    The Phenomenon​


    We live in the PRIMARY UNIVERSE. There are many natural phenomenons, most of them as harmless as the Aurora Borealis. But there is one phenomenon that does much more than make pretty lights. Every now and then, a time rift is created in the universe, and this rift creates a TANGENT UNIVERSE. Think of the Primary Universe as a circle, and the Tangent Universe as a line segment. The Primary Universe, like a circle, has neither beginning nor end. The Tangent universe has a definite beginning and an end, like a line segment. As any tangent does, the Tangent Universe touches the Primary Universe at one point. When the two touch, a portal opens, allowing people to transverse the two. However, it is not recommended you do so, because at the end of the Tangent's lifespan, it will collapse on itself and create a BLACK HOLE. The Black Hole is a huge space of extreme gravitational pull. The Black Hole will completely erase the Tangent Universe, when its time comes. This is the barebones of our understanding.

    Normally, a Tangent Universe has no direct effect on the Primary Universe, as its destruction happens when the two are too far apart to affect each other. But, some times its different. There are screw ups in the duplication process. An ARTIFACT (usually made of metal) may be created. And Artifact is an item that has been duplicated twice. For example, a toaster is duplicated twice, so there are two toasters in the Tangent Universe, breaking the Law of Conservation of Mass. The Tangent Universe then becomes unstable, and collapses prematurely. If this happens, the two universes would be too close together, and the resulting black hole will destroy the Primary Universe as well. Obviously, this is not ideal. When an Artifact is created, a HERO (or rather, heroic team) is chosen to expel the Artifact from the Tangent Universe, and send it back to the Primary Universe. The hero will be able to traverse to the Tangent Universe and assume control of their TANGENT HALF. The Artifact will be sent back to the Primary Universe by the hero; this delays the destruction of the Tangent and allows enough time to pass to allow the Primary Universe to be out of range of the Black Hole.

    Along with the task of saving the universe, the Heroes/Heroines will receive certain "gifts". They won't know of their potential in the beginning, but they will discover them and have to use them to transport the Artifact. Each character will have one power to start, and none of them will have the same power as another. Powers are generally simple, yet useful abilities like super strength, controlling water, and x-ray vision. Along the way, more powers can be acquired through plot devices.

    When a tangent is first created, it is an exact copy of the primary universe (besides the artifacts) However, actions that take place in the Tangent Universe can alter how it turns out from thw Primary. So say Roger eats a muffin in the Primary Universe, but his tangent half decides to go get a burrito. This changes the outcomes of the two universes. See, by going out to get a burrito, he might meet someone he wouldn't have if he had stayed home and eaten a muffin, or he may be hit by a car on his way out or something. Little actions build up and snowball into two entirely different outcomes, and that outcome may be drastically different depending on how long the Tangent universe has been alive.

    This is a continuous cycle of Tangents being created and destroyed, a cycle kept in check by some higher being we do not know of.

    Plot.​
    The roleplay is staged in the late 50s, in Fromville, Indiana, America. A tangent universe has been created, and its time is almost up. As the heroes, the Roleplayers will work together to find the artifacts and send them back to the Primary Universe. You will start the Rolelay at Chi Chi's Bar and Grill, located in downtown Fromvile. Your first post should end there, and an NPC will take things from there.​

    The date is October 1st, 1958. You are a human being between the ages of 14 and 20, a teenager. You enjoy living the life of a free American teenager in the changing tides, or maybe you don't. For one reason or another, you are in smallish town Fromville, Indiana. Maybe you live there? Visiting family? Studying abroad? Anything that would put you there for the month of October. Other than those things, your character can be whatever you want (I mean don't make yourself an aztec warrior or a viking because obviously that's a bit out of place historically). Bonus points for whoever makes the first Greaser.​

    The area​
    Fromville is a small town. Well, bigger than most small towns, but definitely not New York City. There are many suburbs surrounding the town, and various large houses adorn the center. In the center there is also an elementary school and a high school. (the elementary one goes up to 8th grade) There is also a fairly swell university there, the rightful named University of Fromville. They have a decent medical program and a good engineering program. Other fields are supported but not as popular. Within the "downtown" area, there are various stores and restaurants, including Chi Chi's. There is a Catholic Church and Private School downtown as well. Two hospitals, Blackwood and Fromville Regional Hospital, compete for business in this town. Most people (rather immaturely if you ask me) prefer one over the other, and even argue about which is better. Most people live in the suburbs, but there are a few apartment complexes in downtown.​

    1. Do not do anything major (plot wise) Without consulting me first. You can't just be like, "Oh, my character was fishing and she found the artifact in the water." That defeats the initial purpose of the rp.

    2. No godmodding or bunnying without permission. That shiz be wack yo.

    3. Obviously, follow all of PokeCommunity's Rules, and Follow all of the Roleplaying Corner Rules.

    4. Even though this is rated M and there will be some violence and maybe some romance, don't be hacking off limbs randomly or getting it on with someone. Ain't nobody got time for that.​

    MAIN FACTS - done

    Gender: Female
    Home: A small wooden house lying near the city exit.
    Family: She lives with her Mother [Evelyn], Father [Leonard] and her pet poodle who probably needs a bath [Cusco].
    Occupation: Student & School Librarian [Latter Is Weekend Only]
    Starting Power: Aerokinesis is the power to control and/or manifest energy, wind currents, and control air with the mind. In its full extent it implies total manipulation over wind and ability to produce strong wind forces out of nowhere, and then utilize them to one's favor. However, the lesser, not-so-awesome state that Susanna is able to utilize is strictly restrained to making a few, inoffensive gusts of wind blow here and there. They last for short periods of time -2 to 5 minutes- and can move small, light objects around -tiny rocks, chunks of paper, etc-. Her current ability requires few to no noise around, as she can loose focus with quite some frequency.

    IN-DEPTH - somewhere between awesome and, uh, hopeless

    Appearance: A young woman of slender yet somewhat curvy shape and peachy skin. Her hair is of a light brown and falls in a disorderly fashion towards her shoulders, slightly hiding her neck but staying out of the way of her ears, which are nothing but average. Her face is somewhat roundish, but I'd say it looks more like an oval, with a slightly pronounced chin as it descends. Her eyes are the color of chestnuts and round, of an adequate size and far enough from each other to the point they almost collide with random strands of hair. A short distance above these eyes one will find a set of eyebrows at the same distance from each other, same shade of brown as her eyes, and also thin enough to not drag any attention or space away of her forehead, which will rarely be invaded by her hair -if at all-. Her nose is quite small as is her mouth, with no lipstick applied to it, meaning there are no shades of red in them.

    Clothing-wise one can tell that she will always aspire to look good and will always succeed... WIP. Will finish later.

    History: Born to a teenage girl of 18 who wasn't aware of her pregnancy at the time. Said girl was the daughter of a rich couple but was forced to marry the father of her kid, and was denied all sorts of monetary help from her parents. The father of this newborn was a male of 19 years, who had no job experience other than walking dogs and, just like with his girlfriend, he received no help from his parents. These two teenagers were Evelyn Johns and Leonard Wooster. Their daughter was named Susanna, and was blessed with good looks in spite of their questionable economical situation.

    they survived, of course. Although it required a lot of part-time works combined in order to leave Sussana's parents with few to no time to spend as a family. Babysitters were a quick solution to this issue, although either they were cheap and inefficient or expensive as hell. Few contact with her parents proceeded, until they became 20 and 21, with their daughter being 2 at the time. It was at this time that they finally achieved a decent economical situation. Granted, they didn't have any fancy forks like those spoiled kids nowadays, but they ate and spent some time together as a family and they were certainly happy, after all, that's what matters in a family, no?

    Although their house was almost at the exit of town, meaning that the mere thought of going to school involved having Susanna, or just Sue, to walk for an hour in order to reach the closest school. Babysitters were back and in charge of taking her to school by foot, since their funds were not big enough to actually afford one of those pretty transportalizing vehicles. Sue didn't spend the night at her friend's houses, because she knew she couldn't walk back home by herself, and her babysitters sure as hell wouldn't get her home living so far away from town!

    Lucky them little Sue always excelled at school, bringing nothing but A+s with the occasional A- home. She was soon reached by school authorities and granted a scholarship, so the thought of paying for her studies became less of a load for them. With that and the fact that Sue soon became capable of walking all the way to school on her own they went back to living a happy medium-low class life. THEN NINJAS AND EXPLOSIONS AND THE END!

    Other: She's been known to have a chronic neurological disorder referred to as Narcolepsy for as far as she can remember. This condition makes her sleep cycles and routines heavily irregular, especially is she's very emotional at the time (generally speaking, she could be vary angry, or very sad, and so on). Whenever this happens, her limbs will suddenly become weak as she feels a sudden need to sleep. Due to this condition she can achieve REM sleep in less than 5 minutes.

    Name: Ivan Zommer
    Age: 19
    Gender: Male
    Home: Inner City, lives with Older Brother and younger sister in an apartment.

    Occupation: None.

    Starting Power: Supersensory. Enhances his remaining four senses and also adds a fifth, which allows him to sense net force. He has to be extremely close to an object to clearly sense its net force, but when something big is moving (like a truck) he can sense it from further away. Basically the more force it has, the "louder" the object is. Using his enhanced hearing, he can also use echolocation to see.

    Appearance: Ivan is a posterboy for western Slavic origin. Fairish white skin, prominant facial features, dark eyes, and dark hair (and lots of it) are all that make up his face. He has a wideish face, a long, thin mouth and a strong brow line. His head is covered in jet black, medium length hair and his lower face is filled in equally black facial hair. His eyes are extremely dark blue, almost indigo. They used to be clear blue, but have darkened due to his retinitis pigmentosa, the condition that took his sight from him. For clothing he doesn't care what he wears, usually just a T shirt, jeans, and some sneakers. Body wise he is a fairly large guy, espescially for a Czeckloslovakian. He's 6'2" and 170 lbs. Being about average weight for his height, he isn't really super buff or skinny, just healthy. He usually, if not always, has his walking stick. It's pure white.

    Personality: Ivan's outward personality can best be described as dry: a born critic, he calls things for what they are and doesn't pull punches. Diliberately blunt and to the point, he'll be quick to tell you if you're wrong about something. His humor is just as dry as his criticism, and he can be quite bitter about things. Don't expect him to be buddy-buddy with just anyone; it takes time for him to trust others. He hates weakness and tries to downplay his loss of vision as much as he can. In others, he may get annoyed with someone's weaknesses or make jokes about it. He doesn't fly off the handle in high end situations, and he knows how to deal with stress effectively. If you ever need someone to keep their cool when the feces hits the fan, it'll be Ivan. But don't rely on him too much, he might leave you behind if you can't keep up.

    Once he warms up, Ivan is quite nice. Still not one to give out compliments for no reason, his level of politeness increases tenfold. He might even crack a smile or a joke that isn't meant as a stab at someone. But even then, don't expect him to be very eccentric. He's still as cold as his homeland.

    History: As a child, Ivan grew up in the Czeck countryside, working the family farm and hoping to raise enough money to buy their way to America. He woke early, slept short hours, and worked hard for the first 8 years of his life. He didn't go to school, and only learned what his parents told him about the world. Having said that, he isn't unintelligent. He learns quick, but he just hasnt recieved the basic education of mathematics, literature, science, and history to really do well in public school. (not to mention his deteriorating eyesight) His family finally raised enough money to sell the farm and move to America.

    Ivan's family (He, brother, sister, mother, and father) moved to America from Czeckloslovokia when he was 9. At first he was excited to be coming to the Americas, but his happiness was crushed when American doctors told him that he only had a few years left to see. He was born with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a disease which slowly breaks down vision in those with it. Ten years passed, and each year his vision closed until it dwindled away to nothing. Being completely blind at 18, he was unable to do much. No work, no sports, nothing. Just be escorted by his brother whenever he was off work, which was almost never. Ivan's parents died not too long ago, and he's been living with his 25 year old brother Pavel since. Luckily, his brother is successful enough to support their family of three. Ivan's little sister Katerina is a senior in high school, and will probably get married and move out in a year (or if she listens to Ivan, go to college). Ivan himself is confined to his home, unless a dashing young successful woman sweeps him off his feet and takes him in. He spends his days now sitting at home, or going out with his sister or brother as an escort when they have the time.

    Other: He likes vanilla Ice Cream, and listening to music and the radio.

    Starting Power: Joey has the ability to read minds. To a degree. He doesn't mean to pick up the thoughts he hears most of the time, hearing random bits of information, the latest personal gossip, and the occasional insult directed towards him. If he focuses, he can read the mind of a person across the room. Not only does this allow him to eavesdrop spy on people, but he can sense if something is near. However, if he tries to read minds for too long, he will become nautious and could quite possibly pass out.

    Appearance: Joey is your average fifties teenager: Greasy, leather clad, shades, a toothpick constantly hanging out of his mouth, and long black hair slicked back with grease. Joey is around 5'9 and has a slim build. He weighs about 120 pounds, a little bit over the under-weight limit, and tends to like it that way. Due to his small size, he gets many brand new nicknames such as shrimp, small fry, and string bean.

    As for looks, Joey has longish black hair that he always has slicked back with grease. Not only does he use the grease, but he frequently combs it back as well. To even further this he wears the common-day fifties shades worn by most other disciples of rock n' roll. He is normally seen sporting a Jailhouse Rocker jumper, consisting of a pair of blue jeans, a black and white striped shirt, and a black leather jacket. He has kind of a sleezy look to him, despite his rather straight-forward lifestyle. His eyes are a bright blue, and can normally be seen when he's not wearing his shades. He tends to keep his comb in his leather jacket pocket. In all respects, Joey isn't gorgeous, but he's still above average, somewhere in there.

    Well, as for the starting power try to keep it to something fairly underpowered (like x ray vision) or elemental (fire control) because the stronger, more useful powers will come later. Just...I'll tell you if you pick something too strong or its being saved :p In the story there will be a time where we get new powers, a la Final Fantasy 5 style.

    And yes, Elite, your home location works fine ;p

    And a note to anyone else, try and mention all of your family members in your home location like hereto did!
     

    Niccolo Robinson, Lead Vocals of "We Make Our Own Music"

    Age: 20 years old
    Gender: Male
    Home: College Dormitory.

    Occupation: Niccolo is a graduating student from the University of Fromville, taking up an undergraduate bachelor course in Mechanical Engineering. Also, he works part time as a rock 'n roll band vocalist.

    Starting Power: Pyrokinesis. Niccolo can control fire at will to a limited degree. He can control it from almost any source: campfires, matchsticks, ovens. He uses it for a variety, also unpractical, reasons, but mostly for showing-off. However, Niccolo cannot summon a huge fire at will. At the very least, Niccolo can summon the a small flame akin to a candle. Also, he must see the flame for him to be able to control it. Since fire is a tricky element, Niccolo needs a vast amount of concentration, a requirement that Niccolo will find hard to maintain. He is also not immune to severe burns. He might feel his finger getting a little hot when he summons fire but the heat is too negligible to cause a burn.

    Appearance: Niccolo is a relatively tall guy standing at a height of five-foot-ten, almost an inch taller than most of his peers. He wears a jet-black hair that is cut short to keep it neat and clean-looking. He prefers to use little to none product in his hair, although he frequently combs it. His eyes are of the same color of his hair, although just a shade lower, bordering on grayish-black. His thin mouth curves ever so slightly, a smile frequently seen with those movie villains. Niccolo could certainly be called good-looking and many females around him tend to get attracted to him.

    For his clothing, he prefers wearing a formal suit especially when going to class. He is usually seen wearing a brown coat, usually slung on his shoulders and a white long-sleeved polo. He hates wearing jumpers although he has a pair if he needs to. He also ties a red tie around his neck.

    Personality: Niccolo Robinson, despite looking like a serious guy with his looks and style of clothing, is a child trapped in adult's body. It is pretty hard to connect how he look like (looking all high and all that jazz) to his personality. If you could know Niccolo more, you would notice that he is in fact a fun-loving guy with childish antics. However, despite of all his actions, he wanted to be acknowledged as a fully-grown adult. He is a generally good guy, especially around people his age, and people loved him for this. He could be considered as one of the funniest and happiest guys you will ever meet, barring the few attempts to be serious (and therefore, adult) at times.

    He is also a lover of music. Rock 'n roll is his genre and Elvis Presley is his hero. He was brought up loving the genre and this inspired him to start his own band, "We Make Our Own Music." When it comes to his band, and rock 'n roll, Niccolo is pretty passionate. He is always inspired to write his own songs and always have a generally fun time while doing it. He's not too shy when ask to burst out a few verse of the current song he is working on.

    However, he is not really the 'stick-to-your-decision' type of guy. Niccolo could be really unpredictable. One moment he may like this, the other moment, not. Niccolo is not dependable to stay firm on his choices. He is also easily to back out on decisions.

    History: Niccolo Robinson hailed from the city of Memphis. Ever since he was young, he grew up under the watch of his parents. He went on several therapy when he was a kid, a desperate attempt of his parents to 'cure' his ADHD disorder, but it never actually came into success. Niccolo just learned how to live with it. His disorder became a major reason why he was bullied when he was a small kid in pre-school. When he went to high school, however, he already managed to conceal his ADHD. By not actually concentrating on anything at all, his disorder will not kick in and boom. Hidden. This was also the time he developed his love for music.

    Before he became a musician, Niccolo was a poet. He would write out quick four-liners every time a good rhyme comes inside his head. He started transforming his poems into song when his buddy, Gerald Formal, asked permission to try and incorporate a tune into his poems. It went better than expected as Niccolo discovered he could decently sing. Afterwards, Niccolo and Gerald managed to round three more people, all musically inclined, and their band "We Make Our Own Music" started, with Niccolo as the lead vocalist and Gerald on lead guitars. Nowadays, their band does some gig from time to time.

    Other: Niccolo Robinson is an ADHD guy and it is hard for him to concentrate on a single thing for a longer time, except for his writing. His disorder even makes studying hard for Niccolo, but he manages to make through.

    Hereto, your power is acceptable, but Miltank, unfortunately, has chosen a power that is being saved for later. Sorry! Flight will become a big deal later on and would make a lot of the beginning arcs pretty moot!
     
    Aww. Too bad, but remember that from here, I called dibs on flight. Is pyrokinesis acceptable though?

    Also, follow-up question. Are we pretty capable already of controlling our powers or are we just beginners and pretty weak?

    Okay, I've realized that i didnt really explain the powers very well, so to make things simpler, I've written a list of the powers you can have at the start. More powers will be...'unlocked' later on, due to IC events. I will provide a list of the powers unlocked when the time comes, and we can each choose another power. So by the end of the rp, you could have Mind Reading, Flight, and Pocket Dimensions. But to start, we only have one power :p


    The list will be aded to the Opening Post in a few moments.

    Yeah, I think I got that. So reserve me up for Pyrokinesis. :)

    However, my question is are our first power already developed or are we just still learning on how to use our powers, much like in Gilded Halls?

    Starting Power: Plasma Manipulation – The ability to create, control, and manipulate plasma. As of now Mirren is simply able to create small discharges of plasma.

    Appearance: Despite being physically born a male Mirren cannot bring herself to dress in the "appropriate" attire that is expected of her. Long, straight, almost shiny black, newly fashionable weave falls gently over both her broad shoulders. Bangs come down enough to cover up her eyebrows as well, but they have been tweezed to no end to make them appear thinner. In times of need it is used as a facial veil in case someone is looking too hard or closely. If, and only if, there's a rush she'll put her hair up in a messy bun, but absolutely hates doing such drastic things. Soft, brown eyes that can quickly harden into a piercing gaze greet anyone who looks upon her. Sometimes Mirren likes to use her eyes as deadly weapons, frequently giving looks that could kill. This is why she makes them as noticeable as possible. To achieve this feat Mirren is often seen wearing different eye makeup, as if she was forcing people to solely look at only her eyes (because she is.) This is another means of protection, she hopes people are too busy looking at the vivid colors surrounding her eyes to notice her more masculine features.

    Make up is Mirren's personal savior, the only thing she won't swear on. If there is one thing she always has you can count on it to be some sort of make up. Being new to the realm of cosmetics sometimes Mirren's isn't put on the best, as she is just getting the hang of it all. Finding the right shade of make up for her light brown skin is a work in progress. Eyeliner is always applied to her lashes in thick strokes to give them a bolder look, hopefully complimenting her eye shadow. On her plump lips she wears mostly shades of purple and red if she feels like being "exotic" she'll do green.

    Clothing is tricky for Mirren, very tricky. Stealing from her sister's closet, as been her greatest source of supply, that and the local mall. Some of them are a little too small for that reason alone. Being tall and weighing more than a girl her age only complicated things. Typically Mirren is rarely seen outside of her Chi Chi's Bar and Grill waitress uniform. Despite the tackiness of it the uniform hides her masculine figure a lot better than most of her clothing. Mirren wears a stuffed bra, she makes sure that her "cleavage" isn't showing at all. When not in uniform Mirren just prefers an extra large sweatshirt and denim shorts. Nothing too fancy or something that would physically show off things she would rather have hidden.

    Personality: Naturally Mirren is very secretive individual, but not outright so that it seems as if she has something to hide. Doing what she does could result in the loss of her life, to Mirren it's worth it to be free. Being so young she often gets careless, and sometimes believes that no one would really hurt a child despite the recent historic events. Lying is second nature to Mirren, though she does feel guilty about it because in the end it's an absolute. It's what's keeping her alive, or perhaps that is just something she just keeps telling herself. An overwhelming charm is what Mirren has in order to get people to believe her, it's easier to believe a lie from someone you like. A secret like hers is just too much for people, Mirren herself doesn't know the specifics of why it has happened to her.

    Quick to temper Mirren doesn't like to let people take advantage of her or talk down to her in a certain manner. Her life comes first, which means she'll suck it up and tread on a careful path. It is hard for Mirren to be quiet about subjects that just completely infuriate her. Most of her troubles come from racism, and Mirren knows how angry and violent a racist can get first hand. The only tolerable racism is when it comes from her superior(s) or other adults. Children her age do not get a pass, and Mirren has no trouble putting them in their place. Believe it or not Mirren prefers to avoid trouble at all cost. If that means she has to be the quiet one, sit in the back, and not say a word Mirren is willing to do that.

    Generally from day to day Mirren is a happy person. She loves working because it is one of the only places she can be herself, be her true self. Talking to people is like a hobby to Mirren because she loves learning about where they came from and what they are all about. Mirren wishes that everyone had a good side with her past she knows there are just some people that are pure evil. This is why she has severe trust issues and tends to not give any personal information away incase it comes back to haunt her later on.

    History: Mirren was born in the South, where? She didn't know nor did her only family member, a sister, tell her. It wasn't important to Mirren anyway it wasn't like that place was home to her. Both of her parents fell victim to extreme racism, they were beaten and lynched. There is no recollection of this in Mirren's mind because she was only two years old, though today she does indeed know how her parents death were caused because of prejudice and racism. Right after that another family that had lost members to the same lynching mob took in Mirren and her sister in. Soon after that they packed up everything that they owned and moved to New York City. New York City was home and that was where Mirren grew up, for the most part it had been fun.

    It was here when Mirren became different, rather realized that she was different. All the boys that she would play with wanted to be rough, and they wanted to talk about things she had no interest in. There was just something that Mirren felt that she just knew that she was different from other boys her age. One day before church Mirren tried on her older sister's Sunday church dress and asked why she couldn't wear that instead of the boring outfit she was meant to wear. She was forced to remove the dress and put on her boy clothes because dresses were for girls and girls only. When Mirren asked why and pushed the topic further she was disciplined through physical means. This was an incident that Mirren hasn't forgotten to this day. Mirren didn't put on another dress for another two years, but then something told her she just had to. And it felt right.

    As carefully as she could Mirren would sneak into her sister's room when she wasn't there and try on her clothes. She practiced in the mirror with putting on the make up she saw her sister frequently wearing. It was fun, just simple fun. The more Mirren did it the more she learned, the more it felt like this is what she was supposed to be doing. Except one day she got too carried away and lost track of time and was caught by her sister. For some reason her sister didn't discipline her, she didn't shout at her, she walked in and fixed the make up on Mirren's face. As the days went on Mirren grew braver and eventually went outside to face her peers. It, of course, ended poorly, with the other kids teasing Mirren relentlessly. Words like freak, weirdo, and other discriminatory slurs were flung her way. Life had taken a turn for the worse and one day Mirren had enough. She pursued the fight and it got physical, unfortunately for her the other person had friends and she did not.

    The move to Fromville came soon after that fight. It was best to get away from that entire state is what her sister said. Mirren sister was always worried, she knew that if anyone found out again that she might not see her sister alive again. She knew it was what Mirren wanted and she respected that. She did not understand it, any of it, she had long since stopped questioning it. Mirren sister accepted that her brother was now her sister and helped her with the hair situation. If she wouldn't have done it she knew Mirren would've gotten herself into some sort of trouble doing it. Mirren doesn't know how she knows, but in her gut she knows that she is meant to be a female. It is just what feels right to her and that's all that matters.

    To get the waitress position at Chi Chi's required a bit of fibbing on Mirren's part. She told the manager that she was 17 and homeschooled.

    Other: Mirren has Gender Identity Disorder, something that has yet to be diagnosed properly or researched upon.

    Starting Power:

    Telekinesis: Through the power of his thoughts, Geoff can move objects with his mind. This is not to be confused with TELEPATHY, which is the ability to read other's thoughts. There's not much else to add, it's a pretty simplistic ability.​

    Appearance:

    Standing at five foot ten and weighing in at around eighty kilograms, Geoff is perhaps your most typical, middle class Caucasian out there. Most people would go as far as to describe him as 'dark, and 'brooding', but that's just how he appears to others, he is quite the opposite. His verdant green eyes are eclipsed by his chocolate brown hair and boyish face. While he is neither muscular nor fat, and far from skinny, the most likely description for his body type would be 'lean'.

    When he's not covered from neck to ankle in his boringly grey janitor's overalls, he's usually seen wearing an assortment of t-shirts coupled with various denim jeans. Sometimes he can be seen swapping his t-shirts out for more formal shirts, but these are buttoned up with the final couple of buttons remaining undone and a tie hanging loosely from his neck. Like most young people, he possesses a leather jacket, but refrains from wearing it often as people often mistake him for a Greaser; a term he despises. He wears a multitude of rings on each hand and is hardly seen without a cigarette between two fingers.​

    Personality:

    Three aspects made up Geoff's personality. The first being his diagnosed ADHD inhibiting him from concentrating on a matter or task for an extended period of time and also getting him into a lot of trouble. The second is his Dyslexia, his inability to read coupled with his ADHD not only made it harder for Geoff to focus and learn in school, but also for any schooling institution to be able to handle and help him. The final and penultimate, is his sudden and inexplicable urges to steal things due to his Kleptomania. The severity of this is only amplified by his ADHD in that it often makes the urges a lot stronger, and happens more often. While he lacks the discipline to sit down and map out how he would steal something, Geoff often dives right in, taking whatever takes his fantasy and hoping to god he wouldn't get caught. With Telekinesis as his ability, if he ever found out what he could do, the possibilities of what he could steal would overwhelm the poor soul.

    But all in all, Geoff is a good kid, albeit plagued by unfairness and inequality. Given enough time, he can warm to others, but often finds that those who cannot keep up or prefer not to partake in his other hobbies are boring and will eventually lose touch with them. He's always excited to meet other people which psychological and emotional disorders, and is often attracted towards them in a friendly manner as someone he can empathise with and understand. Despite the lowliness of his job, he quite enjoys it and much prefers it to any desk job as it allows him a large degree of freedom not only in is actions, but with also low scale stealing.​

    History:

    Born and bred in Calgary, Canada, Geoff had a rather troubled childhood. At a young age he was quickly diagnosed with ADHD, to the bane of his parents. And so from a young age, he found it difficult to stay in one place for an extended amount of time, and also acted out a lot. When it came to school, he outlandishly rebelled against the teachers whenever they tried to get him to sit down and listen. School was a constant struggle for Geoff as he felt a lack of belonging coupled with his impulsiveness cause by the ADHD and the later discovery of his inability to read a write due to Dyslexia. It was a wonder he managed to make it through Elementary School.

    Hearing about a psychologist in America who dealt with ADHD and Dyslexic children, among others, his parents left their home in Calgary to move to Fromville. Here, they enrolled Geoff not only with the shrink, but also in local Junior High School. By the time he made it halfway through High School, he had only grown worse, picking up Kleptomania along the way. Dropping out from school, he continued to get into trouble with the law, being caught stealing among other things. He picked up smoking in Junior School as a crutch against his impulses, and smokes a fair amount despite his parents protest.

    Finally obtaining a job as the college Janitor, Geoff moved out from his parents to live the solo life, becoming even more out of control. As per their requests, he still visits the shrink to talk over his issues for what they pay for. At this point in time, while being unhappy with life, he is rather enjoying where he is at the moment.

    MiltankRancher: Sorry! i just saw your last post. Your first power will be prety underdeveloped, but will grow quickly. It should feel like a natural part of your character. Note: you wont be blasting off walls and such with your starting powers (not yet anyway...;]) but you'll be able to...say, light something on fire with pyrokinesis, or make a glob of plasma with plasmokinesis fairly soon. And we'll have a few run ins with goons to test those out fairly early on too!
