I Couldn't Think of a Witty or Suitable Title, So I Instead Settled for a Long One

Well hello there :) The name's Adzy Kayy, but you can call me Adam if it suits you. I'm new to the whole "forum-account-creation-welcome-thread" thing, as I haven't actually been on a forum in something like 4 years.

But don't let my single digit post count and pitiful join date fool you! I've been part of the PokeCommunity for a long, long time; I just haven't actually engaged myself in it as far as making an account :')

I did have an account a while back, but I've since forgotten both the username AND the email (I really am forgetful when it comes to the past couple of years!)

Grab yourself a drink and some popcorn, (hey now; none of that pathetic butter popcorn! Here, have some toffee popcorn instead.) and brace yourselves for a story of epic proportions!

When I was a young boy, I lived for ROMs. I would rip sprites in my spare time and make up comics while I was at school. I loved the whole Spriting thing, gaining said love from sites such as TSR and MFZ. With Spriting came my love of ROMs and more specifically, ROM hacks. It was then that I discovered this community along with Sonic Retro. I used to browse the ROM-hacks section a lot, checking out all of the latest hacks and even play-testing a couple.

That was back when I had a sub-par computer and the only things I could play were GBA ROMs and the odd Genesis ROM (*Cough*Sonic*Cough*). So you can imagine that this took up very much of my childhood while I wasn't at school.

And then, one fateful day, I discovered the world of Youtube commentary. People like NintendoCapriSun, SirRonLionHeart, Cybershell and ChuggaaConroy. These guys were my new heroes. I made a promise to myself that I'd follow in their footsteps one day, but with my poor-grade computer, that didn't seem possible.

But after a few years, my life of education came to a close, and I bought myself a gaming PC. Since then I haven't been doing much ROM playing, with games like TF2, Minecraft and Left 4 Dead taking up most of my days. I bought myself a SD capture card (A TerraTec Grabby) and started recording LPs. I did LPs of Super Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2 before realising that I wasn't well enough equipped. I was young, inexperienced and I had poor recording gear (An analog desk mic plagued with static, a crappy capture card and terrible editing software).

So I started a fresh. Using the same Youtube account, I aimed to maximise the quality of my videos (both audio and video) while still retaining the constant stream of uploads that I had back when I started out.

It was then that I discovered The Yogscast, HatFilms and The Creatures. These guys remade my view on Commentary. They each had something they excelled in; The Yogscast had their popularity with Minecraft, their British-ness and their organization (with series' such as Shadow of Israphel), HatFilms had amazing editing skills and their personalities gelled so well with each other, and The Creatures had the best of both worlds. They had someone who uploaded 12 videos a day without fail, someone who provides comic relief in the more serious moments with their insane yelling and smashing of keyboards, a great voice actor with Mexican heritage, a crazy Puerto-Rican with a love for puppies and singing, a Canadian with a great skill in Redstone and other logic-based things, A man who can edit over 100 hours of footage into one action-packed video (and pull of a pretty accurate Southern-American accent to boot), and finally, a red cap wearing man with a love for cats and lens flares. Oh, and a horse.

Well, that was a long paragraph! But anyways:

So with all of these things in mind, I finally realised what I had to do. I bought a HD capture card for console LPs, upgraded my PC and purchased Sony Vegas, as well as an improved mic.

"But what does this have to do with Pokémon?" I hear you ask! Well, my main reason for joining this community officially is so that I have a place to show people my LPs. I plan on doing many Pokémon LPs and I will definitely do some LPs of the ROM hacks showcased here.

I'm already in the process of a Pokémon Emerald LP, of which I intend on rebooting today as soon as I finish posting this long-ass introduction!

If you've stayed with me for this long I applaud you. Give yourselves a pat on the back for goodness sake! I can't half write, as you will all learn to find out :')

    With that said; Hello everyone!

Have fun reading through all of that, Cirno.

Anyway, hello and welcome to the forum. Best of luck with your LPs.

    Ah, for this intro...

[PokeCommunity.com] I Couldn't Think of a Witty or Suitable Title, So I Instead Settled for a Long One

Should I create a ham and toffee popcorn sandwich? Or perhaps a sushi box-deluxe meal, with popcorn toffee on the side? Or dear me, the possibilities are endless.

    Then again...

[PokeCommunity.com] I Couldn't Think of a Witty or Suitable Title, So I Instead Settled for a Long One

With detective Ema Skye, there's really no possibilities if it didn't start with 'snackoos'.

That being said, welcome Adam! Or should I say, welcome back! You have the same name as one of my childhood friends. <3 Quite the coincidence. :3 Well, you are doing a great job so far in this intro as far as I can tell. xD Being on a forum is not that bad though! Like here in PC, it might of been tough to get used to everything at first, but, eventually, it'll get to ya. However, I'm glad that you took the time to create another account and come back for another level here. ^^

You know, I used to make sprite comics from time to time myself. :3 Call it... a hobby of mine; I used to make sprite fusions, and sprite edits myself. It's actually quite easy, and quite fun! Though, I think the sprites I created got deleted when I changed to my laptop, but oh well. Yeah, the ROM section here is pretty popular. Most people who join here nowadays join solely for the ROM Hacks people produce. Quite an advertisement, no? Also, while I haven't discovered ROM Hacking until I was about... 15 years old, my Gameboy and Gameboy Advance SP provided my entertainment. Although, I vaguely recall playing a Pokemon Yellow ROM when I was younger... I don't remember that all too well, however.

Ah, I've heard about those Youtube commentators well~ In fact, I've watched a a couple of their videos with a great deal of interest to each one. <3 And I agree - each YouTube commentator have their own style of doing things, you know? I've known a couple of pokemon LPers who doesn't just stick to one thing - they mix it up and provide their own style, per se. It's incredible because no one is the same - we get the opportunity to explore each one, and possibility get inspiration to do our own things as well. ^^

I am glad that each YouTube commentator you've looked up to has changed your views and style. I have a great feeling that your LPs will be come great to enjoy. <3 Pokemon Emerald is definitely a great game to do a LP on - in fact, it's one of the most enjoyable pokemon games I've played in my opinion. Then again, I want to pop one the person who made Feebas ridiculously hard to find on the nose, but regardless.

Of course, things won't go easily all the time, but that's the beauty of it. <3 In fact, I find that box lunches can sway the heart to try harder. That, and the beauty of science. :3

...Yes, I can make science references too, tieing into lunch. Eat your heart out, Ema Skye.

That being said, thank you very much of taking your time to post this intro! It was a pleasure to read and respond too. <3 I do hope that one day, we'll cross paths again! Since you've returned to PC, I -do- recommend to take a gander at the rules again if you haven't already - there has been minor changes, but they are important to follow nonetheless. Also, you know there's an event that's coming soon on the 24th, right? Feel free to check it out on that day, if you're not busy. <3 But yeah! Enjoy your stay!

I, myself have a toffee popcorn lunch box to finish. PS. That's quite the clever username; it quite rolls off the tongue. <3

Well, I wasn't expecting a reply quite as detailed as mine! It's great that someone took the time to actually read all that I had to say :)

Thank you for the warm welcome Miss Doronjo! It's odd that you should mention this coincidence, for I had a childhood friend that loved Phoenix Wright, though their favourite character was by far Franziska (Mine was Edgey, obviously!) Could we have perhaps known each other in a past life?! Who knows! it's unlikely though, but a crazy coincidence nonetheless!

I've had my fair share of forums, trust me :) However they have almost always ended sourly. Well, it wasn't always my fault that they did :') One departure was the result of a horrible community, and another was the result of me starting a project and being pestered every hour of every day to finish it, which got me riled to no end! I know from experience that this community is a friendly and chirpy one, though as I said earlier I haven't been on here in a while; I've been busy playing Pokémon White too!

You did? That's interesting :) My sprite comics were always Sonic related, as I was heavily influenced by the works of Shippidge, before he became known as "The guy that makes the Smashtasm" on YouTube. I loved making sprite edits! Once I made a character called Syrus the Cat, based off of a mixture of Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles and Tails sprites (ripped from Sonic Battle). He then became the titular character in one of my comics. Another, more AA orientated edit I made was of a prosecutor known as Zach Fletcher. He used a mix of Nick, Apollo and a young Klavier Gavin :) I still have the sprites somewhere if I can find them...

I've actually made two ROM hacks in the past, or started them at least. I really only made them for my own benefit, hoping to maybe release them and announce them when they were finished. I'm not one for building hype and then releasing a product worthy of the hype you see :') Both were hacks of Fire-Red, and I focused mainly on map-making and such, as scripting got me into all sorts of trouble! Graphics design and story writing is definitely my forte!

Oh yes, they can really pull you in! I never once thought that I would ever be seen doing LPs of games; I wanted to be an animator or a games designer! But when you have nothing to do on a rainy day off school your mind wanders and I stumbled upon them :)

Yes, I agree with you there! Pokémon Emerald was my all time favourite handheld Pokémon game :) I just loved the secret bases! And the sheer size of it compared to the previous games (Bar G/S/C of course). However, with the release of Soul Silver and Heart Gold, I'm afraid the award for best Pokémon Game goes to them! I just love what Game Freak did with the game and how true it stayed to the old storyline whilst adding elements that only enhanced the lore!

I also hate the person that placed Feebas in that tiny pool! But I hate the person that made it that hard to evolve in Generation III even more!

Haha, would you believe me if I said that Ema Skye was the character that made me want to pursue a career in forensics? I love science!

I'll give the rules a good once-over and check out that event too :) Oh and yeah, an old friend though of that name a long time ago. I've used it ever since!

Enjoy your lunchbox and thanks again for the warm welcome!

    Hello Adam, I am Hikari.

I am often considered hiding many personas, cos I am unpredictable. People always love to question my gender lol :D

I heard you have something to do with ROM hacking, so maybe check out Emulation?

Anyways, I'm free for a VM chat anytime. Many consider me interesting to chat with (cos of all those personalities I conceal).

Have a fun time and I'll see ya!

    - Hikari10, "I am not your average crazy newsman..."

    Hello Hikari :)

I'll check out the Emulation section at some point as it's been a while since I was last there!

Yeah sure, and if you have a Steam account or Xbox Live you should add me and we'll have a few games of something :) I might even record them depending on my schedule!

Have fun reading through all of that, Cirno.

    Hey, I enjoy reading!

Anyway, welcome to PC! 4 years is quite a while to not get involved in a forum, personally I've gotten so into PC that it's hard to see me spending my online time on a place other than forums, haha.

ROMs are addicting though, I was veryy into them for a few years too. Shiny Gold especially ate up a lot of my time. <3 I've heard of those commentators you listed, in fact one of my very favorite people on Youtube is part of one of those Youtube game groups!

Aaalso, luckily we do have a Let's Play section here, so you should definitely check that out! There's also Emulation, of course, which some people have already linked you to :3

It was actually pretty fun reading this, very rarely do I see someone pour so much time and thought into an intro. Hopefully you stick around, because I know you'll fit in very well~! <3

Wow! That, honestly was a great intro. I read the whole thing and I found it very interesting! So much detail :).
I would tell a huge story, but I'm still in school and haven't started 'living' ;).
Sometimes I like tl;dr's cause they tell a lot of the story. But if they're argumetive based, I don't even bother wasting my time to read it. Well welcome to PC anyway.
Sometimes I get the urge to make a hack, but I can't script (well I can decently), and I can't sprite. Those would be the only things I'd be interested in doing.
You're to off to a great start to this forum :), If anything you're like a natural.
Well i'll see you later, if you have any questions, ask and moderators, such as Cirno or you could ask me. PS. I had enjoyed reading the intro.
    Later :)

Hello there, Adam, we actually share the given names!
I see that you love making LPs on YouTube, that's great as they are usually very helpful!
I'm looking forward to watching your very own Pokemon LPs :)
You sure love writing a lot to write such a long intro(I read through it with pleasure, though)!
Anyway, what Pokemon games do you actually play?
And about anime? Do you like watching it?
Anyway, welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay!

Hey welcome! Don't have much to say, but just enjoy your time here!

It was actually pretty fun reading this, very rarely do I see someone pour so much time and thought into an intro. Hopefully you stick around, because I know you'll fit in very well~! <3

Thanks :) I'm going to post my LPs in the Let's Play section now as I've just got back from work. Glad to see that a few people on here like reading my "Keyboard Marathons" :D There'll be plenty more to come I assure you!

Sometimes I get the urge to make a hack, but I can't script (well I can decently), and I can't sprite. Those would be the only things I'd be interested in doing.

Spriting is easy once you know how! I started spriting on Paint XP, and since then I've moved on to things like Photoshop and GIMP for sprite comics :) You just need a fair bit of patience if you're making a sprite sheet from scratch!

Anyway, what Pokemon games do you actually play?
And about anime? Do you like watching it?

I have played Red, Blue, Yellow, Stadium 1, Stadium 2, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Emerald, Colosseum, All of the Mystery Dungeons, All of the Pokémon Rangers, Pokemon Link, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Soul Silver, Heart Gold, Black and White! So I've played a fair few let's say :p

I used to watch the Anime as a child and I still sometimes watch them from time to time. When I first got my Wii I watched most of the newer episodes from the Diamond/Pearl series but since then I've been pretty much out of the loop D:

Hey welcome! Don't have much to say, but just enjoy your time here!

Thanks again for all the welcomes everybody!

EDIT: Upon reading the rules of the LP section, I've found that I won't be able to upload ANY of my current or future LPs as they contain a fair few cases of bad language :( It's a shame, but it's the way I commentate and if that isn't suitable for this forum, then I think it's best that I don't post them here. Sorry guys!

I'll try and make an LP in the future that is completely clean and family friendly!

Hey, i am just like you, but i am very new. If you havent already seen him you should watch Captainsparklez. He is an amazing gaming commentator and he is my ido. Maybe we could join forces some day??

I don't watch him much but I have seen his work :) And I'm always looking for people to make a series with, so we'd be able to do an LP sometime perhaps :)
