Has anyone gone through phrases where they are completely obsessed with a song and then a few weeks later you like something completely different?

I guess I should put it in a more direct question:
Q: How often does your taste in music change?

For example, one month you like pop and hate hip-hop, the next you like hip-hop and dislike something else and so on and so forth.

Yeah I go through phases my taste changes like every 2 months.

The only reason why I would like a song and then suddenly not like it is if it is once not popular ans then explodes on the radio and everyone is plaing/singing it. It annoys me but I usually start to like them again when they are no longer so popular. One example

Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)
It was great until it got so huge but now I love it again. For a while it was annoying to me without the video attatched.

I used to be not interested in any music up to maybe 2 month ago, since them I'm into metal (I used to believe into the stereotype that it's just noise and screams and horrible, but found out what a lie this is).
But I remember finding some pop songs not too bad some years ago, now it's really not my cup of tea any more.

Half of the songs in my iPod I used to love, but now I barely listen to them. I'll stop listening to a song for a month or so, then randomly play it, and become obsessed with it again. It's just natural for me. But I never delete any songs off of my iTunes because each one I bought/imported for a reason.

Thank you for understanding exactly what I was asking. I come to that problem often, where I would buy a song (since I don't download songs illegally anymore now that I've got a job and am getting a form of income) and listen to it for days and then suddenly, I listen to something other than that song and become uninterested in the song I was previously listening to and all the songs from that album or that artist become non-existent to me.

Every now and then I go through phrases of liking a particular genre and then listening to another, then becoming uninterested in the previous genre and so on and so forth,... my taste in music is wide enough on its own, so its strange for me not to become uninterested in a genre every now and then... I think?

I hate half the music on my iPod and have to skip to find songs I want to hear. ): I just can't stand listening to stuff I already heard thousands of times before, but then I go back to it eventually and enjoy it more. XD

Let me show you a situation I had with I Got A Feeling - Black Eyed Peas, which goes how I roll with my music.

Month 1 - First heard the song, and loved it.
Month 1 1/2 - Its on the radio now, yay!
Month 2 - Its on the radio all the time, yay?
Month 2 1/2 - I can not stand listening to this anymore! *Turns off radio whenever song comes up*
Month 5 - Woah, did I hate this song? Its actually pretty good!

I usually will love one band one day, then love another one a week later

I was like that with All That Reamins. I was infatuated for like a year. Now they are kinda boring to me:/ But luckily it's cyclic:)

Well for the most part I listen to 4 different genres at a time. Eventually though I'll crave to listen to something else like hip hop. After a few days off hip hop or whatever else I'm dying to listen to I go back to my main 4.

After listening to one song a few hundred times, I kinda start getting tired of it. That is, until I stopped playing it for a month. Then all the good memories I had with Don't Trust Me - 3OH!3 came rushing back. :)

I don't really like paparazi by lady gaga anymore, I hear it everywhere now it's annoying >_<

Keep Tryin' By Utada Hikaru (Example)
I Loved The Song & MV The First Time I Heard It, Then The More I Heard It The More I Got Annoyed With It And Then I Loved It After A While Without Hearing It!

I can say I feel this with almost every hip-hop song I used to love 2-3 years ago. Then again, about the only music I listen to are Hendrix, Foreigner, Stevie Wonder and Nirvana with a few other 80's bands mixed in (lol mixed bag)

I used to have this problem. But then I realized what was happening and so now I try to limit myself. I do my best to listen to a variety of different songs and if I find I've been indulging in a particular artist or album, I'll set it/them aside for a while and put on something that I haven't listened to in a while. It helps each song stay fresh longer and it makes listening to each song all the more enjoyable if you only get to listen to it once in a while.

I have those overheard songs that die on me, but it takes about two weeks to a month to like them again. It really all depends on my mood. Music genres depend on how I feel, so when I'm feelin' good, it usually might not matter how much I hear a song. (I'll still like it because I'm in that particular mood)

I used to like rock for like 2 months when I was younger then I went back to liking rap/hip hop.
