"I hate to be a Grammar Nazi, but..."

I am definitely a Grammar Nazi. Especially with typos. TYPOS ARE MY ARCHNEMESIS. I see them on signs and in school papers and in books and EVERYWHERE and I just want to scribble them out!! Yeah, I know that is weird, but whatever.

There's this printing shop place near my house that has "stationary" instead of "stationery" on its sign.

Also, recently I saw a sign advertising fruit and it spelled "avocados" wrong. They spelled it like this- 'avacados'

In terms of what I spell wrong, I used to have a lot of trouble with necessary and definitely. I have to spell Necessary in my head to get it right, and I sound out Definitely in my head. lolol.

The one word I will never misspell again- A-C-Q-U-A-I-N-T-I-A-N-C-E. I got out in my school Spelling Bee on that. Never forget the freakin' C.

My spelling sucks. I couldn't begin to tell you the amount of words I cannot spell off the top of my head. ALL OF THEM. @____@ If it's long and I don't use it too often I will probably misspell it.

Oddly enough, despite writing, I don't flip if people misspell words or use incorrect grammar on the Internet. The best I get is irritated, and even then I still won't say anything.

That reminds me of one of my bosses. She keeps spelling ensure as insure. One day I am going to tell her "I cannot insure that I can do what you want, but I can ensure that I do." One day...

I can never spell "desperate" right. I always add a second a somewhere. I honestly don't care how others type, and I hate grammar nazis who find a way to feel better about themselves by correcting others' English.

I still don't know how to correctly spell definate/definite. At school, we learn it as definate, but on the Internet, I see it as definite or when definate is underlined in red, the top suggestion is definite, so I'm still unsure on that one.

I always spell occasion wrong upon the first go. Even now, before I spell-checked it, I either put just one 'c' in or two 's's or a combination of both. I can't remember the last time where I spelt it correctly on the first try, which is weird because I normally pride myself on my spelling. It's just this one word that always seems to get the better of me, for some reason...

The only word that comes to mind is definitely. For some reason, I almost always type it out as definately, then have to go through the strenuous effort of correcting myself.

Though, I'm sure there are a lot more that I'll misspell a lot more often than definitely if I added them to my everyday vocabulary.

I have trouble with double letter words like necessary and professor. I always try to add letters like, 'neccessary.' Oh and this isn't a misspelling, but I also overuse commas by putting them in places where I would pause to speak. I'm sure it's annoying.

I get on to people for basic grammar sometimes, too (also annoying). For example, if someone doesn't know the difference between 'your' and 'you're' I attempt to correct them in the friendliest manner possible.

For a while, I was unable to spell "patience" correctly; I just couldn't get it right LOL. And up until about a year ago, I would put an apostrophe in the word "its" (as in the possessive, not the contraction). Glad I finally fixed that, haha.

Any word that has double letters but also has another letter that could be doubled. Or a word that has two sets of double letters. They always throw me off. So do words like Secretary because it could be pronounced se-cra-tery or se-cre-tery. I never know which vowel to use.
Also I don't know if this counts but I'm always getting confused between Their There and They're. No matter how many times I've tried to learn the differences and where they can be applied it just never seems to stick.

I don't point out spelling mistakes or grammar mistakes unless it makes it impossible to understand.

Definitely. For the longest time, I was never able to spell that, and had to substitute it with "certainly".

I also have issues with ie words... or was it ei?

The word "embarrass" will always embarrass me, no matter what the cost. Especially during essays in English class. I got a B+ instead of an A because of that word.

~Always.
