So earlier today, I was playing on my new nuzlocke file for BDSP. I had backtrack to catch a Magikarp in Twinleaf town and I was heading back to Jubilife City to get Route 204 and Ravage Path encounters. I'm going through Route 202 and boom, I encounter a shiny Shinx. I was stunned at the fact that it was actually there. After taking a moment to think, I decided to just implement Shiny Clause and catch it. I caught it in the first pokeball and now I have a shiny Shinx sitting in Pokémon Home. Like the title says, this is my first main series shiny I've caught and it lifted my mood from earlier in the day.

Way to go! I'm not too fond of shiny Shinx or its evolutions, but hey, a shiny is a shiny!

You seem like you mainly collect the shiny Pokémon that interest you the most, based upon your signature.

As of now, whenever i shiny hunt, i mainly do it on a whim when it comes to random encounters. Kind of like a "Let's see what on earth i get this time" type deal. As i said, a shiny is a shiny, so whatever i end up getting, i'm usually happy with it. Even if said pokemon isn't what i was wanting to get.

On the topic of soft resetting, though, i don't usually shiny hunt that way because the repetitiveness of holding L+R+Start+Select is a bit hard on my hands. I only soft reset for pokemon (mainly starters/legendaries, static encounters, etc.) that i genuinely want. If it's available to soft reset and i can say to myself "I want that" then i'd probably go for it. I think the same could be said for breeding, but i don't really do that either. I'm not sure why. I guess it's because breeding takes a LOT longer?

But overall i'd say your statement is half true!
