How old where you when you started playing pokemon/what age did you start liking pkmn

I got a copy of Pkm Blue about a year or so after it was released. I fell In love with the game. Then I Started watching the Anime some time during the Orange Islands. I caught up on The kanto region when they re-aired it later on. Then Stopped during the later part of Jhoto when all the filler episodes started to get to me. I Started to get back into the anime Right before They started the Sinnoh region. And Ive been playing catchup ever since.
 
Think I was 8 when Red and Blue came out... damn it's been a while.
 
I played Pokemon Blue when I was 7. Then after a year I stopped playing and liking it. Then after the release of Crystal then Sapphire, I resumed playing.
 
I started playing Pokemon around a year or two after Pokemon Yellow came out (around 2000-ish). But it wasn't until I was at the Elite Four of the game that I actually started enjoying it. Both in game and in general. But don't assume that it took me even a few months to complete the process to getting to the Elite Four as I didn't ever get HM05 which was.. well, very vital since there were tons and tons of caves in the game as well as the fact that there wasn't any sight like there is for caves like there is now.
 
Yellow was my first game..but first i played was Red that was my friend's.

I was eight when I found pokemon (wow, a decade!). It was introduced to me via my brother. We started watching the show with I think the first episode. I did not have a gameboy until a while after that, so one of my earliest memories is going to Kentucky Fried Chicken where they had plush Pokemon toys. I got a vulpix. My brother got a Zubat, and I think my sister had a Tangela.
 
I never thought pokemon was good until I played blue. Now, I can't wait until they make the gsc remake.
 
I'm sure I was around 5 when I started to watch PKM and liked it. Not sure about when I got a game. It was quite late cause I got Fire Red.
 
When I was like 6, I was zetta fabulous. XD

Aged 5 my cousin let me play his Blue Version whilst he played gold, I've loved it ever since. .
 
I always would watch the anime, I never really knew there were games. I loved the first 3 movies. But the very first time I played a real Pokémon game, was this year. And I own alot of Pokémon Games already.. I'm soo addicted =D

It's funny that my first real Pokémon game was Diamond, and now the Pokémon games I have recently bought are Blue, Red, Crystal, Silver and Leaf Green. *Plus many spin off's*
 
The majority of you make me realize just how old I am... I started playing Red a month before it's American release date. A friend of mine from school had imported it and let me have full run of the game due to our silly puppy-love crush... I never stopped playing, bought every game released on the handheld consoles and don't plan on stopping. I ended up moving away from my friend in 2000 because I needed to relocate over 2,000 miles west (was in Franklin, Indiana for a few years but am a Long Beach, California native); as strange as fate is, my friend is now 23 and I am 22 and we have FINALLY found one another again and we still play Pokemon on a daily basis.

It's been over a decade and I am still not ashamed to admit my hobby in public; nor will I ever be.
 
I forgot when I started to play Pokemon games and watching the anime...

But my old crush revived when I was surfing around Youtube for some stuff, and then I suddenly started to watch every episode. I think I was 10-11. :)
 
I was about the age of 6 or 7 when i got pokemon yellow after that i loved pokemon ever since
 
Pokemon

I started TRYING to read the cards at age 3 because they looked cool. Then got a GB color and yellow version at age 4.
 
I'm like Myuu here - 22 and not ashamed to admit my fandom!

I started playing Pokemon pretty much the first year they came out - 96. Got the Red version for Christmas. I've got a lot of games since then, no N64 ones unfortunately, but I've been into the series longer then anything else I've liked. So, I started liking Pokemon aged 10/11.
