My name is Ashton and I'm a lady and a n00b. I'm 21 years old and I have a 3 year old son named Michael and he is dear. I live in the Upstate South Carolina, USA area.

I recently quit one of my old forums and I'm looking for a new one with a good sense of community. I am a Pokemon fan, though I can't say I'm a pro player or a fanatic.

It's nice to meet you all and hopefully we can become friends ^.^.

Anything here I should know about as a noob?

Funny I have an older brother who's named Michael so your son's name reminded me of him. Are planning to get him into Pokemon or he into it already? If I ever have kids, that's one thing I'm doing is introducing them to Pokemon. If there's new games still coming out then, we'll buy them together and play, trade and battle all the time. If not, I can still show them the games anyway. I know not all of us are Pokemon experts here. I'm sure I made tons of mistakes when first playing. Don't get me started on competitive battling either, I don't no anything about that stuff. Haha. But no fret! We have tons of "quick questions" threads such as this one to help you with anything through out the games. You can find them in almost section for Pokemon and maybe after being here a while, you'll be a better Pokemon master!

We're all "noobs" at some point but that's okay cause regulars here will be glad to guide you and be your friend. I remember first joining not knowing anything and not having friends but then people helped me out and I started chatting more in places like the Daily Chit-Chat and now I have alot of friends! So no need to worry about a being in a bad community cause we're not like that and I think you should be comfortable here. The DCC is a good place to meet people but any place in Chit-Chat & Polls works too. I'm sure you'll make some friends here. I'll love to be your friend myself! I'll send you friend request when done with this. :)

Just explore the boards too are cause we have tons of variety here. Also if you need anything we're here to help so just ask in the Questions & Feedback thread any questions or concerns. See you around and have a great time here!

Hey there Ashton, and welcome to PC! My name is Zach, and it's a pleasure in getting to know you! {:3}

Not to worry, like my friend AWSquared said, we are all n00bs at one point in time when we join a forum. Easy for me to say when I first joined here at PC, because I easily humiliated myself when I joined here, haha! And that's cute you have a son! Michael is an adorable name, and I really hope for the best of his future! Maybe you'll get him into Pokémon? :p haha! And yes, PC has a good community here that doesn't bite at all! You'll make a lot of friends here I'm sure and we have so many helpful people around here as well! ^^

Anyways, as a reminder, please be sure you look at the rules here, so that you do not wind up getting into any trouble at all.. the last thing we want to see here of a new member is them breaking rules repeated times leading to infractions on their profiles, but I have my hopes you aren't one of those people, Ashton :)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in asking anyone around here on staff.. They are identifiable by the users with the bold usernames, and they'd be more than glad in getting to help you out whenever you may need them! :D

My two buddies there, [supporter]Zach[/supporter] and [supporter]Aaron[/supporter] have already covered the bulk of your introduction but I'm happy to add my part too. They already suggested a fun section for you in Chit Chat & Polls but take some time to explore the forum and see what else you like, I wonder if you're also excited for the upcoming Pokemon X & Y games? It's only two months until the games come out and we're still waiting for the big scoop CoroCoro is revealing this month, hoping it might be starter evolutions or the full Fairy-type strengths and weaknesses. PC is a very active community so I'm sure you'll make some new friends. And nice to see you have a son, maybe you should get him into Pokemon sometime?

Also, like what the others said I advise reading the rules because getting in trouble is not fun at all, I don't want to see you breaking even the simplest rules. There are also the various staff members, like our Welcome Lounge mod Cirno, she'd love to meet ya! I'll echo the others who said you're totally not a "noob", bahaha. You're just an adorable little new member which we love around here! :D; Welcome to PokeCommunity.

You slightly remind me of myself.. I escaped to PC again in 2011 after leaving another forum and since then it has been an absolutely wonderful ride. I'm sure you'll have just as pleasant of an experience as I did! You're not required to be a pro player or anything of the sort to join us here; there are a lot of lovely members all over the forum who are either new to the series or casual players. Regardless of what type of fan you are, you'll fit in perfectly. :) Since you have forum experience I'm sure you understand the basic idea of how this place works, though there are several things that are different here that might confuse you. The most prominent is our "no bumping a topic if it hasn't had a post for 30 days" rule, though there are a few boards who are exempt from this. But that and everything else is outlined in the rules so be sure to read 'em when you have the chance, as suggested. They're a great start and you probably won't have to read them ever again. Get the boring stuff out of the way first, hehe.

And there are also some important rules in each board you plan on posting in, so there's that. Once you've gotten that down you're going to be settling in very quickly~ high-five! Whether you're into challenges, trading, or discussing Pokemon as a whole, you'll find it all here.

Hope you have a lovely time on PC, Ashton. n~n Be sure to give me a poke if you need some help or if you're looking for someone to chat with! It's adorable that you have a son too, perhaps you can get him into Pokemon as well? Would be awesome.. if I had a kid I'd definitely introduce them to the series.
