Holidays at the PokéCommunity - Event Suggestions

Egg Swap - Christmas style.
Gijinka designer - Adding Christmas hats etc.
Drawing competition - Christmas version, obvs.
Spriting comp - Two types, a fusion comp and a scratch comp.
Christmas tree comp - You give the players a christmas tree base (sprited) then there will be two comps - a Pokemon decorations one, and a normal decorations.

Last one is a bit stupid but I wanted to think of an idea that we haven't done yet.

Also I would love to be co-host to one or two comps.
 
Surely there would be a writing contest! A small PC get-together wouldn't be complete without one! This could be easily modified to fit the holidays theme, like last time/year.
 
But I like the idea of an Egg Swap and the hunt for whatever holiday items you guys decide. Oh, and Chandelure looks like a menorah...

I'm definitely for an Pokemon Anime Quiz either helping with it or taking part in it. I was already thinking we should do maybe a Tri monthly or every few months.

And Egg Swap definitely, although I dunno if I want to go for the gold again o_O.
 
I've never done one here before but the idea of a scavenger hunt sounds really fantasitacally fun. I'm guessing you are given one clue and must find your way around the PokeCcommunity, followng clues until you finish the sacavenger hunt. That sounds really fun.

Spriting Contests would be fun as well.
 
Yeah, I like the drawing competition with a Christmas theme, ect idea. I already made a Secret Santa kinda of thing in the Art Gallery section before I looked at this thread. =[

So, yeah I'm all for the Drawing competition!​
 
I also support Spriting Competition, and \drawing one as well
I suppose the latter is almost a given ...
 
I think the main ones that I would love to see are:

- Photography (Winter/festive themes)
- Movie Night/s (Christmas ones obviously)
- Skype (Standard)
- iSketch (Many possibilities)
- Christmas Carol Contest (Singing)
- Christmas Sprite-a-thon (Make a Christmas theme or something)

They are the ones I agree with/can think of.​

Here's a few ideas I've come up with:

  • Christmas Poetry Contest
  • IRC Get-together on Christmas Eve
  • New Year's IRC Get-together
  • Christmas Song-writing Contest

I had more ideas but it appears I forgot them.... :/

I've seen some Secret Santa ideas going around, but what about a trading Secret Santa? A couple of days to sign up (with friend code and wish list) then the matches are announced and Pokemon gathered and trades sent. It wouldn't be completely secret because you would have to set up a time to trade and stuff, but it would still be pretty cool. People would need to make their wish list have easier things to get as well, so everyone can participate. There could possibly be two different groups as well: DPPt/HGSS and BW. Depending on how long the get together is, there could be a longer period to get a gift together.

First off, I love the new website design! I think that christmas is too soon for any new events to be put together. Many threads have included christmas events including several in the challenge thread. Unless the ideas are already to go and there is good organization of those events, I would hold off until next year, and start sooner.
 
Just want to bring up a point from last year which changed the Christmas events making it into the New Years Extravaganza.

We changed a lot (not all but many) of the names of the events and parts of the events itself because they were too Christmas focus and not inclusive of the general holiday season.

I personally don't mind because I'm all for Christmas, but are we doing the same as last year or no?
 
Can we do a run-though of all Pokemon GBA games, It would be called the Game Boy Classic Pokemon challenge, More games equals better emblems and speeding-up on visualboy is a no-no :)
 
Isn't there a Christmas tree Pokemon or am I wrong? I swear I remember one from back in the day

What about doing a run-though of Firered or Emerald at the same-time with a points based system? I seen something like this in the Challenges forums :)

I preticipated in the egg swap last year and enjoyed it. I think we should deff do that this year too.
