HG/SS Help Thread

You could also obtain the Red Gyarados. Or a normal Gyarados.

Obviously, Lake of Rage is like heaven for those.
 
Thank you. do you know where to get a poliwag? which rod do you use? Also I have a level 22-39 pokemon. Do you know where to train them? I'm not ready for the elite 4 yet. Also I have a level 15 pidgeotto. Thanks.
 
Poliwag: Surf in the water in Ecruteak City. 90% Poliwag | 10% Poliwhirl.

Train in Victory Road,Route 44/5 (whichever is the long "Mountain Road" below Blackthorn City), Routes 27-8, and Ice Path.

If you haven't obtained Exp. Share, go visit Mr. Pokemon, he'll swap for your Red Scale. Then attach that to Pidgeotto.
 
I'm about to get my 8 and final badge in the johto. I'm not sure which Ice type to use. And my pokemon is still weak. Do you think it is a good idea to train in the ice cave with my flaffy? It got a lot of flying pokemon.
 
Best place to train is the new route. Though you need waterfall. you find pokemon from level 33-40. It is easy to train if you let the ditto's turn into your pokemon.

Meh, I know I may sound like a n00b right now but why isn't my Riolu evolving? IRS at that point where'd it be "jumping for joy" and spinning around in circles, and it has leveled up about 19 times durng the day, but nothing has happened. The only item it's holding is a Black Belt too.

Riolu only evolve on daytime :)
Max hapinnes is part one, daytime is part two.
 
I'm looking for a pokemon that can know rock climb, rock smash, whirlpool. Does anyone know it? Thanks.
 
I think Quagsire can but don't quote me on it I'll check it though
Edit: it can only learn rock smash and whirlpool Lapras learns these 2 as well

The one near the Safari Zone, You find wild Ditto, Miltank, Fearow, Noctowl, and glooms there. They are around 33-40 in levels. it is the best place to train after you beat clair.

Dragonite learns them all if you want to use it. Or Bibarel or Snoralx.

Sadly, no. The only HM Dragonite can't learn is Rock Climb.

Garchomp can learn all the HMs except Waterfall, so would fit your criteria.

Nidoking,Nidoqueen,Rhydon,Rhyperior are some more obscure ones that can learn those moves aswell.
 
How would you cath Ho-Oh?

K so i want to catch Ho-Oh on HG without the masterball... so what would you reccomend? What type of pokeball? Which pokemon? Sleep or paralyz? Right now i am using the pikachu colored pichu with endeavor (this works very well) and then constantly putting it to sleep with hypnosis from Gengar, but Gengar keeps fainting (its lv 47) and im using ultra balls (which isnt working well)... so what do you recommend?
