4th Gen HeartGold/SoulSilver Speculation

It'd be nice. They seem to be keeping features that people like (Pokemon animations and such... even if they're not nearly as good as Crystal's), so it's probable that they'll keep it.

it won't.every pokemon can follow you.though i think you need to set in in position or something.shinyness is also retained

Yes, it is true that all 493 Pokémon have the ability to follow us. So, those who have now gotten to hear and once wondered whether or not the starter will be able to stick behind you even after evolution, it is possible. However, the first Pokémon in line for your team will be the one out of its ball, or so it was told to be.

Though, when you stated that shiny OW sprites have been retained I beg to differ on this right now. For starters, I wouldn't mind getting to know where you learned this information. The reason why is because nothing has been told as yet. Not to forget we've seen the Gizamimi Pichu and Pikachu Colored Pichu with their differentiated sprites so it is a possibility for the shinies. Though, it hasn't been confirmed as yet so I wouldn't say it won't happen and I'm not going to say it will.

I think the GTS will be in Goldenrod City.
The building in Vermilion City in Kanto will be finished.
There will be an equivalent area to The Battle Frontier.
There may be Celebi, Shaymin, Pichu, and Arcius Events.
Random Wi-Fi Battles!!!
Orange Islands????!?
There Will be Kyogre, Groundon, and Rayquaza, Entai, Suicune, Rikou, Ho-oh, Lugia catchable in the games.
New Areas in Kanto?
Can still battle CAL?
New Pokemon formes?

I get the feeling that this is the last (main series) Pokemon game...
Maybe it's because they're giving out the legendaries -
Kyogres, Groundon etc...
Or it may also mean in the future 5th-gen(if there is), there's no tradability...
I don't know why, but it's just how I feel...

I really doubt it, tbh. The mere fact they put the Hoenn legends in doesn't negate the fact that Pokemon games basically prints money, and that's the primary reason in making games - whether they'd sell and make money or not. I'm personally pretty sure they'll make a gen 5 sooner or later, given the millions of sales. Even Platinum sold ridiculously well.

More likely, the inclusion of the Hoenn legends is just to let 4th gen players the opportunity to get them. With the DSi out without a GBA slot and all... it's the far more likely reason.

Anyways... some new pics, including this one from a world fair:
Spoiler:
Pretty sure that's the 'gatehouse' you need to enter to get to Tin Tower in Ecruteak.

Also a new rival Battle sprite pic! Notice how it has an updated look compared with the 'old' HG/SS sprite pic - it reflects the artwork more now. (Also the fact that the Pokeballs are the right way up as well now...). Posting both:

Furthermore, 'old' and 'newer' Burnt Tower:
Spoiler:

Notice the inclusion of the old man there. There was an old man standing there as well in Crystal - wonder if it's the same one? And if so, if other, more significant Crystal things get in too?

I wonder if any other pictures (or stuff such as the Pokemon following you?) get an update? Probably pretty possibly, I'd say. (ohh, alliteration).

A New Feature Never Before Seen In Any Pokemon Game...

I tihnk i remeber them saying that. What is it? Have they already revelaed it? Because so far everything in-game is the same as any other one. PKMN following you is so PKMN Yellow. Aside from the Poke-Walker, which i believe is not what they are taslking about, what new feature coudl it be. I also dont believe its like the Arceas event, or any event, since events have happened numerous times before.

They were talking about implementing a lot more of an action aspect to the game earlier before the boom of the hype.
I'm not sure what they meant but i'm sure we'll find out

Having every pokemon able to follow you ala Amity Square? That's certainly new.
Gyms having their own color scheme? That's also new.
3D view of the bag on the player's shoulder when looking at its contents? Also new.
Touch screen pokedex and menu? New.

You have to look at the little things, otherwise you're not going to find anything.

Yeah, I guess the features were the new Pokedex/Menu/Bag and that of having a Pokémon following you (not completly new).
About the gyms... thats not a feature (I don't think so) xD

I think that the feature they are talking about is something that is completely different rather than those small changes.I dont know why I have the feeling that it may be something big. XD

Since it's speculation on what they'll put in as this 'new feature', and there was an old thread but it's kinda filled up and dated, I've merged it with the speculation thread.

Responding to the pictures bobandbill posted earlier...

I like the new Rival sprite A LOT better than the old one. I kind of wish they'd change Gold's backsprite to look more like the backsprite in G/S/C, but it's not that big a deal for me.

The new rival sprite definitely looks better, before it looked kind of like some halfhearted fanwork. I hope the old man inclusion does mean more Crystal things... Eusine anyone?

Well the definition of a new feature can range from something very small to somethign large and noticeable in a way. In this case we are speculating on a game and features represented here are smaller than most, but large enough to where it impacts the game itself. For example, having all 493 Pokémon being able to follow you, that is a new feature included as it was never done before. Also, expanding the use of the touch screen is also a noticeable feature as it too changes the way of gameplay compared to the games before it. So, we have seen some new features already.

However, there could be more instore such as new features situated in Kanto itself. Actually, having the female or male playing a supporting role actually counts as a feature as well because it changes gameplay by a small alter and wasn't done before in the originals either. So its these small things that make up the larger new features of the game and makes the game what it is. Although, I'm sure there just may be a few more instore for the fans seeing as we still have until the 12th of September to hear more about it.

You know what I always wanted in a Pokemon Video Game?

A main character that could actually talk. ):

Call me crazy, but still. As I speculate through each new generation/game that comes out, that never happens. ;__;

well they kind of talk, they talk with their feet and other body movements lol

In veridian city there was a trainer hall, which had CAL who pretty much had each starter fully evolved at lvl 50 with crappy moves. He would battle you until you faced someone in a wired battle, then whoever you faced would be able to battle you once a day there instead of CAL. So I was wondering, what could they possibly do with this? Will they keep it? Do the fans like it?

My idea about it is that the last person you faced on wifi will battle you instead of CAL, which would be good practice if you lost against them, but not really since the computer sucks at being awesome. Also, this idea would also work if they decided to add random wifi on a handheld game, rather than just on PBR.

Also, I was also thinking that they should make it more than one battle per day, like having more than one trainer to fight, since pokemon trainers are war crazy!

Here is a video, that I do not own, credit goes to the owner of course, but it shows what I am talking about:

Tell me about your ideas and/or add to mine!

Sorry I don't know, I don't even play Pokemon Soul Silver, I'm playing the real Silver and Gold Pokemon Version! Try to download that in 4shared!

I wish you have a good luck!

I have played the originals over 100 times, and soul silver has not came out yet...
You srsly misunderstood what i was saying, what I wanted people to reply with, is their ideas of what Game Freak will do with the Trainer Hall in Viridian City...

Multiply battles would be great, especially if you could rebattle people you fought on WiFi . I never really made any use of the trainer's hall,But to have something similar to the battle ground In Plat would be nice.Cal was great for leveling up though so i hope he stays XD
