Too many vending machines?

Well it's all part of the "New York" theme isn't it? I'm pretty sure i've seen loads of vending mahcines around NY, they even have "Pokémon Center" vending machines around malls in america, take a look at this one;
Spoiler:

But yeah, to be honest, I haven't actually taken much notice to them that much. Neither have they really effected much of my gameplay so yeah...

that is so cool!!! but yeah all of the vending machines is a bit much considering they just sell the standard water/soda/lemonade. I miss gen 2 where the water soda and lemonade were tradeable for useful tms

How can you have a problem with the vending machines? There are two things which they might violate, narrative and gameplay mechanics, and they harm neither.

Narrative: wow, there sure are a lot of vending machines in this world! It's almost like things other than Pokemon are meant to use the products which come out of them... oh wait, I as a human drink lemonade. So I guess that makes sense.

Gameplay: I love having access to economical effective healing items at the mid-game level. But doesn't that make things a tad too easy? Oh wait, there's tons of free healing throughout this game (doctors are a way bigger offense), these items are not terrible useful towards the end of the game, and it's not like this campaign was ever hard to begin with.

Honestly, I don't get what all the fuss was about. Pokemon games have never been known for the incredibly intricate design of game progression and the difficulty curve, and I don't think vending machines in this generation somehow makes that even more problematic.

TL;DR: The vending machines are fine. Complain about something else.

I don't really mind if vending machines are everywhere around Unova. The thing I mind about is the amount of item we can get from them. I wish they've added an option of how many item we will buy from it. Instead of clicking and clicking it one by one.

Well, I barely notice them. I see them just as id see a bush or a tree. Though they are handy when your out of potions you can buy lemonades I suppose *shrugs* though I barely used them.

EDIT: Also, if you walk IRL to almost any store or strip mall, and malls in general, you cant walk 20 steps without encountering a vending machine or two, so it gives the game a more real-like feeling.

I noticed the vending machines all around the region and I personally think it's a good idea. They're there too add a bit more to the cities in Unova, adding the the urban atmosphere of the region. Although I don't use them (I prefer to heat at Pokémon Centres and rest houses as often as I can, they're free!), I certainly don't agree with the amount of them put in the game.

I don't mind them. Mostly ran straight by them and didn't pay them much attention until I read this thread. lol

Well, the increased amount of vending machines is a nice addition to the whole world, and in the earlier routes, also serves as a place to get supplies for use in battles. They are cheaper, they are more convenient, and, best of all, is everywhere.

I don't mind the huge number of vending machines in Unova, though I never used them. Instead of wasting my money on Full Restores and Hyper Potions early on, I would've gone for Lemonade, which is cheaper.

I've noticed quite a few here and there, i always see them in towns where i can easily heal my pokémon or i find potions etc really easily so never had the need to use the vending machines :)

The amount of vending machines doesn't concern me at all as my Pokemon are generally over levelled and as such I don't need them. If only the contents of the vending machines were different. There should be machines containing different combinations of: Fresh Water, Soda Pop Lemonade, Moo Moo Milk, various berries, Lava Cookie, Rare Candy (but for a super high price and limited amounts, etc.

They do add some realism to the more urban-themed Unova, but I ignore them as they only have a basic range of healing items (No Full Restore :(.)

they come in handy in the beginning of the game but after that 80 hp worth of healing doesn't do much.

I honestly don't even remember seeing them around. .__. I guess that says a lot about how much I used them, huh? XD

After actually starting to see them around, I don't really mind the numbers. They're just... there to me, just like those obnoxiously large boulders that actually look like you need Strength to move them. :)

ugh yes. Why is there a vending machine down the bottom of Twist Mountain? It makes no sense! Yeah, I'm gonna want a nice cold drink in the middle of this frozen wasteland, sure sure.

I don't really mind there being so much. I don't really use the vending machines, but they can be very convenient. It also adds to the urban feeling in the region. I wouldn't mind them adding other stuff, like maybe even pokeballs, in the vending machines.

You are missing an option.

How about :yea they are great and just the right amount of in the right parts of the region ! .

I think it makes things more realistic. It really shows how Japanese the Japanese makers are. In Japan, vending machines. EVERYWHERE. Even ones for cameras, batteries and t-shirts at times.

Getting back on topic, I like the amount there is. It just meant that I could buy nice healers for a good price almost wherever I went. The concept of having to fly to a particular town just to see a vending machine became somewhat annoying. Plus I like to try and score a double drop every time I see a vending machine.

They should add vending machines for RAGE CANDY BARS. Or Magikarps, just to put that salesman out of his job.

Although I don't usually use them, I think there is a good amount of vending machines. They come in handy. And I think it's realistic since the game is based on America and there are vending machines everywhere here.
