How do YOU make decisions?

I find that I have a really tough time making decisions. I usually get uneasy thinking about it and put whatever choice I have to make in the back of my mind. Then when I'm out of time, I panic inside. I know I should base my choices on what I think, but I find myself asking everyone I know, usually changing my mind.

And sometimes, I feel I just can't discuss it with anyone. (You know, when you don't really enjoy a sport anymore that you've been playing pretty much since birth. You don't want to face the reaction of Mom who's been cheering you on all the way.) I'm not in any particular situation, I just have trouble with this overall.

Then there are other times when you'll be unhappy with either choice.

How do you face tough decisions? Any advice would be appreciated so, so much.

    Well wow, it really depends...

Though I have to remember life is also risk ;)
When, I'm making a decision father little time or lot, I chose which will ether benifit more... Usually that's my gut feeling. I try to make the right decision, but sometimes again risks are envolved.
So decision making for me really depends on the sitchu, but ill do the right one, the benefical one, and sometimes the one that comes with great reward/backlash: risk...
When making a decision remember to take a chance, nothing should completely destroy you, well unless it's a decison to jump off a cliff...anyways...really you just have to swing for the fences and hope for a homerun...

decision making for me has been a problem, but i've recently done better...

    Hope I kinda helped :/

Wow, I never thought of it more as risky, but as changing. That's a better way to think of it. I always try to sit out and think quietly for a while, debating in my head, but my gut usually is what I end up with anyway. But for every decision I make, even if it was the better one, I always feel remorse.

Well....regret is in everything really, wether you make one decision or another you'll always have a little thought of what would have happened if I did this or that...

I've done the same things, where your walking in the hall way thinking of what you'll say to who and what not. Really, i've done better by just swinging it, if it happens to lead to a bad thing, oh well get yourself up and keep moving :D

In decision making try not to make it too complicated, keeping things simple and not over doig things can help :D

Thank you so much, BeachBoy! I thought it was just me... with the regret. Simple is good! I'm glad you made me realize it. My thoughts always get twisted around eachother and make the decision tougher. I have to have a balance about how much I'm thinking as to not overwhelm myself. And picking myself back up, I'll keep it with me. :)

Anytime ;) I did the same thing, made things chain react downward and everything gets all confusing and complicated. Simple really makes decisions much easier, and probably benifits the most...

Also, at times you get all chaotic and such, simplify the sitchu, and relax, we're living life, no need to get all hay-wire, ok. ;)

    Glad I helped cha! :D

We all know that when we become an individual, we will have to start making decisions on our own. Making decisions is a part of our lives. Experts have actually come up with a step-by-step decision-making process:

First, you need to identify the situation you're in or the issue. You will then need to decide if you even want to handle it. Next, break down any choices that are available to you. Then, find out how you will take action on your choices. You can either get rid of some available alternatives you to or the way how people usually select their choice, think over how the factors involved, or just pick whatever choice that seems better than the others.

Later on evaluate the results of the decision you just made. This can help you make better decisions in the future. Better decisions come along with greater benefits, and we all learn to make the best decisions after making the worst ones unfortunately.

I really should listen to Disintegration. When facing tough decisions (Fanta or Coke) I go with the good ole fashioned Heads or Tails.

With the truly tough ones, I sleep on it. Once my mind is clear, I find it easier.

I use the Poketch app. Flip Coin. :3

xD, Seriously. I do my decision that's more likely to happen, like to study or to watch TV, ofcourse, it would be watch TV.

Sometimes, I just think of the consenquences of what would happen if I choose this decision, so I would have a clue what horrible things will happen to me.

Or I'm just bored, U se the app. Flip Coin. (It is called Flip Coin, right? o___O)

ウールフ, thank you! I have homework problems, too. I never really thought of that as a decision, as I've never really thought, 'should I play Pokemon, or should I do my homework?' I've always just started playing the game without thinking about it. I'll be more conscious of it now. And you're right. I really have to dwell on the decision I already made, not worrying about the other.

Disintegration, wow, I never even knew about that. It'll really help me organize my thoughts. I usually just think of everything in my choices at once. I'm going to be following this for tough choices.

Sims796, Ha ha. Yeah, when I'm facing one of those REALLY tough decisions (Pepsi or Sprite) I'll use a good ol' dime. But the problem is, when I have an important choice to make, I can't sleep. I'll just lay in bed thinking about it for the longest time.

Ryouki, if I just so happen to be playing my ds while making a tough decision, I'll use that app, lol.

Hmm, making decisions is easy for me — like second nature, almost.
Good leader am I? Not particularly, but certainly a decisive one.

    Moral and Logical Thinking xD

Sims, you mean Diet Coke or regular Pepsi :)

I usually weigh out all the pros and cons, then take some time to think about it (usually in the shower for some reason) and I make up my mind.

REALLY tough stuff I talk to my parents about.

I usually make decisions by asking my mom or just go and pick randomly. ;D

Advice: If it is something serious you should ask an older adult.

Virtual Chatot - Thanks for reminding me about the morals part. It's more important than most people would naturally think.

Anti-Pop - I have that relaxing place too. It helps a bit when I take a long bike ride. I thought I was crazy. ;p

Anti-Pop, Kaiora - Yeah, it does help to ask a more experienced person, but sometimes it's something I can't talk to my parents about. You know that feeling that they'll think of you differently, in a negative way? I could talk to a councelor at school, but they wouldn't know enough about me to help. But it's really good to keep in mind.

I try to think of what will have the best outcome. If it's something trivial like which movie to see, I might flip a coin or something. Other than that, I just try to choose what I feel is right. It's simple, effective, and good with ketchup.

Oh no, not economics again... XD

Usually I just choose the best out of the number choices I am given, basically on what I find the best choice. Other than that, I choose on whatever makes others (especially my friends) more content and satisfactory for them, that is if I am ever given choices that relates to a friends choice, hope that didn't sound too confusing to get the point clear enough. XD

Well, at first I was about to give a blunt answer to this thread, but seeing as you basically need help, I'll put effort into the post.

You think about the pro's and the con's. What could be the consiquences? Is it something that'll be good in the long run or no? What would I really be doing this for? Me? Or someone else? Is it worth it?
Then I play some thoughts in my head on what could happen. After that I make the decision.

But to tell the truth, when I'm making a hard decision, I think about then and there, not the future. It's something that's more like a "lets jump across the cliff. Maybe we'll fall or maybe we'll land" kind of thing. You really don't think; ya just choose.
