Question.

I've already gotten 1 master ball from prof. Elm and my question is. Is there another master ball in the game and how can I get it?

It's not that I find to hard to catch Legendaries, I've already caught Entei and Lugia with a dusk ball but had to catch Raikou with the master, but it's just because I think a master ball is the right ball to use for Mewtwo.

Just a few quick questions!

Hey! I've just started EV training a few pokemon on my Soul Silver file; I needed a few things cleared up though, in case I make any mistakes due to lack of knowledge!

1. I've just finished EV training my Magikarp who is currently level 18 with an EV spread of 254 Attack / 252 Speed / 4 Defense. Is it okay to give him a Lucky Egg and start levelling him normally now? My EV's don't reset every time I level up right?

2. My friend has also been EV training but she won't tell me exactly what pokemon she is training. She showed me her DS screen when she levelled up and she got an increase of +16 stats into Defense!!

I've never seen a pokemon get more than a +6 stat increase after levelling in my entire LIFE, so how is that possible?! What kind of pokemon is she training that could get a +16 stat increase into Defense after levelling up?! Why aren't my EV trained pokemon attaining such high stat increases after levelling?

Hi, i've been playing Heartgold for about 4 days (I think my play time is roughly 20 hours) and have already encountered and captured 3 shiny pokemon (4 including the red Gyarados). I have only ever seen one shiny pokemon in the 10 years preceeding this.
My questions is: Have I been INSANELY lucky, or has some other factor caused me to find so many shiny pokemon?
Thanks.

You've just been lucky. Barring chaining, RNG abuse, and cheating/hacking, there isn't any way to influence your chances. You should be happy that you're so lucky.

Can event pokemon be shinies? i.e. The Arceus event or the 10ANIV Mew that will come out in the near future?

Also, when is shininess for the 3 Beasts determined? Is there an efficient way to get them shiny?

Now, bear in mind that I haven't kept up with Event Pokémon research in the past few months, when I say this, but I don't think there has been significant advances in this area. Unless the event is programmed to be shiny (e.g. Pichachu colored Pichu, Ruby/Sapphire Zigzagoon, etc.), it cannot be shiny. Now, this isn't to say that all Pokémon that are loosely considered event Pokémon cannot be shiny. Member's Card Darkrai, Oak's Letter Shaymin, Ranger Manaphy, and the like can all be shiny. People like to call these event Pokémon because something other than a single game cart is required to receive these Pokémon (downloading the item, trading from the Ranger game to DPPt/HGSS), but they aren't truly event Pokémon. So, technically, no, it is not possible for event Pokémon to be shiny unless it was meant to be that way.

To your second question: The shininess is determined when they are released. Now, you could save right before they are released and soft-reset until they are shiny, but that, depending on your luck, could take months. If you're willing to take the time to figure out how to RNG abuse (it's not a fun process, and frankly, at least for me, isn't worth it), you can guarantee their shininess.

Yes, but it will be very difficult. You'd have to participate in Lucky Number Show in the Goldenrod Radio Tower and get a number matching your ID number perfectly. Alternatively, you can ask in the Quick Trade Thread in the Trade Corner. Most people would be happy to trade you one for very little. Just keep in mind that many people will either clone their Master Balls, or will have used an AR to hack them into their game, so if you're against cloning and/or hacking you may not want to ask there.

First thing I noticed is the 254 in attack. You cannot have higher than 252 in a stat. Yes, after it has all its EV's you can use Lucky Egg or whatever you want it level it up. For your second question, you probably aren't getting any EV's for defense. :P

Actually, the maximum Effort Values you can attain for one stat is 255. You probably assumed it was 252 because that's the number people normally stop at since continuing on is pointless, as 255 is not a number divisible by 4 and would not provide an extra stat bonus; whereas 252 IS divisible by 4. The extra 2 EV points in Attack were actually pointless, I only got them so I had 510 EV points in total and could collect my Effort Ribbon from the woman in Blackthorn City.

Well only possible Pokémon I know... Might have been a Shuckle. But hey +16 is too high lol.

Oh. I was always thought EV's could not go higher than 252. :P

The real question is, are you a good trainer?

Way to counter his question.

As for Pinsir, the answer is YES. It has high attack, with a base of 125. It can deal much physical damage, but do note that it has low HP, with a base of only 65. ._.

Ok so I was on my way to lake rage when I got there I couldn't do anything because I don't have surf oh well so I go back into mount mortar and I can't get out on the other side. I can't fly because I didn't get it and I tryed using dig and an escape rope. Does anyone know how to get out of this mountain if not I'll have to reatart and that would suck!

Ummm die? let your whole team die and you will go back to the pokemon center

Are apricorn drinks' effects temporary?

I'm confused =/

I caught a Timid Lugia on my Soul Silver, and EV trained it with a spread of 252 HP / 64 Defense / 192 Speed. I caught it at level 45 and trained it on HootHoot's, Rattatas and Geodudes for the EV's while also using Carbos, Iron and HP up and I maxed them all out while still being level 45.

When I levelled to 46, this is what I got:

+ 21 HP
+ 2 Attack
+ 4 Defense
+ 2 Special Attack
+ 3 Special Defense
+ 14 Speed

I was amazed at the incredible Speed and HP bonuses I got, but then when I levelled again, it was no where near as amazing. More like 3's and 4's, no extremely high values like 14 and 21. Why is that?

Sent a PM explaining right after this question ;)

How do I catch the ? and ! unowns? I caught all 26 letters and talked to the scientists and they won't do anything. Another site told me to examine the wall behind the ladder in the main Ruins of Alph building but that does nothing.

What do?

Will frozen pokemon melt on their own in battle like asleep pokemon will wake up? I am in the elite four and have no more ice heals.

Eventually, yeah. Getting hit with fire will instantly melt a frozen Pokemon.
