Well hi there to you too, welcome to the PokeCommunity aka the most amazing Pokemon forum you'll ever see!
I think a good place for you to start would be Trade Corner since you did say you wanted to trade here, and that place will cover all that for you. The regulars there are very experienced and skilled traders so I'm sure you can fit in with the community there really well. In fact, I've seen loads of members join for our trading services so you'll know it's a great place to check out. Also, if you're looking for some friends or want to have a simple chat you can also check out Chit Chat Cafe which is a nice laidback section with some great chit-chat discussions and polls. Both should keep you entertained for a while, and do check out everything else when you can.
Well, I do wish you good luck in making some new friends, PC is very diverse so you'll meet people with loads of different tastes. I'm always around if you want to have a chat or leave a friend request should you desire. The staff are always on hand if you have a question or concern, so just look for the bold usernames.

There are a lot of people across the forum so help is easy enough to get, especially in regards to anything Pokemon related, of course. PC has tooons of wonderful fans and in my eyes we have the best Pokemon fans around period so that makes it even more worth it to pop by.
Anything specific you want to do? Trade/battle in X & Y, try out ROM hacking, or discuss the Pokemon games for example? We can give you some great suggestions if you let us know so don't hesitate. That way it's easier to point you to sections that you might fit into. Personally I'm usually here welcoming members, discussing the franchise as a whole, and participating in clubs among other things. These are things you can try out yourself.
