P R O L O U G E

Long ago, the Kingdom of Zaude were in a state of a war. Powerful war beasts known as pokemon used their power to claim glory, and dominance. Their goal is to acquire the Manifest, an incredibly powerful artifact that can unite the heavenly domain of Devaloka and the earthly plane of Naraka into one paradise... or destroy both. The powerful generals of this empire included the tactical pokemon, Virizion, the headstrong general pokemon, Cobalion, and its leader, the powerful pokemon, Terrakion. Zaude, however, powerful had a powerful enemy: the Ratio. The Ratio wanted to dominate their competition in order for them to be the most powerful force in the world, using the Manifest to carry out the task of having both worlds in one fist. These pokemon included: the pokemon of water, Suicune, the pokemon of lightning, Raikou, and the general, the pokemon of fire, Entei. They also believed that you should not run away from your beliefs that can only be defended by fighting. While these legendary pokemons' ideals conflicted, each were right in their own way.

One day, beneath a foreign sky, the mighty legendary pokemon Terrakion leads a charge against the armies of Ratio. Finally, the battle comes down to a duel between Terrakion and his greatest rival, Entei. Terrakion uses its most powerful move, The Sacred Sword attack, to defeat his enemy. With his last breath, Entei swears to evaluate the results of Entei's campaign in another life.

With the war over, The Imperial Capital of Zaude kept itself in peace. Pokemon and humans grew better and better relationships with each other, and re-made Zaude into a more safe, and peaceful society. Professor Vayne, a pokemon professor who studies the legendary 6 pokemon who watched over Zaude during the war, spent years, and years of searching for records of these beats, but so far, nothing, other than a small painting of what these beats might of looked like. What happened to these pokemon after the events that transpired into peace?

That question soon led her to the ancient temples of Zaude, where it had the only record of these pokemon, painted on the walls. Soon, it dawned on her - what if these pokemon weren't pokemon at all? In fact, what if they were at one point--

However, her thought was interrupted by footsteps. It was then that she saw him. A man who beared a strange red and blue mark on his face. He stared at Vayne with emotionless eyes, but he then turned and walked away out of sight...

THE Z A U D E EMPIRE

This Pokemon Journey RP takes place in the region of Zaude, that you can say is like a medieval England society when it comes to social behaviors, agriculture, and the Zaude empire. Their own brand of modernized technology exists in Zaude though. There were simple buildings like you see here today, as well as proper lighting, cooking, and so on.

This region actually lasted for centuries until today, but, it was often isolated from other regions. Despite that, modernization became common in Zaude. LATIOS, a newly created company that was said to be named after a mystical pokemon, created new technology in Zaude to pretty much help improve the work-style and lifestyle of the people living in Zaude. Their most recent technological inventions included pokeballs for capturing pokemon, the pokedex that recorded pokemon, and town photon barriers that protected the people in towns from strong, vicious, wild pokemon that lived nearby (who would usually kill anyone for a proper feast, no doubt).

Despite the convenience of this new technology, some people resented this new technology, because they still held a strong liking to the old world of medieval Zaude, before LATIOS was created. From this, the people of Zaude seem to be divided nowadays. Some think that industrialization is good and will help them to get a better life, and other say that their lives are good already and that the modern ways will only bring catastrophe to Zaude.

Long ago, It is believed that Pokemon were the spirits of deceased animals that took on a physical form. However, despite them being considered 'monsters', they are actually quite friendly towards people - under great care, of course. As such, the people soon gave these monsters a new name: pokemon. Like in Modern times, the Pokemon were owned by people, to perform a number of tasks such as hunting, scavenging, fishing, cleaning, and most of all, pokemon battling.

Pokemon battles are also quite common in Zaude. There is a ranking system based on the collection of symbols. Each of these symbols are given by a sort of Battle Master, if you defeat or impress them in a pokemon battle. Many kids and teenagers have been trying to collect these symbols - some failed, some succeeded. Why do they try? It's for respect, money, and influence. If someone were to collect all of these replica medallions, they would be recognized as a well-respected and influential person.


P L O T

With the arrival of the new battle masters, newer and newer trainers were starting to get their first pokemon, starting on their first journey. With Professor Vayne's ideals of studying the ancient legendary pokemon, she invited few trainers to obtain their first ever pokemon, going on their first journey with their own LATIOS branded pokedex. Hopefully, they'll be able to record interesting pokemon along their travels.

However, the good professor is not the only one who is interested in these pokemon. Aside from curiosity, the need for power was corrupting the Zaude empire. Certain parts of the Zaude empire, secretive from the throne, went underground to plan for the sole purposes of capturing these beasts. If they succeed, they could over-throne the heir to the throne. More so, LATIOS'S goal was of course to be as wealthy and well-known as possible. By learning of these pokemon, they theorized that by creating separate groups that were secretive to the Zaude empire, they might encounter these legendary pokemon and sell them for a tidy profit.

As a trainer who was invited by Professor Vayne, you've been quite excited to get your first pokemon for a while now, and also excited to start their first pokemon adventure in Zaude. One night, it looks like you've had a dream. All that you can recall is that you didn't feel like a human. It seemed as though you took on the body of a beast. It was sort of strange in this body - although, at the same time, it sort of felt right... Soon, the sky turns black. Lightning and fire started spread, destroying homes, and terrorizing the people of Zaude. Soon, you hear an unfamiliar voice: "Beware of the Oracle..." as you wake up the next morning.

Then... you start to feel weird. It seems as though you've been energized with powerful energy. The dream was probably nothing though, as you start your normal day. Little do you know, a special power has been awakened within you...

YOU, THE F A L L E N

Supposedly, 'the fallen' are people who were legendary pokemon in their past lives. They of course have no memory of their past lives, but they are said to have a special aura inside them - and this aura allows them to have special, mystical powers that helps them communicate and train their pokemon more efficiently. That, and a lot more dangerous powers were rumored, but there are no such sightings of these fallen. Until now. Even though you do not know it yet, (except hinted at a dream), you are one of these legendary fallen who have been invited by professor Vayne to start on your own pokemon journey across Zaude. Along they way, you'll probably want to aim to collect all of the symbols in Zaude by defeating the battle masters who held them.

You can choose one of these legendary pokemon that can represent you, as a fallen:

Along your journey when you've finally grasp who you've been, you must grapple with your nature: are you the person you've grew up as, or the legendary being whose memories you possess? Do you trust your allies as the friends you knows now, or should you remember them as enemies of the legendary pokemon you've been? What forgotten events transpired after the battle between Terrakion and Entei, and what happened to the Manifest? It's up to you to find those answers.

Other than the sacred 6 pokemon who participated in the war, there are tales and rumors about other Fallen people who are represented by other certain legendary pokemon:

RP Mechanics & Rules

• This RP is Rated T, so try to lower the gore and very intimate romance. Violent themes and occasional foul language are acceptable.
• Each time a new area (i.e. town and route) is introduced, Ill make a post stating what you can and can't do there, as well as possible optional quests you can do (like optional battle story lines).
• As you travel to new locations, main the story will also follow, so juuust keep an eye on that.
• When there's an area that you can catch pokemon in, I will of course, list each pokemon available for capture. If you are catching Pokémon, please end your post with the Pokeball shaking. Catching Pokémon will depend on post quality (which I decide)
• Levels will exist, but whenever you battle it will go up. Depending on the quality of your posts, your pokemon can learn additional egg moves / move tutor moves / TMs.
• You are allowed to carry as many pokémon on hand as you wish to. When entering official battles though, like battle master battles, you are only allowed to keep 6 pokémon on hand.
• You are allowed to make up whatever NPCs you wish during your journey. Also, and most importantly, I encourage player-to-player interaction! There is no taboo on making short posts (but well with in the standard RP rules) to interact with players.
• When you're in an master battle, you're free to bunny the Battle Master during your battle.
• Speaking of battles, please make it realistic! You're pokemon are not obviously going to beat every pokemon out there, nor can it dodge every single attack. Creativity counts~!

Name: Ericka "Eri" Kenway
Age: Seventeen and three months
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Physical: Ericka, who stands at a disappointing 5'4", looks a little too much like a child. With her face being a little rounded, speckled with freckles and a chest as flat as a board, you could say Ericka really hasn't hit puberty yet (she's not even sure herself). Her skin is olive toned with tanning, obvious if she takes her shoes off to see a completely obvious sock tan. Her hair, being a soft red, is long and well kept. She has a fringe which she parts to the right and often has her hair in a long pony tail, unless she's sleeping or feels uncomfortable. Her eyes are a hazel green, and are a smooth almond shape. Her cheeks are a little rosy and teeth a little crooked. As for her limbs and extremities, they are perfectly average for one her height and weight.

Clothing: Having grown up in a beach area, Ericka is used to beach clothes. This includes mainly cutesy summer dresses, short sleeved shirts and short shorts and, on the odd occasion, bikini top mixed with board shorts. Assorted jewellery is usually included as well as simple shoes to complete the outfit. Ericka takes pride in what she looks like and although a little distasteful on comments about how old she looks, she embraces a 'cute' look. For adventuring, she might dress a little hardier, like boots or something.​

Personality: Ericka is a bubbly ball of fun. She's energetic and excitable and it's very easy to make her laugh. She loves to make friends and will sometimes go out and do so intentionally if given the chance. When not working in her mother's grocery store, she's often about town, talking to the locals and greeting the tourists and newcomers. If there is one thing that she finds exceptionally annoying though, it's comments about her size or appearance. Not necessarily, "you're cute!" (she'd actually really enjoy a compliment like that) but when one finds out about her age, words such as "you look really young!" or "are you sure you're old enough to be doing that?" can tick her off so easily and so quickly. Because she's had those comments since she was 15 or so, she is fast losing her patience with them.

Other than that though, Ericka is the friendliest person you could ever meet. She also enjoys other pastimes like playing volleyball with her friends on the beach, playing guitar or a little bit of archery (though she's pretty awful at that. She just does it for fun, mainly). She's never interacted with Pokémon a lot, only seeing the few around town who belong to passerbyers, fisherman and her mother's Aipom which helps in the shop. She's always wanted to see the world, however. That's why going on this journey feels so important to her. With a chance for people to look past her size and see the champion she knows she can be, Ericka wouldn't pass up an opportunity like this for the world.

History: Ericka was born into a small beach town by the bay in Zaude. She was mainly raised by her mother as her father, an average fisherman, was lost at sea when she was very young, probably about 3 or 4 years old. To raise her daughter and son (Hal, younger than Ericka by 3 years), she used the money they had left to sell her father's boats and buy the local grocer. They both grew like any other kid; going to school, making friends, doing homework and on the odd occasion, helping their mother with her shop. Honestly, Ericka's life has been quite dull since she could ever remember and she would attach herself to anything new or exciting, be that reading the news intently every week or speaking to travellers about their lives and what the outside world is like. When an opportunity arose to leave her boring town and create her own story, Ericka was gone faster than her mother could say 'yes'.

With her, she carries a journal, which she plans on filling with tales of her adventures. What's on the first page? Details of a dream that was more interesting than all of the travellers' stories combined. Maybe it was her subconscious telling her it was time to get away...

Aina Martis

• Gender: Female
  
  
• Appearance: Aina has long, curly light blue hair in front that goes down to her neck, while she has short hair in the back. Her eyes are dark brown, complimenting her black eyebrows. She's about 5'10, about average height for her age. She has rather long arms, small hands, and long legs. Her skin is a natural bronze color. She wears a light blue crop top over a black T-shirt that hugs her rather slender figure and her small chest, and on her lower half she wears a pair of dark red silk pants. Aina is somewhat skinny, both in weight and in muscle mass. On her small feet are a pair of white ballet flats and white socks.
  
  Due to her weak immune system, she carries a white cold mask with her. She carries a tan satchel across her body, for the sake of carrying various items such as medicine and pokeballs.
  
  
• Personality: Aina has always been a sickly individual. She wasn't exactly bed ridden so much as she was cautious. Aina's parents were heavy believers that a lack of freedom in a child's life would lead to depression and indefinite innocence. They believed that their child should experience the world and not be confined to a bed. Because of this, Aina's parents decided to teach her about the common dangers of the world, causing Aina, in turn, to become a cautious individual. She's quite the adventurous individual due to the restrictions of her physical status. She loves to see the world for more than "the area around her house" is, and because of the restriction placed on how far she can go due to her fragile physical nature and sickly well being, she immerses herself in fantastical art and books. In doing so, she has become quite the intelligent individual, smarter than most of her age. Her family sees this trait as a treasure that makes their daughter a gem, and they promote such her creative enrichment because of it. Still, Aina is not at all pompous, largely because she is not self-aware. While she certainly isn't naive (she can't be), she knows not of her intellectual prowess, and due to her isolation she's unaware of exactly how different she is to others.
  
  Aina is incredibly fond of pokemon. Her social interaction is, as expected, kept to a minimum, so she can be quite lonely at times. Because of this, Aina was fascinated by the mysterious, intelligent creatures. She saw the pokemon as a human society, and she treated pokemon as if they were peers when she was a child. She awed in their mystery and pleasured in their mutual interaction. As she grew, she learned, both through books and through logic, about what they were and how they worked. She found that, later in life she could not treat pokemon as peers any longer, but she did not treat them as being lower than she was. They were, in a sense, her family and closest friends for most of her life, it would be a betrayal to go against them. She is actually quite sociable and friendly, but she is assertive and defensive when she needs to be. Aina is also quite confident in herself and is an ambitious individual.

• History: The Martis family is a normal middle class family; they weren't particularly rich, nor were they particularly poor. Thus, when Aina was born, sickly and anemic as she was, it was quite difficult for them to gain good professional help. Thus, the family was forced to turn to mostly homebrew methods to even stabilize her birth. The family was rather moderate sized, so it was no surprise that there be someone in the family well versed in herbology and medicine.
  
  Aina's particular branch of the family, however, wanted a higher status. While Aina's mother, Haynie, wasn't so aggressive about it and was almost indifferent, but her father, Kain, was almost competitive about it. It came as a shock when Aina was born that they could not again conceive another child. Initially, Aina bore no apparent significant skills. She wasn't athletic, she wasn't smart, she couldn't sing, she couldn't draw, and what's more, her father could not bring himself to force her to get involved in such activities. This was incredibly disappointing to her father, but as competitive as he was, he stayed with his wife and child, regardless. As time went on, however, Aina's restriction to their property led to the development of a very able-minded girl, something that her father was incredibly proud of and shocked by. He had not endorsed nor forced her to engage herself in such recreation, it was a natural development created of her own will. Of course, she wasn't aware of her ability, she simply noticed that her father showed more affection for her, and that made her happy.
  
  It didn't stop here, though. Kain had to figure out how to use such abilities to the family's advantage. Numerous plans were thought up, most of them she was either too frail to be in some and her mother wouldn't tolerate others, he was coming to a loss. Then he noticed an area of great interest to her, Pokemon. It was no secret that winning symbols not only won them fame and money, but above all, it won them power. With the intellect and imagination that Aina had, she would definitely be a shoo-in for pokemon battling. However, he wasn't going to endanger his daughter's life for his own ambition, however. No, it was an impossible request...so it seemed. One day, Aina woke up from bed talking about some strange dream she had. It was a hokey and jumpy, she clearly couldn't remember it all, but what was surprising was her insistence to go out and leave the premises. Both parents were shocked; they both knew that she was interested in "the outside world", but she'd never proposed actually leaving before, it was only natural, it was all that she knew. What's more, she had never been so full of life, so incredibly empowered, it was so grand and joyous that the two didn't question it. Kain took advantage of this so that he, his daughter, and the rest of the family could mutually benefit, contacting Professor Vayne, the local professor, and telling her of his daughter, her circumstances, and the recent occurrences. Intrigued, the professor sent him a letter intended for his daughter. The letter invited Aina to come to Vayne's laboratory for her first pokemon. Shocked and intrigued, Aina's parents properly suited her for the journey there and she set off.

Rin Shavi
Cooking for Three​

The sun was shining bright, its rays hitting the trees above, providing comfortable shade for the creatures below. A Pidgey was being roasted on a makeshift spit, and a girl was looking to the sky in wonder. Rin looked back to the spit to see that the Pidgey had been roasted to a glorious golden brown. Feign ran over to the spit, barking impatiently at his breakfast-to-be. Rin got up and started dividing the pieces among the two of them. The two were similar in their methods of eating the Pidgey, they were ravenous and aggressive, ripping it apart. After a short time, the Pidgey was completely devoured and all there was left was the skeleton. Rin let out a satisfied belch and stood up. "Okay, Feign, I need you to stay here and take care of Beau," Rin said, pointing to the Caterpie. "There are three of us now, and Beau is young, I'm going to have to go look for his food." After having uttered those words, Rin ran into the wilderness.

There were several ways Rin traveled through the wilderness, especially areas with condensed tree populations like forests, jungles, and now Route 1, one of which was jumping branch to branch. It's normally incredibly dangerous, but the size of the trees and the number of branches makes it so that she has more time to catch herself if a branch breaks. Now the way I see it, Beau will only need about three berries per meal, so if I find thirty berries, we'll be good for ten days, Rin thought to herself. She headed for a tree and started running up it. Her run then changed to a climb as she took out her knives and started stabbing into the tree, the knives almost acting as makeshift ladder steps that one grabs onto. After reaching a good sized branch, she climbed onto it and put her knives away. She scanned the area below and the tree leaves, but found no berries. She jumped to the next tree not to far away, the branch creaking under her weight. She scanned the area again, this time finding a large knothole in the tree, and inside there were berries. The problem was, guarding the berries were three Spinerak wandering the web covering the knothole. Rin considered taking them down and taking the berries, but it was most certainly more of a chore for them to obtain more than it was for her.

Elsewhere

When around Rin, Beau is very cuddly and affectionate, but around Feign he wasn't so friendly. This was likely because Rin was female and Feign wasn't, and because Feign is incredibly obedient, and despite his gentle nature, he's very defensive of and loyal to Rin, and he'll get aggressive if he has to; that, and he's a naturally ravenous eater, which is a pretty frightening sight. Feign, lying down, looked at Beau. Beau jumped at his gesture and hid behind the spit. Feign then turned and closed his eyes. Beau peeked out from the spit and looked curiously at the Electrike. Beau wandered close, looking at his face, almost as if he were studying it. Feign opened his eyes, and Beau rushed back to the spit. It was a cute display, to be sure. Something rustled in the overgrown grass nearby. Beau bolted towards Feign for protection, and Feign raised his head to the sound. Out of the grass came a Bulbasaur. Feign stood up, but the Bulbasaur wasn't trying to attack, it was simply passing by. Feign looked at Beau and smiled, but Beau quickly bolted back to the spit. More rustling followed, and this time the "visitors" were most certainly aggressors.

Two String Shots shot out from the grass and embraced Beau, quickly pulling him into the tall grass. Feign stood up and bolted towards the kidnappers. He almost caught up to them when his legs were tied by another String Shot. One of the kidnapping Spineraks stopped to staunch the Electrike, and then it went back to dragging Beau. However, before it could get back, Feign paralyzed it with a Thunder Wave, thus leaving both Feign and the Spinerak immobile. It was a seemingly useless venture, however, as the other Spinerak was still able to drag Beau alone, albeit at a slower pace. Electrike barked angrily in regret, and then whimpered in lament.

The wind blew threw her hair as she jumped from tree to tree, scanning her surroundings for berries, then she was struck by hindsight, making her lose her footing and fall. She managed to catch herself on a branch; it broke, but it made the fall less painful. She then dashed back to the tree where the Spinerak were at full speed. "I can't believe how stupid I was!" she yelled to herself. "Spinerak are Carnivores, they only eat berries for medicinal purposes...they definitely don't need all of those." Almost missing the tree, she slid in an attempt to stop and then bolted up the tree. She returned to the sturdy branch where the knothole was and said "Hey guys, I've returned for th-" Then she stopped dead in her tracks. Inside the knothole was a large white lump. Now, this would be normal in most cases, they are, after all, Spinerak. However, this specific lump had antennae, ones clearly belonging to a Caterpie. The smell emanating from the antennae (as stimulated reaction out of fear) was familiar; It was most certainly Beau. Rin was unable to move, and unable to speak; she was in shock. Then, she let out a blood-curdling scream.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!"​

Her eyes became bloodshot, her breathing became heavy and aggressive, her muscles bulged, her judgement became questionable, and her morals were non-existent. "You...you're all dead!" Tears started streaming down her face as memories of the Diglett from the Temple started rushing back. She took out her two knives and held them both in an offensive, yet notably chaotic position. "I'll kill you all, you're all dead!" She was gripping the knives so hard that her hands almost started to bleed, leaving bruises. Her arms moved in small movements erratically and shook vigorously. She destroyed the cover to the knothole, tearing the silk to shreds. The three Spinerak tried to hold her down with String Shots, but she was far too unruly and broke through. She started to attack, but then...a subtle happening. A wiggle. The small lump wiggled, and it caught Rin's eye. Her muscles started to shrink and her eyes regained their natural color. "B-Beau?" Rin said in a hopeful voice. The lump once again wiggled. "Beau!" She said, the streams of tears getting larger. She cut the silk from Beau and hugged him tight. "I'm so glad to see that you're okay!" She exclaimed, as if talking to a child. Beau nuzzled her in response. The happy moment was broken up by an onslaught of Poison Sting attacks aimed for Rin's back. She smiled a devious smile, bearing the attacks. She commanded Beau to use String Shot on the three, and while he didn't tie them all together, he did manage to tag them all with the string. Rin touched the tree, examining it. It was dry, and at the same time it was smooth, it could endure a small fire without being engulfed. She gathered about 10 berries (most of them Oran, but various others) from the knothole and placed them in her backpack. She then took a match out and started to light it, but was overcome by a sharp pain that overtook her body. The poison was circulating. Unlike the "Leech Life Incident", she was still able to move, the poison hadn't reached critical levels, it'd take a little while for that. She lit the match and set the string on fire, burning the three, and distracting them temporarily. She grabbed Beau and jumped to a branch below, but she slipped and fell onto the ground below. It didn't take long for the Spinerak to follow suit, as well as another Spinerak that joined in from elsewhere. Rin needed time to check to see if any of the berries were Pecha berries, and even if they were, she would need time to recover. Beau went to her front as if to protect her. It was one on four, and Beau certainly wasn't the strongest fighter. Suddenly, one of the Spinerak was thrust into one of the trees, fainting on impact. Feign appeared out of the overgrown grass, and went to Beau's side, also defending Rin.

Feign ran towards one Spinerak, and used Thunder Wave, paralyzing it. One Spinerak leapt towards Feign and was promptly Tackled by Beau. Beau was hit by a Poison Sting, but luckily avoided being poisoned. Feign Tackled the Spinerak Tackled by Beau, but it hung on. Rin finally found a Pecha Berry among one of the berries in her backpack. Even though berries are normally eaten by pokemon and taste disgusting to most humans (however, wild berries are often processed and drunk by humans as drinks), the restorative properties are universal. Rin, however, has eaten berries all her life, and thus she acquired a taste for them. The restorative process started to take place, and even though she wasn't fit to fight, she stood up and readied her fist, unsteady and trembling. She realized her weakness, and sat back down. Beau then knocked out the weakened Spinerak with a Tackle, and Feign did the same with the paralyzed one. There was one Spinerak left, and it was unharmed. It looked scared, and it had every right to be. After all, a strange woman invaded their home, took their food, and almost tried to kill them, ordering her pokemon to knock out her friends (even though they did it on their own). Rin smiled gently, realizing that they did all of this out of necessity, and signaled for it to leave, as it promptly did. She wobbled towards Feign and Beau, the former of which licked her hand and the latter climbing on her shoulder and nuzzling her head with his, and they all started following the path towards Kamen Rock.

Name: Timothy "Mothball" Collins
Age: 17
Gender: Male

Appearance: Timothy, or Mothball, is tall and gangly, his too-long limbs often splaying everywhere in his clumsy attempts to move without falling over himself. His caramel hair was shaggy and always looked as though Mothball had just rolled out of bed and into a storm. His gray eyes are framed by orange and black glasses and his nose is slightly crooked. His mouth seemed to be perpetually quirked upward in a preemptively apologetic smile. All of this can possibly be overlooked due to Mothball's severe acne. In short, he looks about as harmless and awkward as possible.

He likes to wear a blue sweater-vest over a light blue t-shirt, and dark gray long-shorts. A black rucksack and black joggers complete his preferred outfit. At any one time he may be covered with over four band-aids.

Personality: Mothball really is as awkward as he looks. His internal clock seems to be set half an hour later than reality, leaving him to rush everywhere to be on time. This, combined with his recent growth spurt, means that he often trips or otherwise walks into things when he isn't paying attention. His passage is often accompanied by a flurry of apologies. Possibly due to this, he has no trouble shaking off minor hurts; physical or otherwise.

Mothball is generally very energetic, prone to waving his arms around to emphasise a particular point, and subsequently smacking it into something. He can get almost absurdly happy over small things, or the happiness of acquaintances or friends. He dislikes confrontation, almost immediately capitulating in most cases. Anything that interests him can hold his attention for hours, but he often becomes distracted from things that disinterest him.

His usual reaction to an unfortunate event or tense moment is to become even more energetic. Because of this, he can seem incredibly oblivious and callous, or even dim-witted. If anybody pays him a lot of attention, they might notice that in his every action is an undercurrent of nervousness. In truth, he is just slightly afraid of himself and of negative emotions in general. Part of him makes sure that he is always running late so that he doesn't have time to think too deeply.

Although he gives the impression of being an incredibly easy victim, and he normally is, he has an as-of-yet undiscovered core of steel.

History: His mother walked out on the family when he was six, leading his father to have to work even harder and employ babysitters when he was out. When he was home, Mothball's father often spent too much time doting on his older sister, Maria, to pay much attention to him. This left him entertaining himself with his imagination, which sometimes involved fierce battles between odd, four-legged monsters. He didn't blame (or at least told himself he can't blame) his father for paying more attention to Maria. His older sister had the better grades, better friends, better tastes, better ambitions. She talked about working for LATIOS and helping people, which Mothball admired.

She'd just gone off to join the company, leaving him feeling particularly aimless, when the invitation from Professor Vayne arrived and he accepted almost instantly. Any strange dreams he had, he shook off as being a by-product of the odd imagination he'd had when he was younger.

'Oh. My. God. I want those boots,' Candy Kalster, dressed in a flowing, red garment uttered, eying a pair of boots that belonged to some cat-woman wannabe. She was dressed as one of those princesses, modifying the outfit to her tastes. Her gloves were a light red that was almost pink, and a silken collar adorned her throat, accompanied by the pendant that dangled from a golden chain.

"I wish I had a body to be able to want clothes," a voice told her sulkily in her head. The guy had started becoming sulky more and more often, countering every word that came out of her mouth with a reason why she should pity him. *Oh, be quiet, Envy, you don't have to do any work. Why are we here, again?* She asked, glad that she had almost perfected the art of communicating with the guardian thing. She winked at a guy who had been ogling her, flashing a bright smile his way. After watching his embarrassed and awkward reaction, amused, she sashayed away, her black heels clicking on the hard surface that was the floor.

"Don't call me Envy! Would you like it if I called you girl? And we're here because there's a strong likelihood that the other Angels will show up around this place. And you have no idea how lucky you are to have the wings you do. If you had one of those wings that are present at all times, then you would have trouble hiding them, and they get cramped so easily. And when they cramp, it hurts like hell. Call me Invidus," he told her, indignantly.

*You told me Invidus meant the same as Envy, anyways. And since you are Envy, and you're, like, the only one of you, then you should be called Envy. Besides, I can't even remember the other name anymore.* Candy thought about her wings for a moment. On her upper back, four thick, red lines sprouted from each side of her spine, arching so that they almost looked like some kind of disjointed wing. She learnt that by manipulating an outside flame, no matter how small, she could grow large, impressive wings of fire covered in a kind of orange aura. But that was all unimportant as she saw the band playing.

She looked up at the stage appreciatively, watching the guy who was shirtless and on his knees. She admired the way his muscles rippled across his chest for a moment before somewhere in the back of her mind wondered how they got the wings to move like that. *It's probably remote-controlled or something,* Candy answered her own question absently. *Anyways, who cares? He is cute.* She seated herself on a stool, speculating if that girl was in a serious relationship with him.

"It is not remote controlled! He's one of the Angels, I tell you! I'm not sure which one, though. Are you even listening?" He screeched in her mind, irritated by the lack of a response.

'Chill, Envy, I can't march up to him right now and demand he reveal himself as an Angel,' she answered absently, forgetting to use her mind. She was busy interpreting the looks the girl was giving the cute guy, coming to a conclusion that they may be close to a relationship or she wanted a relationship with him. And she was in much of a better position to get one than Candy was which made her blood boil with envy.

Nearby, a woman known only as Kindness watched, frowning with worry for the girl. She was rather plain; not exceptionally beautiful, nor exceptionally ugly. However, whenever she brought on one of her common, soft smiles, her face seemed to almost glow, entrancing people almost as much as her compassion for everybody. She was dressed up as an "Exorcist" from an anime show she had watched once. With a large, black coat and a metallic star-shaped thing that resembled the Exorcists' one, she really couldn't be mistaken for anything else. Sighing, she wished that she could show the girl who was eying somebody on the stage with an envy bordering on bitterness that it was better to give things to those less fortunate than to want things from those that were more.

"There are more Angels close by," the pendant warned her. "I think that...' a word echoed through both their minds, causing Candy to involuntarily turn towards a guy that was pigging out on a stack of food, and a girl with him. "Pride?"

'He's so skinny! How can he stay that skinny and eat so much?' She asked, instantly feeling a flare of jealousy for the guy. *Then again, I don't really get fat myself, thanks to dancing.* She reflected before clearing a seat beside him of food and lowering herself onto it.

"Which Angels are – hey, Gluttony… I mean, Toni? And yes, that's Pride, all right. This is Invidus," he greeted them, giving them his "name" just to spite Candy. "I wish I could eat," he added bitterly, sighing with regret.

'So, what do you think of the band?' Candy asked nonchalantly, not even reaching for any of the food piled around him. Envy was miffed, she could tell, that she hadn't started interrogating them about being Angels yet.

"The girl's a doll. I can't believe I got stuck with you," Envy sighed in frustration.

'Personally, I think he's cute,' she told them dreamily, purposefully ignoring the comments Envy was making.

Name: Kaiba Swordkin
Age: 16
Gender: Male


Appearance: Kaiba is tall man who stands at 6'3 for a guy his age. He is often known as the "towering giant" by the people that know him. His skin is dark brown like a wooden stool or a piece of furniture. His eyes are as blue as the ocean with often amazes the people who look into them. There is a scar on his left cheek from a fight with a junkyard dog when he was a rebelling youth. His hands are wrapped up with white bandages to hide his scars from fighting against gang of bikers when he was 15. He lost the fight and to teach him a lesson, the bikers started to whip his hands with their biker chains. After injuring himself so often from fights, Kaiba started wearing black under-armor for protection that covers his arms and chest. His legs are regular blue jeans that have holes in the knees from his fights. He believes he is able to survive with "minor" injuries because of his "lucky" jeans. He wears steel boots at all times so his feet are never crushed or injured.


Personality: Kaiba is a dog with a lot of bark, but definitely no bite to back it up. Though he has spared and practiced boxing with his family's Hitmonchan, he has not fully grasped good fighting skills. Because of his training he is always trying to start fights with people to show his toughness, but then gets his butt handed to him all the time. Kaiba has a large ego and the need to shout out how "awesome" he is to all that meet him. Kaiba is annoying to many people, but his height is so intimidating that others dare not speak this to him. Though the people that do know he has no bite are always telling him to keep his mouth shut. When having the urge to prove he is "awesome" Kaiba will often trying making sculptures with his boxing techniques, which are always just piles of trash. Kaiba is always looking to make new friends and meet new people. While has an annoying personality to some, he does have a few good friends that enjoy being around him. Kaiba often uses his large body to protect these close friends as well. He describes himself as the "People's giant of awesomeness".


History: Kaiba was born in a small town in Zaude where he was a young rebellious trouble maker. Rather it would be shouting from rooftops or yelling in the town square, Kaiba made sure he did not go unnoticed. Even though he was a giant in the eyes of townspeople, he believed they did not pay him any attention out of fear. So Kaiba decided to always find ways to get people to notice what he was doing onec he had arrived on the scene. This became very annoying to the townspeople and so in retaliation some thugs decided to beat Kaiba up. Kaiba was beaten up quite a lot from the ages of 12-14 because he was annoying and weak. That's when he decided that he needed to bulk himself up and began training with his family's Hitmonchan. He learned the basic techniques of boxing, but his mind did not comprehend its purpose. So while Kaiba had the potential to be a great boxer, his mind held him back with thoughts of being "awesome" and beating up all those who oppose him. He would continue training with Hitmonchan and fighting others on the streets to prove how "awesome" he was. As a result, he found himself scarred often from his multiple fights with thugs and bikers. He just couldn't grasp what it would take to win the fights and finally be recognized as "awesome".



One day, he overheard a conversation between some townspeople about the idea of Pokemon battles and league champions. Once Kaiba heard the word "Champion" his eyes lit up with joy with the idea of becoming a Champion, which would make people realize and notice his awesomeness. He decided that he would head out on his journey as soon as possible. He just needed to know how to get his starter Pokemon. That's when he heard the townspeople talk about a person by the name of Professor Vayne. Kaiba became excited even more and ran over to the townspeople and asked them about all the details they could give him so that he could be a Pokemon trainer then champion. The townspeople started to snicker a bit at Kaiba. Kaiba was about to walk away with his head down when he noticed some dirt on his bandages were coming loose and so he tightened them a bit with his teeth. The townspeople thought he was threatening to them and so they stopped snickering and told him all about where to find Professor Vayne and her lab. Kaiba was now even more excited to get his first pokemon and also excited to start his first pokemon adventure in Zaude to become a champion.



That night, Kaiba decided to get as much rest as he possibly could before he made his way to the lab in the morning. While sleeping Kaiba awoke feeling different than usual he seemed as though he took on the body of a four-legged beast. It was sort of strange in this body - although, at the same time, it sort of felt right... Soon, the sky turned black. Lightning and fire started to spread, destroying homes, and terrorizing the people of Zaude. Soon, he heard an unfamiliar voice: "Beware of the Oracle..." Kaiba tried to block out the screams and tried running to protect everyone that he could. That's when he noticed a burning home about to fall down upon a family and their Haxorous. The Haxorous was using his dragon pulse to destroy the rubble that was coming down from the building, but soon a larger chunk than it could handle started to come crashing down on it. As the building was coming down, the Haxorous turned towards Kaiba and screamed something. However, Kaiba could not hear him because of the screams of the other people. Kaiba charged at the Haxorous and the family in hopes of saving them. Just as he was a few inches away from pushing all of them out of danger, the house's burning rubble fell on top of all of them. Kaiba woke up screaming and unsure of what had just happened. He wanted to play it off as a regular and awkward kind of dream, but he looked at his body and his bed to see that he had been slightly burned.

Ruby had just been dropped down on the lakefront by a flock of wild Pidgeots. Once she recognized she had been dropped in a strange place, Ruby immediately dispelled her fear of the unknown and headed toward the lake. It was there at the lake that she saw Professor Rowan being attacked by a group of Starly. "Why are all flying Pokemon in such a big hurry to attack humans these days? I better save that old man with what I've learned from my grandfather. Hopefully my after effect won't kick in!" Ruby said as she focused her aura into a transparent veil that suppressed the wills of the Starly flock and knocked them out. Ruby jumped up and down in celebration over the fact that her technique was super effective. However, before she could continue her celebration, she noticed that she had also knocked out the old man she was trying to save. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]

"Hey, how about some thanks for saving you from that flock of Starly that just attacked you!" Ruby screamed. Just as she was about to continue screaming, the flock of Starly awoke from being unconscious. Professor Rowan flinched as he feared that they would attack. "Young lady, I think it might be best for us to escape with what little time we have." Professor Rowan grabbed his briefcase and was preparing to run away, but Ruby threw up her hand and stopped him. "A heroine never turns her back to the enemy, a heroine with scars on her back have no resolve and thus are unfit to be a heroine." Ruby said as she tightened the scarf around her neck. "That is rule three of my grandfather's training and I plan to abide by it!" Ruby screamed as she prepared for another oversight attack, but before she could Professor Rowan grabbed her shoulder. "If you have that kind of resolve then you should use one of my Pokemon." Professor Rowan offered his briefcase to Ruby. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]

Ruby launched the Pokeball between the flock of Starly and from that ball arose the Pokemon, Shinx. The Starly looked at Shinx with some traces of fear from Ruby's oversight, but still tried to attack her Shinx. "Young lady, here is a Pokedex, use its data to battle with that Shinx you have!" Professor Rowan handed off the Pokedex to Ruby. Ruby then uses the device to find the attacks of her Shinx. From the Pokedex's information she found that Shinx knew Tackle, Leer, and the strange move Mud-Slap. "Brave use your Leer attack." Shinx stands in the middle of the flock and uses Leer on all of the Starly in the flock. "There are five Starly in the flock and we have hit all of them, good job Brave! Now Tackle them all down to the ground!" Shinx responds immediately to the commands of its master and hits each Starly with a Tackle attack. Each of the Starlys fell very easily. "I know Starlys aren't strong, but they shouldn't have fallen that easily." Professor Rowan said as he watched Ruby place a gold scarf around Shinx's neck. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]

What's your name, old man?" Ruby said as she extended her hand out for a handshake. "My name is Professor Rowan, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ruby. The idea of you being a hero actually interests me. I've been looking for someone like you. Would you like me to tell you about a path that will lead you on to the path of becoming the hero of this region?" "Of course I want to hear about it! Tell me where to go!" "Then we will be heading off to Snowpoint city so that you can board a specific ship." "Alright then please lead the way, old man Rowan!" With that Ruby and Rowan made their way to Snowpoint city, where Ruby would board named as the S.S. Libra II.

At the harbor, she prepared to board the S.S. Libra II. She flashed the man her ticket and boards the boat, but not before letting Brave out of its Pokeball. "Here we go, Brave, it's a brand new adventure from here on out!" Ruby grabbed her sunglasses and covered her eyes. "Please watch me closely and with loving eyes, grandfather." A tear slipped from Ruby's face to the floor.[/FONT]

Name: Josè Relámpago (means 'lightning' in Spanish)

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Appearance: José is of Hispanic descent, and has a slight accent. He has slightly dark skin, and black hair, which José has let grow out to shoulder length. He has sharp facial features, and a thin frame. José, despite being almost unnaturally skinny, is quite strong. He is tall, at six and a half feet tall. José usually wears a muscle shirt and gym shorts, but can sometimes be seen wearing Jeans and a trenchcoat when it is colder. José is always wearing a necklace, which has a lightningbolt decoration on it. This is his 'good luck charm', and José is never found without it.

Personality: To put it simply, José is a bully. He often picks on those weaker than him, and thinks of them as lesser humans. He thinks that Pokemon are simply tools to make one appear stronger, so he gets in more fist fights than Pokemon battles. He is often easily sidetracked, and can be tricked reasonably easily. José will only trust someone as his friend if they can prove that they are strong, and even then he is hard to get along with. However, once he does trust you, José is a faithful friend that will help you with almost anything. He often calls people 'Bro' and 'Dude', and jokes around a lot.

History: José was born in a small, oceanside town that revolved largely around Water Pokemon. Lapras were used instead of boats, Magicarp were their main source of food, the list goes on. José, who hated this environment, ran away when he was ten, taking a Lapras across the sea. Seeing as he didn't have any Pokeballs, José was forced to leave his friend behind, setting out for the nearest town.

Once he got there, he realized just how secluded his old life was. José had walked directly into an industrialized city, the largest building emblazoned with 'LATIOS corp.' José secretly entered this building, finding it instead to be a factory. While he was there, he stole a few Pokeballs, and left the corporation behind him. He lived in a nearby town for several years before actually hearing about the Pokemon Proffessor of the region. It was then that he journeyed to her, and recived Zephyr.

RP Sample: Pokémon: The Walking Dead; Rick rolled off the mat that he slept on. He was the first one up, as usual, so he went out the front door quietly. He sat behind the barracades that he had planned, and looked over the ocean at the rising sun. He released Aggron from his ultra ball, and the mountainous Pokemon stood next to him. They didn't say or do anything for over five minutes, then Steven, his only true friend in the gym society, came and joined them.

"Ready for our morning run?" He asked, and Rick nodded. He went back inside, and grabbed his machete from next to his bedroll. He strapped it on, and left, being sure to notify Misty, who was up. Rick walked back outside to see that Steven had been talking to Aggron.

"Let's go." Rick said. He unlocked the many deadbolts on the metal door, and returned Aggron, who wouldn't fit, to his ball. The group went out, Steven closing the door behind him, flinching slightly as the automatic locks engaged.

"Got one. At your ten." Steven said, as he was leading. Rick saw the human, a female, shuffling towards them. Rick sheathed his machete, and drew a hatchet that he had picked up in lavender town. He threw it, his aim being dead on. The walker slumped to the ground, uttering a low groan. Rick retrieved his throwing knife, decapitating the Walker for good measure. The duo finished their daily circuit, not encountering any more Walkers. Misty was delighted to see them back, as she always was, and they continued with their daily lives.
