Hi Im UltraFlameHog! Iv'e been playing pokemon since I was 7 and I have always loved it ever since. Recently I have gotten interested in shiny hunting for pokemon and I have been successful in some ways. Anyways I was wondering if anyone would help me get a head start on here and guide me a little on what I can do. Thanks!:)

Ah, well a good start here is to take a look on each board to see what you like! Perhaps good places you might be interested in are Chit Chat Cafe, where you can just unwind and discuss loads of different things with members, or maybe Video Games to talk about different Video games! Pokemon General and Pokemon Clubs are good mentions too if you wanna discuss a variety of different pokemon topics with members. :3

I haven't been involved with shiny hunting myself, but there are multiple ways you can go about encountering/hatching shiny Pokemon more frequently.

Well hi there, welcome to PC! So you're into shiny collecting? I do have a few shinies across different Pokemon games but don't ever consider me a dedicated shiny hunter yet.

The Pokemon Clubs section has a Shiny Hunters club there if you're interested in that. It's probably the longest-running active club over there so you can definitely tell shiny hunters are dedicated. There's also various resources and stuff over in Trade Corner that's dedicated to shinies, so I'm sure you can get the assistance you need over there.

Welcome, Ultra! Cute avatar - the Pokemon Rangers have always been one of my favorite trainer classes. :>

Aw yeah, shiny hunting is the absolute best thing to do post-game for me so I always try to breed good ones or more recently horde battle in hopes of a shiny or two. The Masuda Method and horde battles are among some of the more popular choices in X/Y but it looks like you've already been covered, haha. All it really requires is breeding two Pokemon of different country origins for an increased shiny rate whereas horde battles are just initiating hordes using Sweet Scent/etc.
