I've downloaded a Pokemon Black ROM, though I've not made any progress. I just wanted to see what the new region, and the pokemon look like. But because of my poor knowledge in Japanese, I've yet to even start.

I'm waiting for the English release, so that I can buy it legally.

The BW fervor in Japan that you mentioned is awesome! :D That sounds so much fun, too! Random Pokemon challenges and battles nearly wherever you go (which is how it should be globally, to replicate the feel of the anime)! *gets all misty-eyed* Oddly enough, I had a dream a few days ago that I was riding a Japanese train where many people were playing DSes, and I shouted "I challenge all Trainers here to a Pokemon battle!" in Japanese (well, something that sounded like Japanese)... :cer_laugh:

*sigh* If I could only traverse the barrier of Generation III in the near future...then I might be able to participate in BW Wi-Fi battles... :)

Yeah. I'm a high-school teacher, and decided today that the staff room was boring, and I was going to start having lunch with my students in their classrooms (there is no lunch room). Four people were playing BW when I walked in. I promised them that I would bring my copy next week! Unfortunately, they're all at lvl 100! I'm at lvl 30! I have a lot of catching up to do.

Anyway, if you ever do find yourself on the Japanese train, you can shout: "Minnasan! Dareka Poketto Monster de shoubu shimashou!!!" It's not the most natural-sounding Japanese (I don't know what is), but it'll get your point across. ;)

im waitin for the english game cuz i cant find an easy downloadable rom from a godd website

I'm using the Rom but I'm also waiting until the English version comes out so that I can buy it.

I'm using a ROM since I don't really want to ship it and everything. I'm waiting for the English version too though.

I own a DSi, so there's no way I could import it and play it. Furthermore, I don't own an R4i. So, I just did my playthrough to Hiun to see how it looks like. I might continue in the future, but... I really want to pay Nintendo for their hard work. (:

I'm too impatient to wait for the German version, so I'm playing the Japanese version. I understand some Japanese which has already helped me a few times in the game.
I have a legal copy, because playing the ROM seems to be a waste of time for me. Playing a ROM, I won't be able to trade or battle online and my training will be for nothing. Also playing the game again after I've already played it before on a ROM kinda makes it uninteresting. That's also the reason why I'm not sure whether I'm actually going to get the German version once it's released here.

Awesome...I hope to try that someday on a train..! :) And it's cool that teachers and students can challenge each other to Pokemon battles during lunch; it seems like a fun way of getting to know and interacting with each other aside from the typical learning/classroom encounters and conversations. Videogames in school FTW!

I'm somewhat surprised that they have BW Pokemon at Level 100 already! In another thread I read on here it seemed like most people only raise a select few Pokemon to Level 100 (if any at all) due to the amount of time needed for such training and the monotony/repetitiveness of it...

But yeah...still waiting for the English release of Pokemon Black Version. Or more preferably, BW's third version.

Just riding the Yamanote line from Shinjuku to Akihabara nets me something like 50 people on the すれ違い通信, and wow, I got two guys coming into my world via Highlink on the 20 min train ride.

Also at collage, walking from campus A to campus B gives me similar results too.
Never knew Pokemon was (still) so big here.

I'm currently using a ROM put into a R4. Double Illegal ftw

No I don't know ANY Japanese, I still managed to get about 18 hours into the game. Caught Kyuremu and Vinciti and... still got my master ball lol

I was going to originally use a rom and emulator. But in the end, I couldn't even open Desmume, without it crashing. (Probably karma for just attempting to use a rom ;<_<) So, I went on Ebay and brought myself Pokemon Black legally, it came in the mail pretty fast and I'm now playing it for the third time as I'm typing this.

I am doing the most expensive thing by importing AND buying the US release. I buy/import them asap and play them raw until the english patches come out. Then i make/dump my own roms so I can use the patches to understand the story better as i play. But the patches are only to hold me over until I get the legit US version. so thats like.... 3 sets? XD I am so impatient/addicted.

I'm just waiting for the English version, mostly because that i don't understand Japanese well...

I would play a ROM if i downloaded the ROM properly, but that will never happen.
