Horde Battles Or Blissy Bases

Depends on what you're using them for. Blissey bases are much better for exp grinding, while horde battles are good for EV training.

Blissey only really helps for HP EV training on top of exp - while you can train other stats on it with power items, the problem is that you'll be getting HP EVs too, which you may not want (e.g. for a fast sweeper), or you may only want a specific number of. I'd advise horde battles for the other 5 stats. They're fairly easy as well - have something with sweet scent and in the right route (e.g. Oddish in the route with the weather institute, Shuppet in Mt Pyre's building, etc) you have a 100% encounter rate.

Also, hordes offer 5 Pokemon at once. Most you get with Blissey bases is 3.

Numbers btw for say EV training in Attack in both cases, assuming power item and pokerus:
Blissey: 3x(1X2) HP, 3x4x2 Attack --> 6 HP, 24 Attack EVs
Shuppet Horde: 5 x (1+4) x 2 = 50 Attack EVs.

my level 100 Greninja reached 377 speed stat from the 252 EV's i gave it in speed from super training without o-powers or pokerus or power items. thats why i fail to see the point of horde battles. i mean the results will be the same either way. on evey pokedex i can find online, it tells me greninja's maximum in speed can be 377. can that be surpassed with horde battles?

Horde battles are usually faster than other forms of EV training, which is why it's used at lot. The end result is the same, it's just a matter of efficiency.

i use horde battles for ev training. with pokerus and a power item i get 50evs in one stat. bobandbill displayed the calculation. therefore it takes 6 battles to reach 252 evs in a stat.

i use blissey bases for exp training. with a lucky egg i get 58k xp per poke (lucky egg fives 50% xp boost) as well as that i use xp o power lvl 3 which doubles my xp gained so i can get 117xp per battle. if a pokemon has a different OT is also gains 1.5x more xp. therefore traded pokemon with lucky egg and o power can get around 177k xp. also if a pokemon has a different OT and is from another language the boost is 1.7. so with traded japanese pokes i get around 199k xp. also note that if u decide to not evolve a pokemon when it reaches a certain lvl, then xp gets boosed by 1.2. u can use this to increase your xp even more!

just to note. each pokemon has different growth rates and xp needed to reach lvl100. i believe some need 1 million, others need1.25 mil. with bblissey bases u could easily reach lvl100 from 1 in 10battles?

also note the xp gains are rounded and not entirely exact.

but she also said the end result is the same. so ill just keep on doing what im doing which is pokemon amie, than super train them, and than blissey base for exp and ev because from what i can tell it works just the same as horde battling. i dont mind if its slower really.

personally i use horde training for evs and then blissey base till lvl 100. the problem with using blissey bases for lvl1 pokes is that they'll gain hp evs.....

hm.. i don't see the point of those bases. they take longer as it's singles and u need a strong poke to OHKO them. plus let's say each poke gives out 3 EVS. the max you'd get per poke is (3+4)*2=14. then 14x3=42. much quicker to horde train as u get 50evs per battle.

u stop horde training when you've full EV trained your poke. so when it has the max510 EVS. normally my pokes are around lvl 20 when they finish EV training. once you've finished training them just blissey base. do u have lucky eggs?

ok im convinced. when should i stop horde training for the specific ev and go to blissey bases. like what level? Also i found this reaaly cool base to ev train your attack stat if you didnt already know https://www.reddit.com/r/SuperSecretBases/comments/2nw756/attack_ev_training_secret_base/.

EV training is distinct from leveling up, for the most part (gaining experience is just an added bonus of the horde battle approach), so max out your EVs (or get any non-HP EVs that you may need), and then train your Pokemon the rest of the way using Blissey bases or your favorite exp-gaining approach. I think there's an NPC who will tell you if your EVs are maxed out, or else you can tell by looking at the bar on the super training screen, and it will be completely filled.

Think of horde training and Blissey bases as two steps to the training process:
1. EV train (hordes or super training)
2. Exp training (Blissey bases or your favorite exp-gaining alternative)
