Hey Mark, welcome to PC!
You came to the right place if you enjoy talking about Pokemon. We have a ton of sections to talk about it. We have a Pokemon General section where you can talk about Pokemon itself, such as specific Pokemon. We have a Pokemon Anime section if you enjoy watching Ash and Pikachu on their adventures. We have a Pokemon General Gaming section where you can chat about all the specific games, including the spinoffs! Be sure to also check out our newest section of the site, the X and Y forum! It's obviously dedicated to the new upcoming games being released in October for the 3DS! It's a really popular section of the forum right now, so check it out!
If you need a break from Pokemon, be sure to check out our non-Pokemon sections as well. We have a Discussion and Debates forum where you can discuss life events and news, a General Entertainment section where you can discuss your favorite movies and TV shows, and a Chit Chat and Polls section where you can participate in very fun general Polls (a personal favorite section of mine.)

Hey hey hey Mark! Welcome to the forum. o/ Is that.. that one orange-haired character from Bleach in your avatar?! Ahah my memory is so bad, I don't remember his name.
So your information's on your profile? Time to do some peeking! Seems like this is the forum for you if you're such a big Pokemon fan, we have an awesome Battle Center that's home to all discussions related to battling. I love battling too.. but I'm pretty new at it. We mostly do our battles through our official Pokemon Showdown server though, but there are likely plenty of people interested in Wi-Fi battles as well. :D; I recently got my Wi-Fi working so perhaps we'll be able to battle in the future when I complete my team! You can get your teams rated in the Battle Center and discuss your favorite tiers and strategies, so it's an awesome board.
And I've been into Pokemon since I was 7 or 8. I wish I remembered exactly what age I was but that was still a whole thirteen - fourteen years ago now! Pokemon is that addicting of a franchise, isn't it? What do you think about X and Y? Never did I think our next generation games would be on the 3DS so the news was such a pleasant surprise. October really cannot come any faster. :)
You'll be settling in here without a problem so be sure to stick around! Our off-topic boards are happy to have you anytime as well and they're actually just as active as our Pokemon boards. Places like Chit Chat & Polls and Fan Clubs & Groups are especially popular amongst new members.. you'll probably find lots of things you like there are well as other off-topic boards. There are so many so I can't link them all, but you're gonna have a blast for sure! There is so, so much to do, hehe.

I have still yet to view your profile but I might do so very soon, and like Cirno recommended you should head over to the Battle Center section if you love competitive battling, and why not pop by our Pokemon Showdown server sometime? You'll find me as Daikenki there. Battle Center also has sections for tournaments and also Rate My Team threads, so it's a very fun section.
And I hope you're excited for Pokemon X & Y as well. The new Pokemon look so awesome and the 3D graphics are a fun new twist, glad I got my 3DS already so you can say I'm prepared for these games. But yeah you should pop over to the Pokemon X & Y board here where you'll find some fun topics on the new games. Any thoughts on which starter you're choosing?
