4th Gen Honey Tree Analysis

I've caught Heracross in many different trees. Aipoms too. I saw Combees a lot and would soft reset until I got a female, I still have a few in my boxes. I never caught a munchlax, I ended up having to trade for one, either on GTS or on Wi-Fi.

Combees are rare? Why the heck do I find them in like 5 trees in one day O_o?
As for other pokemon, I keep finding Wurmples *grrr* and Aipoms. Found a couple of Cherubis though. Havent found a single Heracross or Munchlax yet... I only managed to find one Burmy if they're rare that is...

Munchlax: 1%
Heracross: 4%
Burmy: 15%
Aipom: 15%
Cherubi: 15%
Combee: 20%
Wurmple: 30%

And that's how rare each Pokemon found on the Honey Trees are. Notice how it adds up to 100%. :o And yeah, the rarity of Pokemon vs. different trees always stays the same no matter which tree you're using.

Don't forget Silcoon/Cascoon depending on what version of the game you have. I have caught several of those along with Wurmples. Oh and it also seems that if you get a Wurmple in your game and evolve it, it will always be whatever version is available in your game. I tried this several times from ones I've caught to ones I've breed after catching and to no avail. Guess I'll have to trade for that cascoon.

You're incorrect on Wurmple. It evolves depending upon it's personality (which you can't see). You can get both Cascoon or Silcoon in Diamond and Pearl. I just kept catching Wurmples and evolving them until I got a Cascoon. Eventually you'll get one.

Yeah, although combees are pretty rare, even without getting a female.

If you save just before you go to the tree to see what it is- then if you get a male combee, keep turning it off and back on again and trying until you get a female. Doing this will not change the Pokémon you get, but its levels, gender and stats will alter!

Wow thats alot. I started out doing 5 trees at a time 2 times a day (thats all I have time for with my work schedule) and did it for about a month. I only managed to catch 2 heracross that whole time.

I can see by everyone elses responses here and from other places I've collected some data that it really is pretty random where they appear. So I suppose I can just go breed some snorlax now lol.

Yeah, breeding a Snorlax is easier. Most people told me to do that. But, I was determined to fill the Sinnoh Dex on Pearl without importing any pokemon. (Trading only for the exclusives from my copy of Diamond.) I wanted the satisfaction of catching them all myself.

Snorlax was a thorn in my side for a long time. Feebas was quite a pain too. But I finally did it. :knockedou

Ah, wow you're like me...I'm doing vice-versa as I have Diamond. It's a pain isn't it! I haven't found a Feebas OR a Munchlax, but I found a female Combee first tree, first time so I guess that was lucky.

I hate those Honey Trees! I NEVER got a PKMN from there. How long do you have to wait.

NO, if u didnt get it. XD

Wow. At least now I have an idea of how the odds work out. No wonder I never find Muchlax.

I've never been able to get anything more than a stupid Wurmple... Must find my game and try harder. ^_^

Aha! Useful, thanks! =D

I captured a Munchlax from the tree outside the valley windworks, it was my first ever try with a honey tree when I caught it.

Admittedly, the most annoying part of that was purchasing the honey - ONE AT A TIME. Really, that's annoying, as is buying the mulch, but I think they fixed that for Platinum.
I just kept a Combee in my party when I needed honey and it gathered me some every once in a while. ;D I used honey trees a lot at the beginning of my game, because I wanted a Cherubi on my team. And of course, I got all the pokemon besides Cherubi first, excluding Munchlax. Even Heracross. I caught it in Route 105, right next to Eterna city. I remember that I accidentally defeated the first one but soft reseted and caught the other one. I still don't have a female Combee, because I was too lazy to reset the game many times when I had it in a honey tree. ^^"

ive caught all honey tree pokemon on diamond except Munchlax which i can never seem to find :cross-eye

I rarely use trees, but whenever i do i find pokemon everytime. I caught a munchlax the second time i used a tree, but i have never found a heracross.
