"I love you, I think"

Is it?

I think everyone here knows how hard it is to say "I love you" and actually mean it with all your honesty. You might say it like as if you're taking an aspirin, it's a temporary saying. You repeat yourself again and again, I love you, I love you, I love you, I think. And sometimes, it doesn't have to be repeated, if your significant other already knows.

Besides each has their own definition of love, and the term can be used with or without the desired emphasis.
That just shows you have no proof to counter my argument. There's no proof that true love exists. And when there's no proof that something exists, normally it's accepted that it doesn't. See ghosts and aliens.

There's no proof that true love exists.

Ghosts are superstitions and alliens do exist. That's a plain truth, believe it or not.

Love does exist. If it didn't we wouldn't need a term to define such situation.

A big situation that happens every day and is promoted by the major part of the human population not including the Yeti or Nessie.

It's merely meek to say that something can't be proven when is has been of such magnitude to society and the arts until our time from the beggining.

I also noticed you have limited the topic's premise & this concept of love from fraternal relationships. Does that mean you don't love your family?

It's the other way around. I think ghosts were real and aliens not proved yet.

That's using pure logic, too. When I say 'love' doesn't exist, I mean people don't feel it. Obviously it exists if we think of the concept of it. The word 'dragon' exists to name something we can think of, but it doesn't necessarily exists. We can think about love and describe it (or at least get the idea, if you say describing it it's too hard) but that doesn't mean there is actually love here in the world. As I said, by nature, we don't have a standard love feeling in our brains. It's a matter of society. Really, modern times emphasize it even more. We don't really express true love anymore, some feeling obviously, or maybe love in a low grade, but not something you would really call love.

And, yeah, the thread is just about love as in a couple.

I was discussing this with a friend. She said there's no real love, because we can all eventually get bored of our partner or something. I think it's kind of true. Do you really think phrases like "I can't live without you" or "I die if I don't see you" are true? Especially nowadays, love seems to be more unreal each time. What do you think? There's still real love out there or did it become extinct a while ago? Discuss.
I think that there's still real love. ^_^

Why are you so weak, Sasuke(s)?

Because you lack hatred.

Oops I'll get accused of spam.

Love is a real human concept. People seek it, because, well, there's no higher pleasure. Even ingenuity is nothing without love.

Yeah, love dies. Even when you're grown up and know what you want, everything you like in another person can be withdrawn from you at any second. Either from accidental or deliberate intentions. And, if by chance another lovable person comes into your life, it wouldn't be hard to see how you can let the your other love die. It doesn't mean the love never existed.

Yay, this poll is Poll of the Week! :D

*stuck*

Love is not just one thing. There are several things that create the feeling/condition known as love. There are the physical aspects of love such as attraction, there are the mental aspects such as personality. Love can be a necessity or yearning for something.

I don't think one can define love as it'll have a different meaning for everyone. Love is just love and only the person who is feeling it can tell if it's true or not.

I do believe that there is true love out there somewhere...you just need to find that person. When someone says "I love you," nowadays, they most likely don't mean it.

I have an opinion, but in reality, I'm too young to be saying if it still exists or not, or at least in my opinion my opinion shouldn't count for that reason. x_x;

But, I shall state it anyway, for the sake of not spamming XD

I personally think its pretty much died, people say they do love a person so much, and think they will until they die or they will love their partner for an extremely long amount of time, but I'm quite sure that love would run out quite a ways before then. I mean, there is true love, I am quite sure it still narrowly exists in some shape or form in most of our hearts, but true love doesn't necessarily last forever... or does it? Like I said, I'm too young to know these thngs. D; But as many said, the idea of love has just been killed by the media... especially things like rap. I once heard a statement "If there is true love between two people, it will work out.", but you know what, I doubt thats true, I mean, what happens if the two people knew eachother for a long time, but then one had to move away to a distant country? Yes, in most minds the fantasy of the two eventually meeting eachother when their mature'd adults would happen, but seriously, do you really think something of such a low chance of happening is going to happen everytime where there is 'true love' between two people? /=

Something that came at the right moment. There's a machine that can read people's mind, at least partially:

Read the "Big Love" part.

"Love might not be more than a chemical reaction"

What do you say about this? I guess that if you can read someone's brain working when he/she's loving, it means it not really such a complicated situation.

I believe that there's more to love than just an extremely strong feeling... I don't think I believe in 'True Love', persay - but rather in the idea that there is someone out there who is perfect for you: emotionally, physically, etc.... and will compliment you in every way.

It's more than an emotional bond.

That's a very good question..

Even though I believe love is one of the most important things (most important thing, really) in the world, I don't see it happening very strongly with what's commercialized and what's seen as 'the norm'.

But yes, I do believe real, unwavering, entirely faithful love exists. It just takes a certain level of maturity and wisdom to sort out the right person from all the jerks out there.

Love is still exist in my heart. I do believe in "True Love", but you got to find it first. It very hard to find someone who can love you for the way you are. Yeah of course, you ended up with someone. But over time that person could change and probably won't love you anymore. So I guess there are people who will think there is no such thing as "True Love". I agree on that part. There some people who take it for granted though and mess it up. Because of this there is domestic abuse and stuff. That is my point of view of this situation.

But it hasn't died in my eyes...just been hitting a few bumps.

I think love still excists. But I think, or, here in Norway the teengirls are saying "I love you" to everybody, so I think we overuse the word love.
But people can feel that they are dying without a person. If I didn't have my boyfriend I would be dead, or, not dead, but maybe dead inside.
But I don't think that everybody feel that in their life.

There is no such thing as love now. The may be a few cases, but barely an
I wish there was, might not have war's if there was, if we all banded together.

But it wont happen because there is no love in this world.

I disagree with all of you, I have found my true love =\.

I disagree. Without love, there is no such thing as hatred. Similarly, without war there is no such thing as peace. The one cannot exist without the other.

I disagree with all of you, I have found my true love =\.

I have found my true love as well <3

People may find "true love" but not often but how long will it last?

It doesn't last very long now.

No such thing

thats just what i think
