4th Gen HeartGold/SoulSilver Speculation

I would love to see the ability to re-battle Gym leaders again. So far, we can re-battle the Hoenn Gym Leaders in Emerald and the Sinnoh Gym Leaders in Platinum. All that is left is the Kanto and Johto Gym leaders which can easily be done in HG/SS assuming that Gamefreak doesn't blow this opportunity away.

Otherwise, we probably won't be able to have rematches with the Johto gym leaders ever again unless they use the region again in the future. Same goes for Kanto although I am getting a bit tired of seeing that region in every Pokemon generation so far now.

Kanto is really starting to bore me. It needs some kind of rejuvenation, and hopefully, providing its included, the 3d aspect would help, but only to an extent.

New features would be needed, for sure.

top trainer cafe? ive never seen it. But if we could go back and battle the gym leaders in the gyms again but the gyms get updated and we have to face the trainers as well.

This doesn't surprise me as not everyone got Platinum. In Pokémon Platinum we had a special building where on certain times Gym Leaders would come to visit and we could rebattle them there. They would have new Pokémon, and some of their older ones would have evolved by then. There levels would be higher, and it was basically the place where we could rechallenge them other than going back to their gyms. This made sense as we were never given a phone or app like what the PokéNav had in Emerald or what the PokéGear gave as well. So, with this I don't know if we'll really have the Trainer Cafe like what we had back in Platinum, because of the phone. Though, if the Sevii Islands are brought in, there might be a possibility of them adding it there. Even if we have to go back to their Gyms and back to the Elites for a rematch, I'd still appreciate having to battle them again, hopefully with strong levels, stronger Pokémon along with some of the new ones too.

In platinum, where is the cafe, i just beat the E4.

It is the second "house" over from the Pokemon center on the left side in the Survival Area. On the island in the top right of the map with Stark Mountain, it is the area on top (south-west of Stark Mountain)

Yes, it has been about ten years now that the game was released simply in the states and as a lot of us were younger, things can easily been slipped. I think that is why many game players are going back to the original Gold and Silver games [if still kept] for some good fresh memory nudges. Anyway, it is unsure of if we'll have the Battle Frontier in the remake or not. Not enough information on this has been revealed through any CoroCoro scans or the Pokémon Sunday Show. Neither has any leaks about anything been out as yet. It's still early and we'll have to wait and see. Though, many people presume it'll not appear as it was in Platinum. Many hope that Kanto will be chosen over it as it was in the originals and will add back the nostalgic feel once again. Though, people also speculate that the Sevii Islands will be added in with Kanto as well, but we'll have to basically wait and see. I wouldn't expect much infor on this as yet, as they news is slowly progressing.

Going to Kanto after completing Johto would be better actually, as I was five when i was playing it and never had the experience of two regions in one game.

I have never had the chance to properly play a johto game. I was lent crystal, but didn't have much chance to play it. I can't wait for the remakes to come out in England. But at least I have platinum for the time being.

aww sorry XD I meant Survival Area, not Fight Area :(

I prefer Kanto as well over a Battle Frontier. For one, it'll be great to return the the region that introduced it all. Seeing Kanto with the new DPPt Graphic style will also be a major plus to see how things turn out there as well. Not to mention, the curiosity of hopefully a new plit being extended over the the region as well. The original Gold and Silver stood out because it was a double-region feature, and I'm afraid if Kanto isn't added into the remake then it'll definitely be a major let down. It was part of the game and gave us more to do, even if it was half dead. The Kanto also opens up many more opportunities for the remake as well by just being there, simply because they can have many new features added. Johto along with new features would be great, but there are endless possibilities for what can happen afterwards. Having the Kanto is also a good example to display the new generation Pokémon and allow us to get newer items later on that can be helpful for compatability reasons with DPPt. I don't know, but I just prefer Kanto over Battle Frontier, and even with no news on it as yet for the remake, hopefully it won't be left out, along with other memorable things back in Johto's original glory days.

ah i still remember it to a T, i completed those games so much.
anyway, i'd expect a battle fronteir if i'm honest, FR/LG had the battle tower on one of the sevii isles.
and as HG/SS is set 3 years after they could've built the other facilities.
i'd REALLY like to see the Sevii islands (which would, in theory, actually be the battle fronteir) added to Kanto, with one facility of the "battle Fronteir" being on each island, therefore giving us 7 facilities, adding more variation. and they could maybe have it so you have to beat each facility to get to the next sevii island/facility on the island.
It'd be like the anime, where the facilities were dotted around Kanto (i think, havent seen many "battle fronteir" episodes and so i have no clue how many facilities there are, theres at least 5 i know that XD) and so this way they'd be given a specific place, and you'd have to obtain all 16 gym badges to access them. Just an idea though :D

So do you guys think we will be able to sprint in this game? I know it wasn't there the first time and it was in D/P and the GBA games. But since this is a remake for DS, I can see them adding it and I really hope they do. It makes for faster traveling and easier to train your pokemon in the wild.

IMO there'd be the Running Shoes (or leastways the ability to run) in this game, I'm sure. Since its debut it has featured in all games, after all. Including FR/LG, and I don't really see much reason for them to go without it as well. (Could happen even after you get the Egg - you're told to visit your mother who'd then give you the option to save your money for you. Although you didn't have to for a while, really, so...maybe that'd become a forced event? IDK, I just like the amusing fact that you could ignore going home and just continue on your journey, and then get your mum calling you. XD)

If by sprint you mean running outdoors, through route passageways, and indoors as well how we go the chance to do in DPPt, then I'm pretty sure we will. To keep the game to more of a modern style, and seeing they've chosen to use the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum format, I think we'll be allowed so. More than one thing will be taken from the 4th Generation games and implemented into the remake. The reason why is because not only does it follow the same format, but the remake is now a 4th Generation game as well. I'm actually pretty satisfied they allowed this in DPPt, and in Platinum they allowed us to ride out bikes through the route passageways as well. I'd like to see them add in for HeartGold and SoulSilver as it makes it a lot easier than having to get off of it while inside there for a few short seconds, and then put it back on. Something I don't mind changing about the way we pace around the region is how we shifted the bike. Pressing the 'B' Button sometimes got me offhand and I'd accidentedly press it at times. Though, since Platinum I've found myself doing that less, so I guess it really wouldn't matter much after I begin playing HeartGold and SoulSilver by the time Spring next year or so. Anyway, yeah I'm prety sure sprinting will be kept, and seeing as it was in the 3rd Generation and 4th Generation games, it'll more than likely be implemented in the remakes.

I remember always getting pissed whenever my mom called me and said 'Hey I bought something with your money, kekeke.' D:
Since when do I want a cruddy potion anyway?

It can be pretty annoying, especially when she starts doing it like there's no tomorrow.. then you get at least 3974972 calls a day.
I'd rather carry my own money.. it saves you from constant calls.
A bottomless bag like in DPPt would be awesome too.
No more of that stupid 'Blah blah can't carry anymore items'. >_>

I think you'll receive it along with the Togepi egg from Elm's aid.
Maybe like...
<Player>, by the way your mother told me to give this running shoes to you and blah blah blah...

Well she even bought the player a Moon Stone, isn't that nice? [=
I think it's better if there are option for us to choose...
For example like:
- <Player>, I saw this adorable Piplup doll, would you like me to buy it for you?
- I'm shopping right now, would you like me to buy something for you? (Then there's at least 3 option for the player, to let the player choose which item will his/her mother buy.)

I can see that happening on how to get our running shoes. Then again, it may just be your mother, who ends up stopping us and coming to tell us, "I recently bought these running shoes after hearing you were going off on an adventure..." and so on. It has always been our mothers who gave us our running shoes in one way or the other. They could even do it like in FRLG where one of the assistants of Professor Elm simply find us, give us something else of importance, and then also reminds us that our own mother game him something to deliver to us, which would be the running shoes. I know it'll appear, seeing as it has shown up in every game ever since RSE and the possibilities of how we obtain it can be endless really.

Actually, the mother did get us valuable items at times. The moon stone, like you've stated being one of them. Truthfully, I'd prefer for them to keep her as our bank, seeing as she is our mom and all. Though, with this, they could lessen the amount of phone calls, and buy more worthwhile items. For one, when she saves some of our money, it always came in handy for me when needed in the future. Especially now with competitive battling and EV training be so highly popular, some items can be expensive. With her saving out money all the time, it'll build up and save us big time in the long run. I like your idea for the choices option though, it seems like something that could work out really well. Though, with the bag it should definitely be kept never-ending, but bring back the PC Item Storage, it was just way beyond useful; I learned that from DPPt for sure.

Or she could also give us the shoes when it's time for the players to start their journey or even more earlier - receive it along the PokeGear.

I'd say she's the sweetest mother, compared to the other Pokemon game mothers.
I really am looking forward for storing Item in PC. It's very annoying in DPP that you can't use them. I also agree with you that they should still keep the "never-ending bag", even if the PC storage is back.

and i want the item storage back aswell :(
my bag gets too cluttered, but i like how its never-ending
