Hoping the elite 4 has more than 4

The last original release was x/y. I was disapointed that the elite 4, only had 4 pokemon each. Im really hoping the new elite 4 posses more competition. Omega ruby and alpha saphire were tough enough, but those were remakes.

I could see GF implementing a tougher post-game such as rematches AND/OR unlocking a hard mode. This makes the most sense since they want to appeal to younger, newcomers, and/or casual gamers while at the same time keep loyal fans happy. As the audience of pokemon expands with over age and gamer experience I bet GF will adjust their strategy.

So, I don't mind a 4 pokemon elite four, so long as there are rematches and/or hard mode.

I mean, the thing you have to understand with difficulty is that, ultimately, this is a Pokemon game. For those of us who love challenges, we have to remember that at the same time, these games' main audience is like, 7-13 years olds, basically (kinda mixing up demographics here but you get the point). I think Game Freak honestly tries to make the games as appealing to everyone as they honestly can, but sometimes they do fall flat in the eyes of the hardcore veteran gamer.

Maybe they'll try something different this time around, who knows, really? Maybe they'll make Alola's version of the Elite Four a lot tougher than previous versions, but we won't know that for certain yet unless we play the games.

Funny enough, Masuda's excuse for the lack of the Battle Frontier in OrAs seems to apply (as in make more sense) more for older players than young players (I still think it was BS).

I feel the Elite Four shouldn't be drastically changed and it's always meant to be four members with strong Pokemon. Given the change-up of the formula that saw Gyms being ditched, there's a chance the Elite Four could be overhauled as well, but I feel it'll be kept a secret until release.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Elite Four program is reworked into what will essentially be a final set of challenges that are considerably tougher and can only be accessed after all the previous challenges are completed beforehand (much like how the Elite Four and Champion can only be battled after all eight of a region's badges are obtained in previous generation games), and that beating that final challenge set and the Alola champion 'clears' the game.

There's always the chance that the four Kahunas would be Sun and Moon's version of the Elite four, anyway. Assuming we have 4 Trial Captains per island.

That mean the entire Kalos E4 are compose of Elder people and you will already reach their level after moving to 2nd Island.

We know that Alola has A Champion.
However , A Lack claim that the E4 get replaced by 4 Toutem Pokemon.
Which happen to be One of most STUPIDEST thing I heard.

I hope we see more intimidating trainers (Kahunas and Island Captains) , because the ones that were revealed don't seem to be so impressing so far (Atleast for me ).

This honestly depends on the level curve and whether or not it's gradual. Considering that one of the trailers shows a battle with Hala who is a Island Kahuna, I'm really starting to think that it'll go like 4 Trial Captains --> then you face Island Kahuna per island.

This is also how I believe the Island Trials will work. The four Trial Captains shown so far all seem to be on one island since they all have a four-pointed flower-shaped charm and one section is colored, which in the case of Mallow, Lana, Kiawe and Sophocles, is the top.

I think the Elite Four, let alone every Gym Leader, should have 6 pokemon MINIMUM.

A Gym is supposed to be challenging. It isn't challenging when you throw out 3 pokemon with the same 4x weakness.

Just watch as all the Trial Captains and Kahunas end up with teams of only three Pokemon... because we know Game Freak loves to do that.

We can only hope. I'd be fine with 3 as long as the pokemon weren't pushovers.

Then again, we're going to see a lot of originals in Generation 7, so I look forward to it regardless.

I'm pretty sure they'll have more Pokemon then 4.
If not, they should all be atleast level 80.

That is assuming the Elite Four concept returns. I'd be hesitant to think we will be getting the traditional Elite Four format now that Gyms have presumably been replaced by the Island Trials. Maybe upon defeating the Kahunas would grant access to some sort of higher ranking challenge system. Either that or upon defeating all of the island trials for each island, you rematch the Kahunas once more in a consecutive order.

Also, if Hyper Training requires Pokemon of Level 100 to activate, perhaps we can expect a steeper level curve? That could happen or there may facilities or rematches that would allow levelling up to be considerably easier.

I understand the target audience is younger but we can't forget that the older Pokemon games were tougher and had the same demographic. Personally, I prefer the Elite Four having five Pokemon as it made it feel like a much harder, more important fight. I definitely don't think four is enough and the Pokemon that they used in X and Y were laughably easy (for the most part). So yeah I hope the Elite Four do use more than four Pokemon this time around and hopefully the games are tougher as a whole.

    THIS.
And they can always use a toughness scale to choose from like they did with BW2.
If they did it once they could do it again.
Im currently in a new X walkthrough and I LOVE these games but I think they could have been more challenging.

BW2 really was the best of both worlds, with normal mode having them use 4 Pokemon and challenge mode gave them 5 (I honestly forgot that the Unova elite 4 had the whole 4 Pokes thing, i thought it was just Kalos' thing). They're not the four toughest trainers in the region for nothing, so why do they only use 4 Pokemon now?

The problem is it cater to the younger audience aka the Millennials who seems to be the most lazy ones and don't want to work to get what they want. They are obviously spoiled compared to the 90s kids.
