Hey there! I'm new here and felt it would be a good idea to say hello! I have been a Pokemon fan most of my life and a web developer as a career. I had simultaneous urges to both learn a new development language and make my own game and found Pokemon Essentials and thought it was the most brilliant way to go about the whole thing. I am currently developing my own fan game and hope to release my first demo very soon. I've learned a lot from people on here (other developers and Pokemon fans alike) and am excited to join the community myself.

I am looking for scripting advice among other things but don't expect help until I have been apart of the forums for awhile :) I'd like to work for it for the most part but if I can find some help for the small problems so my development isn't halted to much that would be amazing.

My favourite Pokemon is Snorlax. I'm Canadian. I love being artistic! Web dev, painting, graphic design and playing music are among my faves! Say hi, let me know what you're working on because I'd love to check it out!

Well hi there, always nice to see more Pokemon fans and welcome!

PC is well known for its hacking and fangame communities, so when you do get around to your project you should visit the Game Development board which has a subforum for Essentials. The resident mod, Maruno has some good knowledge with Essentials so you know you'll be in capable hands over there. Since you're also a graphic artist, you should stop by the Art & Design board and share your works with the community sometime. And there's also Technology & Internet for discussions about you know, tech. PC has loads of stuff that can keep you busy for a while.

We do hope you stick around as an active member, and if you need anything you can always contact a staff member in the bold blue, orange or red usernames. They won't hurt you, because well they are there to help you. Enjoy your day and see you around okay?

Game Development will have tons of resources for you so you're in good hands. :) I love seeing people come here in hopes of bringing their idea to life, be it in the form of a game or other creative endeavor. Welcome, indieoutloud! It's really great to meet you!

Thanks so much for the kind words Hikamaru & Sheep! I've been working on my project for about a month now and am thoroughly impressed with the knowledge I've found on here. I'm quite terrible at the whole forum thing but am going to make a conscious effort to actively participate as much as possible! Thanks again for saying hi :)!

Horray for fellow Canadians! I'm Canadian as well! Where in Canada do you live? I live in Toronto, Ontario myself, in the GTA region, so, it gets busy and not busy at times, hohoh. Still, it's a pretty nice place to live in mostly! Someday I wanna move to Japan or maybe to Ottawa, which both are also pretty awesome places to live. 8D

Anyways, a biiig welcome to PC to you, indieoutloud! I hope I'm not too late on welcoming you; it's really great to meet you, and you can call me Shawn! Always nice to meet new friendly buddies! Mmm, also, good luck on that project of yours! Games Development is surely the way to go if you're looking for any scripting advice that relates to general game development! Which you know, there are quite a lot of talented developers out there who are sure to have oodles of good advice for ya! But again, I wish you and your game success! I too have been a big fan of pokemon for as long as I can remember, and it's always fun learning about new pokemon, and pokemon stradegies/moves, you know? I used to haaate fighting against Snorlax because they have high amounts of HP and their SP.Def were godlike with Amnesia (especially Reds), but it's grown to be one of my favourite Normal type pokemon too, and I quite adore your taste. <33

Hey Shawn! I live just North of you in North Bay! I've lived in both Toronto and Ottawa and Toronto has to be on of my favourite places on earth. I love the atmosphere, museums and the entire arts scene. Also, thanks for the words of encouragement! It's quite a long and tedious process creating a game but I love the challenge and it's been really rewarding thus far!

When I first discovered Pokemon I was pretty hooked! Which is kind of weird for me as it isn't something the people around me would think I would be into but I love it! Not only the stories, the Pokemon world and the general idea but the communities. So, I'm really glad to be here! Snorlax is an absolute beast hahaha has always been my favourite I think!

Again, thanks so much for the words of encouragement and the warm welcome! I'm excited to be here and will definitely add you when I figure out how to do that hahaha!

That's awesome, I wish you luck with your project and I know plenty of people would be glad to help with scripting, I only wish I was one :/ I too do web programming though not as a career, more of a hobby and I would love to see some of your designs!
