Google'd when Gen III came out, and it seems the japanese version came out at 2002, so I guess I was 5, but my first pokemon game was when I was 3/4 with Red.

I don't remember that.. I know I was reading at a 5th grade level in 1st grade, so I assume I started reading very young. I remember my grandma taught me the alphabet before I was 3, if that's any indicator.
