    Welcome everyone!

My name is Tom I used to play 1st and 2nd gen of pokemon back in 90's when it was released, so yes I am quite old :) I have recently finished my job and now I am about to do my masters degree so I have more time than usual therefore I decided to play a little pokemon :D I have already finished 3rd and 4th gen games and now I moved to 5th gen (somehow I don't like it ;/ ), and since I can trade and do all of online stuff it would be nice to have some poke-friends :) I currently live in the UK but I would like to meet players from all over the world!

    Hey there Tom, and welcome to PC! My name is Zach, and it's a pleasure in getting to know you! {:3}

Ah, another classic fan! I got into Pokémon right at the crack of 2000, but that was because I had turned 5 in 2000, so I wasn't quite old enough in the 1990s :p but I do enjoy me some classic Pokémon every once in a while! And I see you've played all generations of games, then! Feel free to check out Pokémon Gaming Central if you want to! And we also have a Trade Corner here where you can trade with other members amongst PC, and get to know new Pokéfriends as well! (:

And I wish you the best of luck in starting your masters degree! Out of curiosity, what is your major in? I'm only getting ready to start my Associate of Arts in Computer Science, but I plan to transfer after that to a regular university and go for my Bachelor's from there on out. And like you said, we have Pokémon players from all over the world, such as myself being from the United States! ;D Other than that, I hope you really enjoy it here, because PC is home to not only the largest Pokémon fan community, but everyone around here is very nice and I'm sure you'll make lots of friends here! :]

As a reminder, though, please be sure you look at the rules here so that you don't wind up getting into trouble at all.. the last thing we want to see here of new members is them getting an infraction simply by committing repeated offenses, but I trust you aren't one of those people, Tom :)

And if you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting anyone around here on staff! They are the users with the bold usernames, and they are very friendly as well! They would be more than glad in getting to help you out as well whenever you may possibly need them! ;D

Hope you enjoy your stay here at PC, Tom! Feel free to send me a friend request if you want to! And you are also always more than welcome in either leaving a VM on my profile and or sending a PM to me if you ever want to chat with me! ^_^

    Hi Tom! Welcome!!

I've been into since the 90s too! Well not the games, but I started watching the anime in 1998 haha. I didn't get a Pokemon game till 2000 though. I've been playing all the games and generations ever since. There's discussions here for every generation and Pokemon Gaming Central for Pokemon gaming of all generations. It's okay if you don't like all generations though, everyone has their opinions. :) Do you plan on getting Pokemon X and Y eventually? I'm planning to get them as soon as possible cause they look like they will be really promising. Can't wait for October! If you haven't heard of them, you can always check out the Pokemon X and Y section.

If my DS was fully charge, I'd totally be up for trading, but I haven't yet had a chance to charge it. But I think can trade once it's more charged. You can always find other people to trade with at Trade Corner though. People there are always looking for quick trade and there are also many people with trade shops there. Trade shops are pretty much where people put up Pokemon they're willing to give away or a "shop". You can set up at trade shop yourself, it isn't too hard.

I heard the UK is a really nice place. really cold and rainy, but still nice either way. I'd love to visit there someday. You should take em. Hahaha. There's a good amount of members from the UK , including several staff members. You'll likely bump into a few UK members and also members from all over! We have tons of diversity here. Plus we're really friendly here so you might make friends with from from the UK and Europe and all over the world! I hope you can make some friends here. :) I'm sure people like me would love to chat with you so don't hesitate to chat!

See you around here and enjoy posting and browsing! Give me a shout anytime okay?

Well hi there Tom and welcome to PC!

Glad to see you played every generation so far, not everyone ever gets to do that in a Pokemon gaming career since some miss out on a generation or two but given you played them all you must be a dedicated fan for sure, and joining PC is another way to help connect with fellow Pokemon fans. I've been into Pokemon since 1999, but I have only played everything from 3rd Gen and on, with X & Y next on my list. My good buddies Zach and Aaron over there showed you a few sections worth checking out, like the popular Trade Corner section.

If you ever need a good place to start, I advise any of the Pokemon gaming threads, there's at least one covering every game as well as one discussing the games in general. PC has loads of people from all over the world so you'll make loads of new friends along the way. Have an awesome time here and read the rules if you can so you know what you can and can't do, or otherwise try contacting a moderator (like our Welcome Lounge mod Cirno) and they should be able to help. I'd love to get to know more about you, so feel free to shoot me a visitor message anytime!

    Have fun at PC, Tom!

thanks you guys for a worm welcome :)

I will be doing MRes Biomedical Science with Molecular Genetics as a chosen pathway so it is pretty boring for someone who doesn't like science :D And yes I was also watching the anime back in 90's and at the beginning of 2000, and I remember back then diglet was my favorite pokemon :D

I was playing every single generation at the time when it was released except 4th. Now for the first time in my pokemon adventure I have the opportunity to trade online and I am really excited about it, but it is also a bit confusing :D I remember playing pokemon red I always wanted to evolve my kadabra but it never happened :(

And yes I can't wait to play new X & Y, I hope this time the bond between pokemon and trainer will play much bigger role in the game. I am starting my masters in September so I probably won't be playing much :(

Trading and battling through Wi-Fi really does enhance your experience. It's wonderful that you're finally able to get involved in that! We have a lot of people here who are part of the trade/battle scene so be sure to stop by the trade and battle boards to get your fill. Welcome to the forum 'kay! <3

Awww, poor fifth generation.. but I've seen others who didn't like it that much, though it always makes me a little sad. :( I really liked Black 2 and White 2, and if I had to choose I'd say Sinnoh was my least favorite of the regions. They were all ridiculously fun regardless, however! Sinnoh just.. didn't have my favorite Pokemon design-wise. It's great that you're looking forward to X and Y since there is just so many awesome things in these games and eeeeee waiting for October is getting harder and harder as we get more previews. What do you like most about the games?! Did you decide on a starter? :D Our Pokemon X & Pokemon Y board is going to be a quaint little home for you and I'd be sure to look around if I were you. I'm sure you'd really enjoy chatting about the games with the rest of our members.

How's school going? I'm going into my fifth year of college.. normally I would've graduated by now but I changed my major a year into schooling, so I have a semester left. Still really close though, whoot. I'm sure Pokemon will really be a great stress relief for you as will this forum, so be sure to continue checking back provided you have the time. There's something about this place that pulls you back every time.. and since you've made an introduction we want you to stick around and keep posting! It's always sad to lose a member that made an impression.

Have an amazing time here and great meeting you, Tom! Cheers for joining!
