Name: Peter Stone

Age: 17

Hometown: Rustboro City → Goldenrod City

Background:

Hailing from Rustboro City and with the last name Stone, you might be inclined to assume that Peter is part of the notorious Stone family from Hoenn, who are majority shareholders of Devon Corp. You'd be correct in making that assumption. Peter's family moved to Goldenrod City when Peter's father (Peter Sr.) was made CEO of Devon Corp.'s Johto branch when Peter was eight years old. Due to the nature of his father's work, which sees him travel throughout the region, Peter has always had a certain sense of unfamiliarity or distance to the man who is his namesake. The same applies to his mother, who is a philanthropist and arts benefactor, spending most of her time (and money allowance) donating to humanitarian and artistic efforts in impoverished areas of the city.

Due to his relative distance from his parents, Peter had to grow up in a fairly independent manner. Tutored and groomed by private retainers, Peter has spent the majority of his life surrounded by adults who treat him as their superior. He has been taught the ins and outs of politics, economy, and business management in order to prepare him for when he will eventually inherit a share within the Stone division of Devon shareholders. However, upon reaching the necessary age, Peter convinced his parents to enroll him in the local Pokémon academy. Despite being a complete alien to the other kids in the school, Peter would go on to prove that he had the mettle to become a great trainer, much like his uncle twice-removed and former champion in the Hoenn region, Steven Stone.​

Appearance:

Peter is a fairly tall youth with pale skin and the typical light metallic blue colored hair of the Stone family. His hair is cut in an undercut style and he slicks back the top of his hair with strong hair wax. He has similarly colored blue eyes, and well-trimmed eyebrows, but no other truly distinguishing facial features other than prominent cheekbones. In terms of physicality, Peter is on the slim end of the scale (some might say lanky), and in good shape despite having little in terms of musculature. Peter generally overdresses as the occasion demands, but in terms of journey apparel he tends towards simplicity, preferring plain t-shirts, flannel shirts to wear in colder regions, and tough denim pants and boots to see him through his travels.​

Personality:

Though he is fairly preoccupied with appearances in his daily life, Peter sees his journey as an opportunity to wind down and relax from the usual stresses a man of his station must endure. Thus, he tends to act aloof and irresponsibly in his travels, more as a protest to his usual "sterile" lifestyle. Peter's strengths lie in his superior education and critical thinking skills; he has been tutored by notorious characters involved in Pokémon breeding, behavior and psychology, Gym leaders, etc. However he has marked "weaknesses" in his ability to empathize with others or elicit empathy from them as he tends to be overly proud, a trait that comes with his station.​

Rival: Alan Stone

Peter's cousin and rival is Alan Stone. Alan is 16 years old (though only half a year younger than Peter), taller, stronger, and by conventional standards, all-around more handsome than his cousin. Alan's father was asked to relocate to Goldenrod City in order to function as an advisor for Peter Sr. at a point where the Johto branch was doing bad economically, and once the finances recovered, he never went back to Hoenn. Both cousins see each other as threats to their influence over the family's company, and though the two had gotten along as kids, they now see each other as bitter rivals within the company, the family, and now, as Pokémon trainers.​
