This title probably needs a little bit of an elaboration. As many of you know, I work at a movie drive-in - which, if you've never been to one before, is pretty damn awesome. I get to watch movies whenever I want to for free and it's a pretty cheap alternative compared to the regular movie theaters. Anyways, singer Jimmy Buffett - most known for his songs Margaritaville and Cheeseburger In Paradise barfs - held a live concert last night as a Texas drive-in he half owns and broadcasted live to over 20 drive ins across the country simultaneously. Now I don't exactly know how our drive-in was selected to host such an occasion, but I was dreading that day for weeks to come. And after last night, I had every right to think so.

Daily Music - "Cheeseburger In Paradise" by Jimmy Buffett
    Spoiler:
No offense to any Jimmy Buffet fans out there, but the main demographic of Jimmy Buffett is...parents and very, very old people. Combined with the fact that we were selling a lot of beer for the first time, it became a very drunk rage very quickly. And of course, as staff, I had to deal with that...all. night. long. I came outside one time and I just saw a whole bunch of elderly people doing a congo line in the parking lot, people breaking out dem herbs, and of course, chugging as much beer as possible. As a result, a bunch of people crashed their cars into one another, and one person actually ended up breaking his leg. It definitely did not feel like I was working at a movie drive-in, that's for sure.

Daily Comic - "Summer Plans" by Bill Amend of FoxTrot
    Spoiler:

Also at the end of the day, the consistency of the tips across the entire lot was atrocious. Because everyone was spending their money on beer, no one was really buying food from the main diner (where I was stationed for the night.) I didn't have a license to serve alcohol, so unfortunately I was stuck in there. Anyways, at the end of the night, I had a friend who walked away with $130 in tips, while the people inside only walked away with about $20. It was very frustrating, but I mean the person did work in the beer place the entire night so it is technically fair that they get to keep it. I just wanted the money haha.

Daily Video - "Dragonzball P (Dragonball Z Parody)" by animator OneyNG
    Spoiler:
Anyways, Jimmy Buffet's music is just...way to happy for my taste. If you listen to the song above, maybe you'll feel the same way. While listening to it, just picture a large group of middle aged woman boogieing to it. I'm glad to see that they had a fun time there, but it was a site that honestly, I just didn't have to see. What do you think of Jimmy Buffett's music? have you ever been to a live concert before? Comment below as I'd love to hear what you have to say about this topic!

But yeah, his stuff can sometimes be a bit uppity and, well, Hawaiian.
