Well hello there :) The name's Adzy Kayy, but you can call me Adam if it suits you. I'm new to the whole "forum-account-creation-welcome-thread" thing, as I haven't actually been on a forum in something like 4 years.
But don't let my single digit post count and pitiful join date fool you! I've been part of the PokeCommunity for a long, long time; I just haven't actually engaged myself in it as far as making an account :')
I did have an account a while back, but I've since forgotten both the username AND the email (I really am forgetful when it comes to the past couple of years!)
Grab yourself a drink and some popcorn, (hey now; none of that pathetic butter popcorn! Here, have some toffee popcorn instead.) and brace yourselves for a story of epic proportions!
When I was a young boy, I lived for ROMs. I would rip sprites in my spare time and make up comics while I was at school. I loved the whole Spriting thing, gaining said love from sites such as TSR and MFZ. With Spriting came my love of ROMs and more specifically, ROM hacks. It was then that I discovered this community along with Sonic Retro. I used to browse the ROM-hacks section a lot, checking out all of the latest hacks and even play-testing a couple.
That was back when I had a sub-par computer and the only things I could play were GBA ROMs and the odd Genesis ROM (*Cough*Sonic*Cough*). So you can imagine that this took up very much of my childhood while I wasn't at school.
And then, one fateful day, I discovered the world of Youtube commentary. People like NintendoCapriSun, SirRonLionHeart, Cybershell and ChuggaaConroy. These guys were my new heroes. I made a promise to myself that I'd follow in their footsteps one day, but with my poor-grade computer, that didn't seem possible.
But after a few years, my life of education came to a close, and I bought myself a gaming PC. Since then I haven't been doing much ROM playing, with games like TF2, Minecraft and Left 4 Dead taking up most of my days. I bought myself a SD capture card (A TerraTec Grabby) and started recording LPs. I did LPs of Super Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2 before realising that I wasn't well enough equipped. I was young, inexperienced and I had poor recording gear (An analog desk mic plagued with static, a crappy capture card and terrible editing software).
So I started a fresh. Using the same Youtube account, I aimed to maximise the quality of my videos (both audio and video) while still retaining the constant stream of uploads that I had back when I started out.
It was then that I discovered The Yogscast, HatFilms and The Creatures. These guys remade my view on Commentary. They each had something they excelled in; The Yogscast had their popularity with Minecraft, their British-ness and their organization (with series' such as Shadow of Israphel), HatFilms had amazing editing skills and their personalities gelled so well with each other, and The Creatures had the best of both worlds. They had someone who uploaded 12 videos a day without fail, someone who provides comic relief in the more serious moments with their insane yelling and smashing of keyboards, a great voice actor with Mexican heritage, a crazy Puerto-Rican with a love for puppies and singing, a Canadian with a great skill in Redstone and other logic-based things, A man who can edit over 100 hours of footage into one action-packed video (and pull of a pretty accurate Southern-American accent to boot), and finally, a red cap wearing man with a love for cats and lens flares. Oh, and a horse.
Well, that was a long paragraph! But anyways:
So with all of these things in mind, I finally realised what I had to do. I bought a HD capture card for console LPs, upgraded my PC and purchased Sony Vegas, as well as an improved mic.
"But what does this have to do with Pokémon?" I hear you ask! Well, my main reason for joining this community officially is so that I have a place to show people my LPs. I plan on doing many Pokémon LPs and I will definitely do some LPs of the ROM hacks showcased here.
I'm already in the process of a Pokémon Emerald LP, of which I intend on rebooting today as soon as I finish posting this long-ass introduction!
If you've stayed with me for this long I applaud you. Give yourselves a pat on the back for goodness sake! I can't half write, as you will all learn to find out :')
With that said; Hello everyone!
