I ain't really interested in the new Pokemon shows :(

    I hate the new Pokemon shows now because they lost their humor. In the old Pokemon shows, they had humor and they gave you a feeling of happiness, fun, and joy. Now they are paying more attention to the story, which makes the story more boring and no fun. Who agrees?
     
    I'm going to try and say this without coming off as a complete prick, but...good for you?

    You don't have to like Pokemon. If you have a problem with it, you have to suck it up. I've had to put up with a lot of crap I haven't agreed with in the anime, the most prominent being the replacement of Misty, and so have many of the show's other fans.

    Shows change direction. Adapt, or don't. That's not going to change the fact that the show's going in a new direction.

    For God's sake, the upcoming Japanese episode might see my favorite Pokemon ever to grace the anime get released. Do you think I'd be up and content to see it get completely and utterly tossed aside just because a "cooler" Pokemon is taking its place? I find it utter BS.

    There are also many other things just within this season people have disagreed with. Ambipom's release, Dawn in general, Piplup stealing the spotlight, and, on a more personal level, having to witness Turtwig evolve. As if that wasn't enough, I had to witness Chimchar evolve...when it totally wasn't effing necessary.

    tl;dr version: Suck it up, princess.

    Yes I totally agree especially how the old episodes had good voice actors and decent audio. I just loved how when Ash tried to yell it seemed like talking in a slower motion. The old episodes were simply the best because Misty was in it.

    No seriously the old episodes were a pile of $^@#, just because you saw it when you were little and now you're grown up and it doesn't appeal to you doesn't make the old episodes better. Have you actually payed attention to the old episodes, they made no sense. Not to mention Sleep Powder making it an instant win in Pokemon League. The series wasn't actually that good until Orange Islands and during then it was still mediocre.

    Remember people nostalgia is the most BS reason ever for liking something.
     
    yeah i to agree that its a booring show now that they dont have fun or action

    (i dont like any seasons of pokemon anime but i totally like movies coz they have some action)
     
    i watch the new episodes because, we'll face it i like pokemon, but yeh the humor has gone and it tends to get borring.
     
    Nostalgia Filter at its best...

    The first season was a classic but it was far from good compared to the later seasons.
     
    I think it's just the fact that all of the older fanbase is.. well.. older. xD; We're not 10 anymore, and if I had been 22 when Pokemon had originally aired, I wouldn't have shown any interest in it all, I doubt. Can't say that for certain, but I find the anime isn't as appealing to me anymore, because I'm older, and it's still being aimed at 10-year-olds. Just because we don't enjoy them as much as we used to doesn't mean the show is getting any worse, as it still appeals to a LOT of younger kids world-wide, it's just not made to please teenagers/adults.

    I will admit though, that some DP episodes can still make me smile or laugh on occasion, which is nice. I just don't enjoy them as much I used to, nor do they get me as riled up anymore. However, that makes sense. :x
     
    Yeah, I like the action that Diamond & Pearl has over Kanto's humor. You see, I like action over comedy anytime of the week especially when the comedy show has **** action scenes and the action show has crap comedy scenes. I'll take a good action and funny show over the former two though.

    For the sake of promoting positive, healthy discussion, I'd appreciate it if you elaborate on how.

    We all have our ideas, but since you obviously have some here, I'd like to see what your opinion is on how to improve the show.

    I think the newer episodes are kind of annoying, but I only watched maybe 5 DP episodes so I can't say for sure. I haven't really watched pokemon since the show went to Hoenn. So overall I'm not that disappointed since I no longer watch it anyways. Although, every once in a while I'll just watch an old Kanto episode just to relive the old days. :)

    If I were you I would just watch the old episodes and forget about the new ones if it really bothers you.
     
    Well, I am not saying that I hate it, I just think that they are getting pretty boring. I don't watch any of the shows. My opinion is that they focus on the story and the point of Pokemon, but just ad some humor at least.
     
    I really don't get the point of this...
    If you don't like how the anime is going...well just suck it up...
    The show is aimed at people 6-10 years-old and more likely you're above that age...so...why are you still watching it...
     
    I gotta agree that the new show is not as good as the old one. For one just look at the creativity of all the Pokemon names of the first 151. Most of them had some cool meaning (ekans - snake, arboc - cobra, abra kadabara alakazam, etc.) I personally still watch the old ones but haven't found a justifiable reason to watch the new ones

    For me i reckon Pokemon is losing it's touch, they seem to be running out of cool new ideas. And what's with having these stupid Pokemon Beauty Contests in the TV show!!!!! Pokemon are made for battling.
     
    Yes, that's nice. Thank you for sharing with us. Now please, may I ask what was the purpose of this thread? You don't like the new Pokémon episodes; that's no reason to go harp on about it to the rest of the Internet. We've heard quite enough of that already.

    Seriously, guys, we get it. Pokémon is bad now. Deal with it and stop watching the Mewforsaken show!
