game Freak decided it in the first place, so I don't see that changing.

That gives me an idea....Maybe if they use the Apricorns to make special Pokeballs specifically for Contests. (Similar to having seals on a pokeball except it's the Pokeball that has the specific effect on it.) For example, if the Love Ball is used, Hearts of all different colors (including Gold) can fly out when the Pokemon is let out of the ball. Idk. It would be nice, though, if they had contests in the game. I just hope the Apricorns are still there and that we get Lure Ball, Friend Ball, Love Ball, Fast Ball, etc...

As with the Whirl Islands, I would like to be able to use Dive (along with Whirlpool) near the islands....

I sincerely doubt Dive will be a HM. Whirlpool, sure, it is a Remake after all. But we couldn't dive underwater before..

Pokrmon Sunday should give us some small tidbits, we've also got E3 soon, and CoroCoro. Hopefully we get some news from all of it.

That's what I thought too, at first.
But did you know?
In Platinum, You can attach the Griseous Orb to any Pokemon.
Then trade that Pokemon to Diamond, Pearl.
However, GO did not exist in DP.
So that might be the same situation for the Apricorns.

If the Apricorns are not gonna make a reappearance,
I think there are some berries that are possibly replacement:
Berry No.16-20, 27-32 can replace the Apricorns, because they have no other use other than Poffin Ingredients in DPP...
