Point taken, though pre-conceived. Fact is, an engaging series should not require its audience to wait half a season to generate interest (no matter what show that is).
Believe you me, I know a thing or two about patience. (I'm a fan of Serial Experiments Lain.) My favorite stories require high degrees of patience, but I can still admit that their deliberate paces are a potential flaw (there are better ways to make characters more endearing, which is the primary reason for such things other than filler).
Still yet, your defense is commendable. But don't think that I'm hating on Season 2, because I'm not. I was hooked enough on the show to start a thread about it after all. If you notice, I wasn't passing judgement on the current season. I was only commenting on evoked feelings relative to the past season (and when a season is halfway through, such feelings are considered valid). It's undeniable that the formula of the show has been altered, and reactions to such things are sure to generate a variety of opinions. None are right or wrong, they are just opinions. Official judgements are, yes, reserved for the conclusion of a season or the entire show itself.
